Chapter 1
They were needed here, Rolf had a feeling, he had a sort of 6 sense when it came to things like this. Rolf had been reading up on the history of small towns and come across Hawkins, a small midwestern town located in Roane County in the US, positioned about 80 miles outside of Indianapolis was where he felt they were needed he was sure of it. Something had happened here and it was being hushed up, in the year 1983, and Rolf Scamander was going to find out what it was.
Luna looked at her husband and grinned, she packed up the time turner, Hermione had given Luna and Rolf the time turner as a wedding gift, with the instructions to save as many creatures as possible. They'd travelled around the country saving as many animals as they could when they'd started dating. Now they could save creatures throughout time as well. Newt Scamander had talked to Hermione for hours when he'd met her at Luna and Rolf's wedding, regaling her with many of his daring tales. He was unimaginably proud of his grandson and Luna. All the creatures that could be saved now, with the use of a time turner. This was the very same Newt Scamander that had wrote the fabled care of magical creatures text book used at hogwarts to this day. Newt had retired to Dorset at the beginning of the 1990s. Luna and Rolf would often visit bringing the enchanted briefcase with all the new rescued creatures. It was often Newt's job to find suitable homes for them.
The town of Hawkins was ordinary with brick buildings, but there was one building that was of interest. Just on the outskirts of the town, very visible from the small town, was some sort of research facility. The building seemed totally out of place with it's military presence. The town was an ordinary town aside from the large research facility, Rolf had said with a finger snap and point "now that, is out of place". Luna had agreed saying "it's like Notre-Dame cathedral being situated, in a very small English village". Luna and Rolf split up to do research. All their research led back the the huge lab apparently name Hawkins's lab. No one in the town seemed to no what they were researching, there were many rumours of course, but most of the people in the town just seemed to ignored the huge building. Luna had met a group of kids who said that there friend was missing, a boy named Will.
