some more rei time cuz i love her
She was here. Rei had arrived at the doorstep of Hogwarts. Before she could even bring her hand up to knock, the door opened itself. She stepped in and was greeted by a small humanoid creature, who bowed, introduced himself as Bilm the House Elf, and told her that he was going to lead her to where she needed to be.
As they walked through the halls she saw portraits who would move through the frames, staircases that would move under her feet, doors that went to nowhere. God, Dazai would have to explain all of this to her.
The students had four different uniforms, not counting the difference between the masculine and feminine uniforms. All of them had the main color of black but their secondary colors were different. If Rei remembered correctly they represented different “houses” whatever that meant. Red and yellow for Gryffindor, blue and silver for Ravenclaw, yellow and black for Hufflepuff, and lastly, green and silver for Slytherin, Dazai’s house.
“Excuse me, Bilm, I know about the house system but what does it really mean, I don't understand it.” Rei asked, trying to both break the awkward silence and get the answers to her questions as soon as possible.
“Oh! Well you see, students are sorted into houses based on their personality, abilities, and values. Gryffindors value bravery, loyalty, and chivalry. Ravenclaws value intelligence, creativity and wit. Hufflepuffs value kindness, hard work and patience. And last but not least, Slytherins value ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness. Does that answer your question Mrs. Asami?” Bilm responded monotone. Never looking up to make eye contact.
“Oh, ok. Yes thank you Bilm” she said returning her attention to the halls, making sure she doesn’t trip or bump into anyone.
“ We have arrived.”

“I bet Dazai did something dumb and ended up in the infirmary, Blaise going to check on him.” Pansy stated. All of their classes of the day had passed and they still hadn’t seen Blaise since that morning and they hadn’t seen Dazai since the day before.
“Y’know what, that’s not a bad idea. Let’s go check the infirmary. Maybe try and find the twins, see if they can use that stupid map of theirs.” Draco agreed and began to turn the two of them around, towards the infirmary.
Pansy followed obediently. “Wait… Map? What map?”
“Oh sorry, forgot you didn't know, the Weasley twins have something called the Marauder’s Map. It basically shows them the location of anyone in Hogwarts.” Draco responded, searching the halls for his two friends. Two tufts of orange hair appeared in Draco’s vision. He steered himself and Pansy towards them.
“Hey Draco…..Pansy, what's up?” George said. The two of them obviously confused by Pansy’s presence, constantly looking back and forth between Draco, Pansy, and each other.
“Hey, guys can we see your map really quick. We can't find Dazai or Blaise.” Draco said, choosing to carefully avoid the elephant in the room.
The twins, hearing that their little brother may be in trouble, immediately whipped out the map from its hiding place in Fred’s cloak pocket. The two of them opened the map and said its opening phrase in unison. The first place on the map that Draco’s eyes went to was the infirmary, where he, as expected, saw B. Zabini, O. Dazai, S. Snape and P. Pomfrey
“Yep, that idiot did something dumb and landed himself in the infirmary.” Draco confirmed and began dragging Pansy with him in the direction of the infirmary, a pair of concerned twins lagging close behind.
When they came upon the infirmary door they found it already ajar. They overheard the conversation that was occurring between their professor and nurse. Draco brought the train of people following behind him to a stop and motioned for them all to be silent.
“-ot qualified to treat his psychological issues. I suggest that once you become his legal guardian you get him a psychiatrist. From what I’ve seen I have a growing list of possible mental illnesses but I am not at all qualified to diagnose them.” The four of them heard Madam Pomfrey say
“I understand. Could you maybe list off a few of these possible mental disorders?” Snape asked in reply
“To name a few: Autism, C-PTSD, BPD, HPD, Severe depression, and many more.” Draco had heard enough, they didn’t need to know Dazai’s medical information. He knocked on the infirmary door, walked in and promptly cut off the conversation between the two of them.
“Oh! Hello loves! Are you here to see Dazai or is one of you injured?” Madam Pomfrey asked, turning to the four students. Snape crossed his arms then walked past the curtain that presumably led to Dazai’s bed.
“Yes! Is our,” George started “little snakey ok?” Fred finished
“Yep! He is recovering from his injuries just fine. You may visit him, he is in the second bed.” the nurse responded, motioning to the set of curtains that Snape had slipped into a few minutes
The small group walked through the curtains.
Dazai was sitting on the hospital bed, an advanced potions textbook in his hands. Blaise was next to him doing his homework from the day before. Snape was in the corner, watching Dazai like a hawk as if he would shatter at a slight wind
---------------
Snape was not sneaky at all. Dazai could still feel his teacher's eyes even when he returned to his book. It was actually quite interesting. Potions had an obvious right and wrong. It made sense. In the same way that mixing baking soda and bleach would make ammonia gas, mixing leaping toadstool caps, knotgrass sprigs, troll blood, and magic of course, would make an invisibility potion. It makes sense. Hm, if Dazai randomly started actually trying in potions class how many people would be confused? That would be funny.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by a hand being placed on his shoulder. When he looked over at Blaise, Blaise tilted his head and looked to the right. Dazai followed Blaise’s stare and landed on four people who had entered while he had zoned out. He had really fallen off his game, what if someone who had wanted to hurt him snuck in and he hadn’t even noticed
The ones who had entered were Fred, George, Draco, and…Pansy? What was she doing here? Was she going to try and beat him up again? Kick him when he’s down?
His face must have been giving away his thoughts because Pansy quickly put her arms up in surrender before speaking
“Hey, can I talk to Dazai, alone?” Pansy asked, trying to force her voice to sound as saccharine as possible, to the point that it made Dazai want to puke
After Draco silently assured everyone in the room of Pansy’s pure intention, everyone slowly shuffled out
“Ok, uh, so, don't worry! I don't plan on hurting you, yet. I’m actually here to, um, apologize. I was jealous of the fact that Blaise and Draco liked you, I was stupid, and I didn’t know how to deal with that fear and sadness so I tried to hurt you.” Pansy said very awkwardly
“Yeah it was kinda obvious” Dazai said nonchalantly
“HEY! You piece of shit, I'm trying to be emotionally vulnerable and that’s all you have to say?”
“Ok, Ok, Ok, uhhhhh, I forgive you? I never actually held a grudge, but if it helps you then I forgive you. Do you want to join my gang?” Pansy glared at him “I'm sorry? I don't know what to say, uh, truce?” Dazai stammered, holding his hand out to try and shake hands with Pansy
“Truce, and I will join your stupid gang. I still hate you” Pansy grabbed Dazai’s hand and shook it
“Wouldn’t expect anything more” Dazai nodded
Pansy then turned and left
The rest of the day was a blur, eventually Hermione and Ron joined the group. Everyone was fussing over him, he blocked it all out. But Blaise never left his side
And he swore he never would
