Night Shift

What was that? Was the thought that was running through Harry Potter's mind that day. He was snickered throughout his morning classes because he was constantly spacing out and making the professors angry.
The realization of having to go to Potions made the Gryffindor want to use his book not to study, but to bang his head against it. Now he had to face Draco for the second time today and after that kiss? It was a soft and gentle one like the night before had been. This one had been hot and heavy like there was a tension that had suddenly been formed between the two, and not the rivalry kind.
Ron sat next to the brunette and was getting creeped out by Harry's behavior. Potter never acted like this unless it was about messing up in some way which seemed to happen one way or another every year. What could it be this time? The redhead decided to speak up.
"Um.. Harry? What's up with all... that?" He made a circular motion with his hand.
How was Harry supposed to explain what was going on to Ron? He hated Malfoy as much as Harry did. He would be enraged and betrayed to learn the Chosen One and.. whatever Draco was supposed to be were having some weird love affair. Was Ron even accepting of two men being together? He decided with a simple, "Nothing, just tired and this day is taking way too long." It didn't come to mind that that was a typical excuse that anyone would make.
Ron rose a brow and rested his head on the palm of his hand, shoulder holding him up against the table. "Really? You aren't like this unless something is after you or Malfoy got to you." Damn, Ron was too good of a friend to fall for that!
"Seriously, Ron, I'm ok. I was tossing and turning all night." Harry insisted.
"That is true," The ginger hummed. "All I could hear all night was you muttering and rolling around in bed." Looks like Potter was convincing Ron now. "Is it because you have to study with Malfoy?" Shit, Harry forgot all about that! He just couldn't get away from that damned Slytherin. But.. what if he just didn't show up? Professor McGonagall just had to understand if he told her Draco was being such a prick that he couldn't bear it anymore. Maybe if he got Draco in trouble, this whole running around at night and kissing in empty hallways thing would come to an end.
"Yeah, he's just frustrating me." Harry shook his head at the thought of the silver blonde's face.
"Hell, when will he just give up? He's gotten to you a few times, yeah, but with how much you ignore him you would think he would quit by now." Ron turned back towards the board. Looks like both of them would be pleading with Hermoine for notes later that night.

"You can't skip!" Hermoine said to Harry. Her wild hair was pulled up into a neat bun that day, a few strands of wavy chestnut locks framing her face. The trio had settled down for lunch in the great hall, along with the rest of Hogwarts students.
"Come on, Hermoine, you heard his story. I would do the same if Malfoy was bothering me like he bothers Harry." Said Ron, who was filling his plate with food, making Hermoine cringe and roll her eyes.
"Even if Draco is bothering you," She began. "skipping Potions won't make your situation better. If anything it will make it worse by getting in trouble with Professor Snape." She lectured. This wasn't what Harry wanted to hear. In fact, he'd rather not hear anything from Hermoine at the moment because he knew she would never be ok with something like this.
He decided to speak for himself. "I know, Hermoine. I considered that even before deciding to skip the class. I at least want to skip just one. Will Snape really be all that upset not seeing me?"
Ron chuckled. "Maybe not, but he'll take three hundred points from Gryffindor."
"That's what I'm saying!" Hermoine said, exasperated. "Everyone in the house will be upset with you, Harry.
Harry couldn't even feel bad. How could he when the opportunity to reset, to have time to think about what he and Malfoy were even doing. And what were they doing? Fooling around, experimenting?
"Yeah, I know. But if I get detention because of skipping class I can get my mind together. You have no idea how hard it's been dealing with Draco and his.. weird shit."
Ron and Hermoine exchanged a look. "What weird shit?" Ron asked.
"Just Draco stuff, you know. I thought you two should have dealt with it for long enough to just have to take a guess. We can change places if you like." Harry sealed the cover up with his signature mischievous smile. His two best friends could never doubt that look.
Hermoine sighed, flipping her styled hair. "Alright.. But I won't be in charge of convincing the house that you getting so many points taken from us was for a good reason again."
Harry nodded. "No need to worry," He spoke confidently despite his heart pounding from his nerves. "I don't need you to take responsibility this time around." The brunette stood and took his books in hand, already thinking about where he would hide out for the next hour and a half.
"Careful, Harry," Ron smirked. "Draco always seems to find you."
"No need," The Chosen One turned and began to walk away. "I know the right spells to keep him away."
