A Little Death

He might have screwed this all up. Making Harry Potter avoid him even more so than he had the previous years wasn't part of the plan. And now.. Draco began to doubt himself, which may be hard to believe. He thought Harry liked the kiss; he did kiss back after all. Who kisses back when they don't like the kiss, Draco thought.

Currently, Malfoy and Potter were in Potions, unfortunately or not sitting next to each other. The damned Gryffindor stared straight forwards, something he never did in this class. It was making the blonde Slytherin sitting next to him frustrated beyond belief. It was just last night that the two boys locked lips and now it was back to square one. What did a guy have to do?

Everything that Professor Snape was going on about was drowned out by Draco's impossibly loud thoughts, all except for: ". .class dismissed." This was his chance! To corner Potter and get the answer he wanted, the answer to his question. Why did their relationship suddenly change back to the way it was before the studying?

Draco rose from his seat, but by the time he looked over, Harry was already out the door. "Potter!" Draco shouted, quickly grabbing his textbooks and hurried out of the class towards Harry. No way was he letting the brunette get away again. He had been running and hiding from Malfoy all day, and Draco's patients ran dry.

They had almost missed their next class by the time Draco had caught Harry, and by the wrist, literally. Malfoy had a death grip on Potter's wrist, a burning fire in those grey eyes of his. "Malfoy, let go!" Harry ripped his hand away from the Slytherin. What is wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me?" Draco repeated. "That's the same question I want to ask you. Why the hell are you running from me? We kissed last night, you know. I would expect you to act like a girl and be all over me after that."

The brunette only scoffed and shook his head. "Talking about girls like that is probably why none of them want to be with you." Harry retorted. "And we didn't kiss; you kissed me.

"You kissed back!"

"I did not!"

It was a miracle how the two boys didn't fight again, though it was close. Draco's blood was boiling like hot molten lava inside him. How could Potter pretend that he was the one doing most of the kissing? Sure, Malfoy went in for it, but the Gryffindor didn't push him away or run off.. He kissed back, and nothing could change that fact. Draco wanted to get that across if he couldn't do anything else.

Malfoy pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, hand on his hips. "You look like my uncle doing that," Harry grunted.

"Seriously," The blonde looked back up to face a Harry with crossed arms. "It's not like you look any more mature, or act much more like it for that matter." He said, looking at how the brunette across from him looked like a child who hadn't gotten their way. Harry shook his head and looked at his feet in turn.

Malfoy stood there thinking for a long moment. "Why are you running from me?" He finally asked.

"I wasn't running," Potter shifted where he stood, kicking the ground with his foot. "I was walking quickly." Draco scoffed at this.

"Really, Potter. Why?"

"Because.." Harry began, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. "I don't know what to think of any of this. One day we have to study together as a punishment and another we're sneaking off to the school yard in the middle of the night like secret lovers. We aren't lovers, Draco. I don't even really know what we're supposed to be to each other.. But I know for sure that it's not in a relationship. I'm not even sure if I like boys, and if I did I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like you."

Oh, wow.. Well alright. Draco guessed he got his answer, but it wasn't satisfying.. It didn't sit right with him. It could be because he wanted a different answer, an answer that was more like: 'Draco, I like you, but I don't want anyone to know. Let's be together in secret and when we graduate we can live together.. What do you say?' But the Slytherin knew that he couldn't make Harry change his response, even if he wanted to.

"I never said we had to be lovers." The silver blonde said.

"But you want to be." Harry sighed. "You aren't as mysterious as you think, Malfoy. You're pretty damn easy to read."

Potter looked at Draco with those green eyes of his that absolutely killed him. Well, in the 'wow, those are some pretty nice eyes' sort of way. There was a long moment of silence between the two, and all over a sudden, they had grabbed each other and smashed their lips together in a messy, very uncoordinated kiss. Draco had Harry against the wall, but at a tug to his silver hair let the Slytherin know that Potter wasn't going to let him take the kiss over completely, that Harry still had some control.. And he liked it. He ate it up greedily.

The two pulled away, Harry nipping at Draco's bottom lip before letting his head rest against the brick wall he was pinned against. "Harry.." Malfoy panted. "Why can't you be with me?"

Round, emerald eyes stared at cold grey ones.

"I have to get to class, Malfoy.." And with that, Harry left back down the hall he had Draco running down to catch up with him a few minutes before. That was really all Draco got? 'I have to go to class'? Harry could have at least been kind enough to properly reject him. Not that that would have stopped Malfoy..

"Fine.." The Slytherin muttered to himself. "But this isn't over.."
