Interview
After a long night of crime fighting, Matthew Murdock sat in his office at Nelson, Murdock, and Page, sipping on a coffee that Foggy had brewed for him. Hearing his phone ringing, he picked up, setting down his coffee on the table below.
“Nelson, Murdock, And Page, This is Matt Murdock speaking.” He waited and after a slight pause heard a familiar voice respond.
“Hey ummm, this is Y/N. By any chance are you hiring?” He smiled. It had been a few days since he had interacted with Y/N on that rooftop the other night but he hadn’t forgotten about him. He was wondering if the kid was ever going to reach out to them.
“Yeah, we are. When are you free for an interview?” He asks, checking his mental clock in his head for a second. “We’re all free tomorrow around two to five if any of those hours work? It would be a low-key interview where you’d meet the team.”
“I’m free three." The kid responds.
"Great, we'll meet you then!" Matt responds. “Do you have any questions for me or the firm before your interview?” Matt asks
“I have one” the younger man hesitantly asks nervously.
“Shoot.”
“Did Daredevil tell you about me? Because he referred me to you guys”
Matt smiled. He wasn’t sure if the kid was going to bring up the night he (as Daredevil) had met the kid. “Not really, but if he referred you to us I know it had to have been for good reason.” He said.
“Okay. Um, also Daredevil mentioned that you’ve done some legal things for trans people so I’m assuming you’re at least chill with me being a trans guy? I don’t pass very well though but I go by Y/N so I’m not sure what name to put on my resume for the interview.” The younger one said over the phone in a worried tone of voice. If the kid was there, Matt was sure he'd hear his heart beat nervously.
“We’re cool with it. And resumes aren’t legal documents so just put your preferred name on it.” Matt offers.
“Thanks, Matt. Sorry if I took up too much of your time.” The kid answers.
“No worries and you didn’t.” The older man responds.
“Excited to meet you guys tomorrow at three.”
“Bye”
“Bye”
He hangs up the phone and walks over to Foggy's office, knocking on the door. Karen was in there as well so he was excited to tell them both.
“Hey, guys. We have an interview tomorrow at three for the secretary position with a young man named Y/N.”
Matt could hear the woosh as Foggy pumped his fist in the air expectantly “Finally!” Karen chimed in with “I’m excited to meet him.”
“I think he’ll fit in well here,” Matt says. “He seems to be a pretty great kid.”

The next day, Matt could hear a nervous heart rate and footsteps coming towards the office. He checked his braille watch and read that it was close to three pm. Almost time to interview the candidate and make sure that he got along with the others- something he was almost sure was going to happen and was just a formality at this point. He stepped out of his office with his cane in his hand to meet together with Foggy and Karen before the interview.
The footsteps become closer and the kid walks in the door. “Hi, guys!” The man said.
Matt steps up, holding out his hand for the younger man to shake. “Hello. I’m Matt. One of the Attorneys here. We spoke on the phone yesterday”
Foggy then shook the kid's hand next “Hey! I’m Foggy. I’m the other Attorney here.”
And Karen takes her tern shaking his hand last, “Hi! I’m Karen. I used to be a secretary here but now I’m a journalist and investigative reporter here.”
Matt gestures to one of the offices, “Shall we then??” He asks. They all settle into seats and the kid opens a folder and hands a few pages to each member. Matt smiles seeing that the kid had printed out a braille copy of their resume for him “I hope you don't mind. The business card I was given had braille on it so I looked you guys up and printed this for you, Matt”
“Of course not, thank you, Y/N”
Karen speaks up “Essentially, your job would be to-”

After the interview Foggy, Karen, and Matt all decided that Y/N was the perfect fit for the team. They decided to offer the job on the spot to them.
“So, Y/N, We’re all very impressed with you and would like to offer you the job if you’d like. You don’t have to answer right now, you can give it some thought if you need to. Absolutely no pressure. I think you would fit right in here with us and the job is yours if you would like it.” Matt offers.
The kid’s heart speeds up, “Really? I’d love the job. Thanks, guys! I’m super excited to be working with you guys and to get to know you guys better. Thanks very much for the opportunity.”
“Of course!” Foggy responds ecstatically.
