Do I want to write an AU?
Or a post-war?
Just both of them becoming unexpectedly gorgeous and glimpsing the other across the room. Trying to get the attention of the alluring person. Only for them to finally meet and one look in the eye causes realization.
Obviously Severus tries to play it off, but Hermione she figures why not. She's just been dumped. Why not flirt with he one man in the room that everyone is surprised to see attend the gala and, of course, the one man who has been catching many women's eye.
Surprised but deciding it wouldn't hurt to flirt a little, Severus plays along. Afterall he had heard about her recent single status and it was 5 years since he was her professor.
