Kitty

You played back and forth in the living room with one of your dolls. In your beautiful imagination, she was the great witch helping everyone with their problems, running around the villages from one side to the other, just as you were running around the hall of the Burrow, unintentionally making too much noise, perhaps more than Percy could stand.

He was trying to write down some important things he had learned, trying to come up with some novel idea to present to his companions, but the noise of your voice was beginning to bother his head. Unable to help himself, he quickly went downstairs and watched you running, while you laughed. He sighed, trying to keep his cool.

“Y/N.” He called, but you didn't seem to hear him. “Y/N!”

“Brother...” You replied. “I can hear your voice from the top of the den, could you lower your tone?” your cheeks turned red. “Sorry, bro...”

You sighed and denied. “It's okay... I'm just trying to concentrate.”

“What are you doing?”

“I'm trying to think of some novel idea given my subject assignments.” He looked at your confused expression. “Studied...” He said to make you understand a little more.

“Can I help you?” he blinked. “Uh.. help me? I guess.” He nodded without much thought, thinking maybe you could be calmer next to him than yelling all over the house. Maybe bad idea.

He watched as you looked too excitedly at his notes, the drawings. He almost had a heart attack when you picked up a color and approached one of the herbology books ready to scratch it. “NO!” he shouted helplessly, causing you to freak out.

“Sorry, I didn't mean to shout... but you mustn't scratch that, it's important.”

“Sorry, I wanted to make some nice drawings like the one here...” You pointed to one of the plants and he nodded, handed you some blank sheets and gave you the freedom to draw whatever you wanted, at least while he could think more quietly and calmly in the house.

He kept thinking, but only stayed on his name on the top of the parchment. Suddenly remembering a book he had given Ron to study, he decided to quickly go and ask him for it, hoping that reading it would enlighten his mind on some task or novel experiment to brag about later.

When you returned, you didn't expect that you had drawn a cute kitten on his behalf. You startled at Percy's presence and hid your hands. “I didn't...”

“Y/N... what did I tell you about...”

“I just wanted it to look nice. Your sheet looked very dull compared to mine.” You pointed to your drawing, one of the Burrow, extremely more colorful and bigger than it really was, Percy thought. His heart softened a little at the sight of your drawing and he zoomed in to see the cute little kitten you drew with a heart next to its name.

“You're right, it looks better that way.” He smiled helplessly and stroked your hair, you smiled taking advantage of the touch, as your older brother wasn't one to give many signs of affection to anyone in particular.

Percy took the parchment and rolled it up and put it in a box. It was a nice drawing you made with him in mind and he planned to keep it.
