Chapter 16
Perry
“Peter’s back.” said Candace at the table during breakfast. I couldn’t believe it. She had to be joking.
“You sure?” I asked.
“Yeah, I saw him at the coffee shop.” chimed in Phineas. “I think he misses you.”
I was in my closet, trying to find a cute outfit. Normally, I don’t bother with stuff like this, but this was a special case. I eventually found a cute blouse that matches my hair, a plaid brown skirt with orange edges, my orange sneakers, and my favorite fedora. Paired with my trench coat, it was the cutest outfit I’ve ever worn.
I was walking through the crowded hallway when I caught a glimpse of Peter’s silvery hair. I pushed through the crowd in the general direction of my sighting of him.
“PETER!!!” I called.
“Perry?” I heard him call. I ran to the sound of his voice. People parted so I could get through. He emerged from the crowd on his side.
I gave him a massive hug. “I missed you so much!” we said at the same time. I slapped him.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“You moved so far away.”
As it turned out, we have quite a few of the same classes. He has driver’s ed while I have band, but we have midday break at the same time (like everyone else). We went to the coffee shop to catch up.
“Well, it was really rainy there.” said Peter. “And the city was filled with smog. Here is like paradise compared to there.” It rains here quite a bit, too. But we don’t have as much smog.
We chatted for a long time before I got the chance to ask him something fairly important. “Who’s your villain now?” I asked him. I had to know.
“Well, I’m actually working with you to defeat Heinz Doofenshmirtz.” This came a shock.
“You’re working with me... to defeat Doof?” Could you say awkward?
It would take a whole lot of explaining to fix this.
