Chapter 15
Mordecai
There was this new kid in my class today. He had silvery hair and bright green eyes. The teacher sat down the new kid, Peter, next to me. The girl who would’ve been across from him was sick or something.
“Is Perry in this class?” He asked me after a while. “Yeah, but she’s sick or something.” I told him.
He listened to Plankton’s lecture on advanced physics. Our teacher expects us to be geniuses. But that didn’t stop him. It looked like he was thinking about something else. Or someone.
In gym, he was a tad of a show off. He can run long distances at a decent speed. He is an excellent climber. He climbed the rock wall in 20 seconds. Our teacher, Mr. Skips, seemed to notice this.
Mr. Skips pulled Peter over to talk to him in private. He asked Peter a question. Peter nodded. The teacher seemed to understand then.
Peter was very standoffish at lunch. I saw him on top of the outdoor rock climbing wall with a panda hoodie. I wanted to go talk to him, because he seemed cool. I walked up to the wall and put a hand on one of the rocks.
I tried to make it up. I couldn’t make it past five feet. Rigby climbed up it in a snap. He told Peter to come down so I could tell him how the school works. Peter peeked over the edge.
After we convinced him to come down, I tried to explain the whole school in all of its weirdness. “Okay, so, this school is weird. Every day, the teachers alternate classes. So, if you have Skips as your gym teacher, today, tomorrow you’ll have Mr. Lobster. It’s so we get a ‘diverse’ learning experience.” I explained.
“And to confuse us!” Rigby chimed in. It does get confusing for new people.
“You can get your driving licence once you start High School, if you go here. They offer driving class as an elective.” Peter nodded. “I knew that. I moved away in 8th grade. I knew someone who got their licence at 14.”
“There are dorms here. You don’t have to live in one, but you can if you can afford it. It’s mostly for people who live out of town. They’re pretty cheap. You can also stay in one for one night for five bucks. It’s nice if you need some alone time.” Peter nodded.
“There’s a shopping and food district on campus. Anyone can go there. There’s a nice coffee shop there.” I said as the final thing.
“Heh, you only like it because Magaret works there.” Rigby said slyly.
“And you only like it because Eilene works there!” I snapped back. That shut him up.
Peter walked off after a while. He was headed for the gardens. Maybe he was thinking of Perry. He did ask about her. Hopefully she comes back soon.
