Chapter 8
Ferb
On the second day of school, history was really cool. Before class started, (history’s my first class), I was reading a good book when Malcolm, the person who never seems to enjoy anything, started complaining that the teacher wasn’t there yet. Just as I was about to explain to him that the teacher probably had to do something, we heard a whooshing sound.
An old timey British police box started materializing in the corner. As it became solid, a man with glasses, a trench coat, and a metal pencil like contraption in his hands. popped out of the door. “Hello!” said the man.
“I am your new history teacher! You will call me ‘The Doctor’ or simply ‘Doctor; from this point in time on. Now, is this the year 2012?” The Doctor had a British accent.
“Duh. How can you not know?” scoffed Malcolm.
“Good question, sir. You see, I travel through time and space on my TARDIS. ‘TARDIS’ .stands for ‘Time And Relative Dimension In Space’, by the way.”
“What a nut,” whispered Malcolm.
“I heard that, Malcolm, and I can prove I’m not a ‘nutter’. Now, everyone, get in the TARDIS. I’m taking you girls and blokes to, let see, any suggestions?”
My hand shot up instantly. “Britain, last year.”
We got in a line and all wondered how we were going to fit in this “TARDIS”, as it’s the size of a phone booth. I was first, so when the Doctor opened the door, I was first to see it’s secret. I saw that it was bigger on the inside. I ran back out, looked all around it, saw that it wasn’t bigger than a phone booth, and went back in. Everyone did the same thing. Buford, who was second, shouted “It’s bigger on the inside!” just like everyone else.
I looked at the control panel, which was in the middle of the room, and saw an assortment of levers, buttons, screens, switches, joysticks, and other controls. Even Malcolm came up and stared at the controls in amazement.
“Now, class, find something to hold on to and don’t let go. I’ll need two students to help me fly this thing, so, any volunteers?” Me and Malcolm’s hands shot straight up. The Doctor had us pull some levers, but he did most of the flying. Still, it was cool.
We walked out and saw the Big Ben, London Eye, and some other stuff. I looked at a newspaper and saw it dated for 8/20/11. We had traveled back in time.
I have a feeling that this will be my favorite class.
