Peyton glanced up at Gwen every so often to make sure that she was okay with the whole thing.
The raven haired girl's mothers were raiding her with questions and for anyone that's in or have been in Peyton's shoes then you would know how embarrassing and awkward it is.
Every time a question was asked, Gwen would look up at Peyton for clarification and to see if it was okay to answer. It was a weird habit they had going on but it worked for majority of the night.
—"Well, you seem like a lovely girl and I would love to have you as my future daughter in law." Spencer assured before taking a small sip of her wine.
Gwen smiled with a simple nodded, "I would love to be your future daughter in law. It would be such a honor."
Peyton looked at her phone to see the time and then she stood up from the table. "I have school in the morning. And you two are hogging my time with Gwen, so can we go upstairs?"
"After you clean up the table and help your mother with the dishes. Girlfriend here or not, you still have things to do."
Peyton nodded before reaching over and quickly trying to gather the plates but her mom stopped her. "I was kidding. Go up stairs and get ready for bed. I want that door open at all times and go to bed at a reasonable time." Spencer gave her daughter that look before Peyton smiled and headed upstairs.
"Your mom's are really cool." Gwen assured as they reached Peyton's room.
The raven haired girl chuckled before shutting the door. "This is them when guest are over, wait until they get used to you coming over." Peyton pointed out before flopping onto the bed.
Gwen stood awkwardly as she glanced between the door and Peyton. "Didn't your mom just say not to close the door?"
Peyton nodded as she searched for the remote. "Yeah? So?" She asked as she continued to look for the remote.
Gwen cleared her throat. "I already made a bad impression on your mother already, I don't want to be the reason you get in trouble. You need to leave the door open." Gwen pointed out before walking over and opening it.
Peyton groaned, "there's no fun in that."
"Getting in trouble by my parents aren't exactly what I would think is fun." Gwen took off of her shoes and placed them at the door. "Besides, We can still cuddle and watch Tv. It's not like we were going to do something with your parents in the house."
"But I thought you like adventure." Peyton held herself up with her elbows as she pouted.
Gwen gasped from shock, "what have I done to you."
Peyton shrugged. "Well, there's a lot of things I can name but the timing wouldn't be very appropriate."
Gwen ran her hands through her hair as she sighed. "We aren't going to have sex."
The raven haired girl chuckled, "I know, I was only kidding." She says before she looked under her pillow and finally found the remote. "Here it is..."
"No, I mean..." Gwen sat next to Peyton as she chewed on her bottom lip. "I don't want to have sex until a month or so, maybe even longer."
Peyton raised her eyebrow, "why? Am I that bad?"
Gwen opened her mouth to speak but she felt her face heat so she quickly closed it shut and just shook her head.
"Then what is it?" Peyton asked in a more serious tone.
The shorter girl took Peyton's hand into hers and she searched her brown eyes. "I think our relationship or whatever you want to call—this—is based off of sex. Sure we flirt here and there but we don't do anything other then that."
"Oh." Peyton took her hand back slowly as she turned away. "We don't have to have sex. I'm not with you because of that, actually I'm not even with you." Peyton scratched the back of her head as Gwen rolled her eyes. "Well, I mean. We don't have to have sex. I would be with you no matter what."
"Really?"
"Yeah, just at least if I know I'm the best you ever had." Peyton smiled as Gwen playfully rolled her eyes.
—"You're the only I ever had." Gwen shook her head before reaching over and snatching the remote out of Peyton's hand. "And the only that I will ever have." She muttered before Peyton smiled and tackled her with kisses.
The taller girl wrapped her arms around Gwen as her lips pressed in a repeat against Gwen's cheek as the older girl Smiled and giggled like crazy.
"Is this okay? Or do we have to wait 1 month for kissing as well?" Peyton asked as she stopped and hovered over Gwen's lips.
The blonde hummed as she brought her index finger to her the bottom of her chin. "I don't know. How bad do you want to kiss me?"
"Not that bad." Peyton sarcastically said as Gwen pushed herself back as she was attempting to get off of Peyton but the raven haired girl turned her over and smiled. "I'm kidding." She then leaned and opened her mouth so that they can capture the older girl's bottom lip as she gave it a pull.
Peyton then brushed her lips against Gwen's as Gwen closed her eyes. It almost seemed as if it hurt.
The taller girl smiled as Gwen hummed against her lips almost as if she didn't want it to end.
Eventually, Peyton placed a soft lingering kiss before pulling back and moving Gwen's hair behind her ear.
"Peyton..." Gwen muttered as she chased Peyton's lips when the girl pulled away slowly.
"Yes?" Peyton asked with a smirk slowly forming on her face.
Gwen eyes opened as it seemed to flash in lust before she leaned up and pushed Peyton back. "I'm hot. Are you hot?"
"Some people tend to think so, yeah." Peyton joked as she watched Gwen face turn red and freak out.
"And when people are hot, they tend to be sweaty and that calls for a shower, right?" Gwen asked as she searched Peyton's eyes.
Peyton nodded, "yes but what does that have to do with-"
"You're sweaty?"
"No."
"Yes you are. You need a shower, so do I." Gwen got up and pulled Peyton towards the raven haired girl's bathroom as she locked the door and immediately brought Peyton down for a kiss.
—"I thought we were waiting for a month or something."
Gwen shrugged, "we can start after today, now help me with you pants." She said seeming a bit frustrated.
Peyton pushed herself off of the door as she unbutton her jeans button. "Okay, but my parents are still home. You will have to be very quiet."
"Quiet...I can do quiet." Gwen assured before she hungrily pressed her lips back onto Peyton's.
-
Gwen woke up to an empty bed as she frowned. She forgot all about Peyton having to go to school.
She was really starting to regret getting suspended. It would be so much better if she was if Peyton right now.
The blonde yawned as she reached over to her phone and looked at the time to see that Peyton must have left 10 minutes ago. It was still very early.
Gwen sighed as she got up from the bed. The sheets brushed off of her skin and a memory slipped it's way into her mind.
She was still very much naked and she didn't want to run into any of Peyton's parents. It would be weird.
So, Gwen got up and searched through Peyton's closet as she quickly found her an oversized sweater.
The blonde thought she would make herself useful and clean up a bit before she left to go back to her house.
What type of—almost—girlfriend would she be if she left it a mess after creating that mess.
Memories popped back into my mind as if the activities were just a second ago.
"My parents are going to get a little suspicious. We've been in here for 30 minutes already." Peyton pointed out as the water dripped from her lips.
Gwen fought for her breath all at once as she looked up at Peyton and pushed her blonde hair to the side. "Just 10 more minutes?" Gwen asked as she reached up, "a quick 10 minutes should keep me through the night."
"You said that 10 minutes ago."
Gwen smiled before pecking Peyton's jawline and then slowly pecking under Peyton's chin. "Is this convincing?" Gwen asked in a low tone. "How about this..." she trailed off before her lips caught with Gwen's skin as she made one hell of a mark on Peyton's neck.
The raven haired girl winced before groaning. "Fine."
Gwen was getting herself all fired up just off of a memory.
She quickly got her act together as she caught the glance of a note.
Why hasn't she noticed that before?
-
"You seem to be all happy and stuff. Who died?" Lane asked as Peyton sat down and playfully rolled her eyes.
She then took out some books and chewed at her bottom lip. "Gwen, she's the only reason why I'm happy to go to class."
"She's not even here."
"Exactly, but the faster I get to class, the faster I can get home to her."
Lame raised his eye brow and smirked, "you guys sharing a house already? I'm not surprised." Lane admits as teacher walked into the classroom. "Oh by the way, I've been buying you guys time with the whole having times to yourself and not having to worry about me but eventually we are going to have to get together and work on the project."
Peyton hummed as she marked her notebook with 2 words:
Peyton Calloway
As she drew a heart next to it.
Lane looked down at the paper and only shook his head. For some reason he was rooting for Peyton and Gwen, even if he barely knew their situation.
—"So, are you coming over to my house or do I have to go over to you and Guinevere's new house?" Lane asked as Peyton hummed. "Are you even listening?"
"Yes, I'm listening." Peyton looked up from her book and smiled. "You said Gwen and something about a house."
"I also said we have a project to finish." Lane pointed out as Peyton nodded, "So, are we going to your house or are we doing this project over at mine?" Lane asked as he raised his eyebrow once again.
The raven haired girl nodded, "Yes, project, my house, and Gwen right?"
Lane palmed his face as he sighed, "Yes, Peyton. Gwen too."
Peyton smiled. The smile didn't linger long because Jade walked into class late. She shot Peyton a smile and winked.
Who the hell did she think she was? Winking? At Peyton? The girl made it perfectly clear that they weren't friends and that she wanted nothing to do with Jade so it was very awkward and weird when the brunette did things like that.
"You and Jade are friends again?" Lane asked as he seemed to capture the moment between the two ex-best friends.
Peyton shook her head as she looked back down and drew a heart around the next words she wrote;
P+G
"I don't think I can ever be friends with Jade again. I don't like backstabbing people."
"Yet you want to marry one, I saw the whole 'Peyton Calloway' thing in your notebook."
Peyton raised her eyebrow, "are you team Gwen and Peyton? Or are you going to keep adding in your two cents to ruin us?"
Lane raised his hands in defense, "I'm just being real, is that a crime."
"No, but keep talking bad about Gwen and I will attempt one."
"Ms. Harper, Do I need to give you another detention slip?"
Peyton shook her head and denied.
-
The school bell rang and Peyton immediately started to pack up her things.
It was the last class and she was already waiting impatiently to get back to her house to Gwen.
A smile appeared on Peyton's lips as she thought about Gwen.
"Peyton..."
Her stomach turned as she heard the voice of her old best friend.
"I have nothing to say to you. You can just leave me alone and go about your day because you're wasting your breath on me." Peyton assured as she started to pack her things up more faster than she was before.
Jade reached out and stopped her as she frowned, "what happened to us? We were the best of friends." Jade trailed off as she looked down at the book Peyton had in her hand. "She has come between us and you know it."
"She has nothing to do with you being the bitch that you are. As my best friend I expect way more from you but I guess I need to watch out for who I call my friend."
Jade scoffed, "you're going to let years worth of friendship go over some girl that don't even want you!" Jade pinched the bridge of her nose, "why can't everything just go back to how they were?"
"You mean before I came out. Before I knew about who I really was?"
Jade shook her head, "No, I want to go back to the time right after that." Jade reached for Peyton's hand but the raven haired girl pulled back, "with all this time away from you, I have been thinking and I have realized that I have feelings for you, Peyton." Jade finally admitted.
Peyton shrugged, "why can't you get it through your head? It's over. It's not happening."
"But I know you feel something for me. Why can't you just be truthful and admit that you still love me. More than Gwen!"
Peyton grabbed her things and pushed past Jade as she made her way to the door. "You're nothing like Gwen, it's a shame that you even tried to compare you both."
"You will always love me more than her. You just don't want to admit it."
Peyton shook her head, "No, I just don't want to lie." Peyton sighed, "Goodbye, Jade."
Peyton then walked out of the room and headed for the locker room.
-
"It appears that you were suspended. I'm just now finding out about this because if I knew this then you wouldn't have been doing practice with us." The coach pointed out as he looked through his papers on his desk.
Peyton frowned, "Come on coach! It wasn't my fault for why I got suspended."
"Then who's fault was it?"
The Harper girl pinched the bridge of her nose. "What can I do to guarantee my spot on the team? I know there's something."
The coach shook his head, "sadly there's nothing. You get suspended and you can't play sports for a year. School rules." The coach closed the folder and folded his hands on top of them. "You can't play any sports until then. Whatever you did, I'm sure it wasn't worth it."
The coach got up as he was about to walk out, Peyton stopped him and took a deep breath. "There's this girl." She started, "Her name is Guinevere Calloway..."
"That blonde girl you seem to speak in here every chance you get?" The coach questioned as he crossed his arms.
Peyton blushed and nodded, "Yeah, her." She then crossed her arms. "I love her, Coach."
"Love isn't going to get you out of this mess."
"It got me into it." Peyton shrugged, "Listen, I'm not telling you to give me any extra attention or to treat me better than any of the others but you have to understand where I was coming from. I was only trying to protect the one that I love and if that's a crime then I will turn myself in."
The coach sighed, "you really love her? Don't you?"
Peyton nodded, "with all my heart."
"I'll talk to the principal and see if I can work out something. Just hold on to your jersey." He winked before heading towards the door. "I hope to see you at practice tomorrow. If you want to show the principal how much you want this spot on the team then you must do as much as you can and put in the effort."
—"I will do the best that I can, thank you coach." Peyton smiled as the coach left the room.
The raven haired girl then followed after but was stopped by the other calloway. "Hey, Peyton." Vanessa smiled as they walked towards the locker room.
"Hey, V. How are you holding up, now that your father is back in town?" She asked with her fingers brushing a lock of hair behind her ear.
Vanessa shrugged, "he's not much trouble. He says things here and there but it's progress from him not trying to send me away and back to some catholic school I guess." She joked from the pain. It was a forced habit.
"Hang in there, everything will be okay. That's what you have to believe." Peyton assured as she gave her a sympathetic smile.
The taller brunette cleared her throat, "how's my sister holding up? She didn't call me last night after she claimed to be heading over to your house. Is everything okay with her?"
Peyton nodded as she scratched the back of her head. "Yes, everything is okay. She was just a little busy last night."
Vanessa gasped, "No way! While your parents were home?"
Peyton shook her head, "I have no idea what you're talking about. All I said was she was busy last night."
"Yeah, she was occupied with you all over her. You dirty dogs."
The raven haired girl sighed, "I don't think it's appropriate to talk about my sex life with my..." Peyton cleared her throat, "with Gwen. Besides, you're her sister."
"Well, I haven't had much time with my sister and any gossip would be great. Just don't go into details because I don't want to know that much."
Peyton smiled before patting down on Vanessa's shoulder. "I'll talk to you later. I have to get home to that sister of yours." Peyton winked.
-
Gwen walked up towards her house as she sighed.
The blonde didn't even bother knocking, she had the key to her own house so why would she knock?
"Hello, Gwen." The blonde stopped in her tracks as she glanced over at her mother and father who were sitting at the kitchen table. "Are you staying the night at your own house tonight or are you going back over to Peyton's?"
Miles cleared his throat, "I would like to meet this girlfriend of yours."
Gwen shook her head. "I'm going home to Peyton tonight," she turned over to her father. "And no you can't meet her."
"I'm trying to accept you and you're pushing me away. Now when I send you to some catholic school like I did your brother—sister, my apologies." He raised his napkin up and wiped off his crumbs.
Gwen rolled her eyes, "this is exactly why I don't want you to meet her. You are being a real asshole, dad. You know Vanessa is a girl but you keep disrespecting her."
Miles sighed, "Listen, I'm trying here. At least I'm not some abusive father that hates his 'lgd' daughters. See, Daughters there, I said it." He scoffed, "it's bad enough that I'm not going to have any grandchildren."
"It's 'Lgbtq+', Dad. And you will, but at this rate, you won't be able to see them."
Miles shrugged, "Well, I just want to meet her. She sounds lovely enough to turn you inside out. She'll probably spread the gayness to your mother." He took a bite of his French toast.
"You're a jerk." Gwen rolled her eyes as she continued towards the stairs.
"I'm still your father! Jerk or not!" He yelled after her as she stormed up the stairs.
In Gwen's heart, she felt as if she was doing the right thing. She was standing up for what she believed in and she was doing it the way her mother and father taught her. But now she's the bad guy for actually listening and doing what's told. Why couldn't she ever win in life? It was like the world was against her for some much of the wrong reasons.
Gwen didn't have much time to gather a little bit of clothes because her phone started to ring.
Her heart fastened when she saw whom the calling ID belonged to.
She quickly accepted the call and raised the phone to her ears. "Did a certain tall raven haired girl miss me?"
"Not one bit." Peyton tried her best to sound as if she meant to but she failed miserably. "Did you miss me?"
Gwen scoffed playfully, "I should say no, but I missed you too damn much to lie."
Peyton's face heated, "did you like the note I left you?"
Gwen reached in her pocket as she unfolded the note, it read;
Dear Gwen,
I'm going to miss you while I'm at school, but people say when you're having fun then time goes by fast, so I'll be thinking about you all day.
From your Almost girlfriend.
P.S we need to work on that, I'm ready to just call you my girlfriend.
Gwen smiled at the letter as she read it for the 30th time that day, "I loved the note." She then folded it and placed it back into her pocket. "I have something for you too."
Peyton hummed, "and what's that?"
"Well for starters, my father wants to meet you and have dinner, I guess." Peyton groaned as Gwen smiled. "I told him no, but he insists so it's up to you."
"Can I think about it?"
"Yeah, take all the time you need, no one's rushing you. In fact, I'm rooting for you to say no." They both shared a small bit of laughter together before Gwen tugged her hands into her pants. "Hey, Peyton?"
"Yeah?"
"Look up."
The raven haired girl obeyed as she slowly looked up at the sky to see an airplane passing by, it held a banner with it saying the words: "Will you be my girlfriend, Peyton Harper?"
Peyton gasped from shock as she could see everyone else looking around and at her. "I'm so going to kill you. Everyone is staring at me." Peyton whisper-yelled into the phone.
"Forget about everyone else, the question is out there. Will you be my girlfriend or do I have to jump straight forward and ask you to marry me?" Gwen joked as Peyton chewed at her bottom lip.
"Of course. But I think this-"
"Please don't tell me you seriously said yes!"
Gwen heard the voice of another. It belonged to Jade.
"Peyton, baby, what's going on?" Gwen asked as she seemed confused. From her end of the phone all she could hear was commotion and muffled voices. "Peyton?"
"She doesn't love you like I do. Don't be with her, Peyton."
—"Go...I...can't..." Peyton's phone started to get a bit spotty.
"Peyton? What's going on? Do I need to come pick you up?" Soon the phone hung up and Gwen looked at it as she pulled it away from her ears. "What the hell." She muttered.
