Committment
"You got me a piece of paper. Thanks, Fraser." Ray grins, but makes no effort to unfold it. "Did the restraining order finally come through?"
"Ray." Fraser's tone is stern, but after all their years together Ray can see the amusement lurking underneath.
Ray unfolds the paper and starts reading it, his eyes skimming over the rows of legalese. "This is the deed to the cabin." He looks up, confused.
"Yes it is. Keep reading."
No longer sure Ray lowers his eyes to page and continues reading. When he gets to bottom he pauses and takes in a large breath of air. He opens and shuts his mouth several times before pointing to the last line which states that Benton Fraser and Ray Kowalski are now the joint owners of said cabin. With the paper clutched tightly in his hand Ray throws his arms around Fraser and buries his face in the crook of Fraser's neck.
Smiling brightly Fraser pulls Ray close, holding him firmly, but gently. "Happy Birthday, Ray. I love you too."
