Who's This

It was the next day and Ottie could barely contain herself in her booster. She had gotten up a whole 30 minutes earlier than normal, which for a 4-year-old who loved to sleep in late, was a lot. "You sure are up early kiddo." Her dad had said when she came bounding down the stairs half dressed, with an eager smile on her face.

"I don't want to be late" she said as she ran into the kitchen to try and grab breakfast which would have been less of a breakfast and more of an unhealthy snack.

"Now, hold on just a minute," he told her as he grabbed the back of her shirt to stop her from going into the kitchen.

'But daaadd" Ottie whined, quite annoyed with her dad.

"Don't worry I don't think you can be late for daycare," He spoke letting go of her shirt, confident that she wasn't going anywhere "Besides you have to wait for Susan to get up and ready for work before you can even think of going anywhere little one."

"Yeah ok" she said defeated.

"Hey, cheer up it won't be too long. Sit at the table and I'll get you a bowl of cereal how does that sound hmm?"

"Alright!"

But here dad had been wrong, she could be late for daycare, at least that's what Ottie thought. Susan had slept in and now they were a whole hour and a half behind schedule. Even though she was annoyed that she wasn't going to have as much time to play, she was still super excited.

"Alright we're here" Susan spat bitterly, she then got out of the car and proceeded to get Ottie out of her booster and up to the pizzaplex doors. Susan left her right inside the doors then walked back to her car immediately as she had the previous day. She scanned the nearby area for Jess and found her talking to a customer not too far away. She walked up to her and waited for her to finish, once she had finished talking, she still hadn't noticed her, so she tapped the back of her leg.

"WHAT THE FU-" She hadn't noticed Ottie in the slightest, so she was understandingly startled, "Oh Ottie it's you, did you get dropped off at the doors again?" She asked the small child.

"Mhm" she simply replied.

"Alright I'll take you to the daycare" She sighed annoyed, not that she was annoyed at Ottie it wasn't her fault, she was annoyed at whoever had dropped her off for not caring enough to actually know where she's supposed to be dropped off at.

She took Ottie's hand and started leading her towards the daycare. "We're here" She stated simply, which confused Ottie because instead of the big doors they went through yesterday, they were stand by a colorful hole in the wall with words above it which read "Slide into Fun", but Ottie couldn't read that well yet, so they meant nothing to the little girl.

"No we're not," Ottie stated utterly confused, "The doors are down there" She said as she pointed down the stairs.

"Well, that's where we went in yesterday, I figured since it was your first day, I would take you in myself but since it isn't your first day anymore, I figured you could use the slide."

"The slide?" Ottie questioned.

"Mhm, this right here is the entrance to the daycare that kids usually go through" she told her. Ottie just looked at Jess then at the slide then back at Jess. She seemed hesitant. "Go on, no need to be scared" she urged her with a tired but warm smile. Ottie slowly walked to the mouth of the slide and crawled into it, once she was sat flat on her butt, she pushed herself forward with her hands and went flying down the slide.

The slide was longer than she thought it would be but eventually she reached the bottom. When she did, she landed in the ball pit which she was not expecting. Another thing she wasn't expecting was that the lights were off in the daycare, and it was quite dark. She climbed her way out of the ball put and went looking for Sun, but before she could take more than a few steps she saw something that she thought was very odd, she saw something in the air, it was flying, if you could even call it that this thing was more so swimming in the air than flying. She was a bit frightened to see a shadowy figured bounding towards her in the dark but relaxed bit when the figure came closer and realized it kind of looked like Sun.

"Hello there little one, you sure are here late" The figure said once it landed in front of her, it spoke in a deep and sort of raspy voice, a voice that could easily turn unsettling and creepy but at least right now was very nice and soothing. "I don't recognize you; you must be new."

"Mhm I came here for the first time yesterday." She told this new animatronic which she didn't have the name of.

"Well, my name's Moon, what's yours" he asked calmly.

"Ottie" She simply replied, "I have a question" she told bot which she now knew was named Moon.

"Yes, what may that be?"

"Where is sun" She asked timidly, she didn't want to be rude, but she was curious where her friend was.

"Well he's on break," he replied which caused Ottie to look at Moon with confusion, "You see," he continued "Sun and I take turns, Sun takes care of all the kids when it's play time and all the lights are on, and I take care of the kid's when it's nap time and it's dark in the daycare."

"ohhh" She responded starting to understand, " Wait how come you weren't here yesterday?" She asked puzzled.

"Yesterday I wasn't working properly, but they got me all fixed up now" She nodded her head to show that she understood and was about to say 'oh' for a second time but was cut off by a yawn.

"Now how about we go lay down with the others, it is nap time after all" He prompted her noticing that she was growing more tired by the second.

"Alright" she told him, any other day she would have fought it because even though she loves to sleep in she hates taking naps, but she did get up early today and she was pretty tired, so she went along with it.

"Now since you didn't know about nap time, I'm going to assume you don't have any sleep clothes, yes?" She nodded her head in agreement. "Well, we usually keep extras around here I'll go get you one, stay right here." And without another word he leaped up into the air and disappeared into a hole in the wall which seemed to lead to a room. In just a few minutes he reappeared out of the room and flew down to where Ottie was still standing.

"Here you are" He said as he presented a sleep onesie to Ottie "It may be a bit big but it's the only one that we had that would fit." He then held out his hand for her to grab and she did so obediently, he then led her to a bathroom to get changed and told her to go in and change while he waited outside the doors for her.

She walked in the bathroom and closed the door, she then stared to change into the onesie. She had a bit of trouble getting it on at first but then quickly got it. She got it on the looked at herself in the mirror which she could see since the bathroom was made for small kids and had low sinks and such. Moon was right it was too big, but at least it was comfy. She looked at the onesie in the mirror taking in the colors and such, the onesie was half yellow and half dark blue with little cartoony faces of sun and moon one their respective sides. It also had a hood on it which when put on her head was so big it covered her eyes, but she loved it, nonetheless. After she was done looking in the mirror, she walked out of the bathroom to rejoin Moon.

"I figured it would be big, it's not to big is it" He asked her upon seeing her in the onesie that was definitely too big for the small girl.

"It's fine, I like it" she told him truthfully.

"Alright let's get you to bed" he said as he extended his hand for her to take, which she did, and they went over to where the other children were sleeping.

"Go ahead and lay down, I'll go get you a blanket" She laid down and Moon seemed to disappear into that same room from earlier and grabbed a blanket. By the time he returned though, little Ottie was already out cold.
