Superman: You and Maddie plan a dinner out with Buck and Dad and then cancel at the last minute when they’ve already arrived at the restaurant so they’re stuck on a date with each other

Carls: I left for five minutes to do laundry and you guys plan without me
Superman: sorry Carla
Chim118: we get off at 6 today, we can ask to do dinner after?
Mads118: but wouldn’t you just drive with them to the restaurant? Then we can’t cancel

Superman: tomorrow night? I’m gonna be at Abuelas cause Dad’s shift starts early in the morning
Chim118: and then they could stay out too late and Buck could stay over at your place

Mads911: I was thinking you, me, Chim and Eddie could go out
Buckaroo: uhh, why Eddie too
Mads911: oh
Mads911: well I was talking to Eddie after he babysat Jee yesterday and he said Chris is going to Abuelas because you guys start your shift really early
Mads911: so I thought he could go out with us
Buckaroo: oh, should I invite Hen and Bobby too?
Mads911: no
Buckaroo: ?
Mads911: no, Chim already asked, Bobby has AA and Hen has to be home with Nia and Denny. Also Athena is doing something with May and Harry
Buckaroo: Oh, okay, I’ll check and see if Eddie wants to
Buck turns his phone off and gets up from the couch and makes his way to the bunk room. Eddie is splayed out on one of the bunks holding his phone over the face. Buck takes a glance to check if there’s anyone else and flicks the light on when he sees it’s empty.
Eddie yelps at the sudden change of lighting and drops his phone on his face. “Ow, what the hell, man?”
Buck laughs and plops down next to him on the bed. “Mads wants to know if you wanna go to dinner tomorrow around six?”
“Maddie wants to go to dinner with me?” Eddie sits up on his elbows. “You better tell Chim,” he teases.
Buck swats at him, “dinner with us, weirdo. Chim’s coming too.”
Eddie chuckles, “ah, of course. Sure, why not?”
“Great!” Buck smiles. He yawns. “I’m gonna take a nap,” he says as he gets up and switches the lights back off. Despite the open beds, he’s cold, so he pushes at Eddie’s shoulders. “Scooch.”
“Oh my God, get your ice pack ass your own bed,” Eddie groans, but still moves over and gives him some space. Buck texts Maddie the update once he’s settles next to his best friend and steals most of the blanket.

Superman: yeah they’ve been sleeping in Dads bed together when Buck stays over because Buck says he doesn't want to disturb Carla’s stuff in the guest room

Mads911: Alright, Buck will probably text me once they’re both there and I’ll reply with the cancelation but I have no idea what to use as an excuse
Mayday: Jee’s having a tough night and you don’t want to leave her with Albert?
Mads911: That would work but Buck adores Jee he’ll be fine with me bringing her with

Buck relays the information to Eddie, who responds with a shrug. “We’re already here, right? Let’s just eat with just us.”
Buck nods. “Yeah, sounds good.” The server comes over with their drinks and they order their meals. When Buck looks back at Eddie, his eyebrows are furrowed, which Buck recognizes as his adorable(adorable? What the hell Buck?) thinking face. “What?”
“Why did Maddie invite me out?” Eddie asks.
“She said you told her Chris was gonna be at Abuela’s,” Buck responds. “And everyone else was busy.”
“I didn’t tell her that, we barely even spoke when she picked Jee up,” Eddie says. He opens his straw and takes a sip of his water.
“Huh,” Buck hums. “I don’t know, maybe Chris told her.”
“Yeah,” Eddie shrugs. “Probably.” Buck opens his straw halfway and blows through it so the paper flies at Eddie’s face. “You are so immature,” Eddie rolls his eyes half heartedly, laughter behind his words.
“You love it,” Buck replies with a chuckle. Eddie smiles and looks down for a moment before changing the topic of the conversation.
Eddie invited Buck to stay the night after dinner, as it was late and the restaurant was closer to Eddie’s place than his own.
Now, Eddie lays half awake next to Buck, who is scrolling through his phone. “What are you looking at? Go to bed.” He swats at him with one hand.
“Nothing important,” Buck sets his phone on the nightstand. He moves to lay on his side, facing away from Eddie.
After a few moments of quiet, Eddie blurts, “I think I like guys.”
Buck flips over. “What?”
“I think I like guys,” Eddie repeats. He takes in a shallow breath.
“Okay,” Buck shifts to be more comfortable against the pillows. “Why?”
Eddie flips on his back and runs his hand across his face. “I’ve kinda always been thinking about it. But Chrisopher asked me on Saturday.”
“Asked you if you liked guys?” Buck asks.
“Yeah. I think I’ve had crushes on guys before, but I loved Shannon and…” Eddie sighs. “I don’t think I actually liked Ana. Chris did so I wanted to, but…”
“I get it,” Buck says. “Congrats on the sexuality crisis.”
“Shut up.”

Chim118: okay, the boys arrived together

Superman: And?
Mayday: you're up early
Superman: this is important
Chim118: guys I think we were unsuccessful
