Chapter 1
Ei was fighting gods and abyssal creatures for centuries and centuries and the guilt she felt when she touched Miko was always here — for her hands are unforgiving and carved in blood and rough to the touch, made to prey upon but never to pray for, never to hold onto someone but to spar with. As she held her respiration, she would always observe Miko in silence. If she was the shadow then Miko was her light, the moon-crescent light was never as shining as her beautiful eyes, as perfumed than her rose-scented body, as enchanting than her rose-adorned hair, for she was an immediately recognised daintiness, for she is god-like to Ei’s eyes.
Yae silently looked back at her old memories while she was in Ei’s bed and suddenly glanced at her and asked her.
— Ei, would your rather be small enough to use leaves as umbrellas and mushrooms as a chair or big enough to catch stars and wear them as earrings?
— Hmm. she silently approached miko from behind, staying silent.
— Ei, she laughs, this is a serious question !
— Stop perturbing my sleep with your silly questions.
Miko pretended to be mad at her and cutely pouted and something shattered inside of Ei’s bones. Ei gently held her hand — she was afraid of breaking her, afraid of holding her too tight or never holding tight enough.
She looked at Miko tenderly — carefully caressing Miko’s body with her gaze. her moon-kissed hair was always shining like it was a field of crystallized fallen stars. Ei was holding back again and only looked at the object of her affection and Ei’s gaze felt like a sweet-scented breeze tenderly caressing her lover.
And the kitsune thought that she would be ready to wash her lover’s bloody hands so that she forget her scars. braid her hair with flowers so that her mind may finally rest. In the golden light, her lover’s hair were the same shade than the dreamy-pearly sky. Miko grabbed her waist. And suddenly yet carefully she took her in her embrace. Ei took her hand, miko took hers. Miko lips were so tempting and Ei could not hold back anymore -
She bit her tongue and kissed her like nothing existed anymore, like they were the two remaining people in the world and nothing never mattered anymore, like she would break anytime if she tried to stop the kiss. The kitsune tried to move away to stop her embrace while Ei was still gasping for air, they could hear their fast and deep breathing.
— So you became the target of my scheming again. Miko said, laughing. And Ei could feel like something possessed her. Her lips — like something poisonous. It feels like a fire was rushing through her veins.
