Lena Luthor wisnae hauf chuffed when she entered the L-Corp office tae find Kara Danvers waitin' fur her. It wisnae that she didnae like Kara, it wis jist that she wis feelin' a wee bit flustered. She'd been up a' nicht warkin' on a new invention, an' she wisnae sure if it wis ready tae be shared yet.
"Hey, Lena," Kara said, giein' her a braw smile. "Whit ye been up tae?"
Lena tried tae keep her voice calm, but she could feel her heart poundin' in her chest. "Jist warkin' on a new project," she said. "Nae ready tae show it off yet, though."
Kara nodded, her smile still as warm as a haggis on a cauld winter's day. "A'm sure it'll be amazin' when it's ready," she said.
Lena felt her cheeks turnin' red. She wisnae used tae compliments, especially no frae someone as bonnie as Kara. "Thanks," she said, tryin' tae sound casual.
They stood there for a few moments, neither of them sayin' anything. Lena felt her nerves startin' tae get the better of her, an' she wis jist about tae suggest they head back tae their offices when Kara leaned in, her lips pressin' gently against Lena's.
Lena felt her knees go weak. She'd been wantin' this for sae lang, but she'd been too scared tae say anythin'. But now, here it wis, happenin' in the middle o' the L-Corp office.
Kara pulled back, her blue eyes sparklin' with mischief. "Whit dae ye say we head back tae my place?" she asked. "A've got some whiskey an' a DVD o' Brigadoon."
Lena smiled, her heart suddenly feelin' lighter than a feather. "Sounds perfect," she said.
As they headed tae Kara's apartment, Lena felt a sense o' calm washin' over her. She didnae ken whit the future held, but for the first time in a lang time, she felt like everythin' wis gonnae be awricht.
