Kickin’ it Hanukkah style
Wanda could only laugh as her brother zipped around the room, checking out all the recording equipment. It had taken her and Pietro over a week to settle on the song that they would sing for the holiday album. Most of the time had been spent arguing over what kind of song to sing. Though both celebrated Hanukkah even she had to admit that most of the songs for the season were Christian. Those that weren’t tended to be focused on winter, which meant they were an option, but she had wanted to add some of their culture to the album. Which was not going to be in the form of the “Hanukkah Song”, no matter how catchy it was.
“Pietro, enough. If you keep bothering the bots we shall never get this done.”
“Come on, Wanda, let me have a little fun. You’ve been down here already with Vision; this is my first time seeing everything.” Pietro pouted at her as YOU snatched the microphone from his hand with a slightly annoyed whrr.
Her brother did have a point. Vision had brought her down here even before the team had started to record the album to ask for her advice on what would be appropriate for a radio station. Admittedly she wasn’t much help as growing up in Sokovia she and Pietro had listened to music that was completely different than what they heard often in the compound. Much of the music the other Avengers liked was too loud and angry sounding to her, though she did admit that Evanescence and Kansas weren’t horrible. Unfortunately Tony generally basted AC/DC or Black Sabbath at high volumes instead.
“You could have come with me one of the times.” She pointed out.
“And interfere with one of your dates?” Pietro started, coming up next to her, “No thank you. Don’t get me wrong, I am… happy…. That you have found such a good boyfriend. That doesn’t mean I want to watch the two of you make eyes at each other.”
“That’s a little unfair.” Wanda huffed, “We are not that bad.” At least she didn’t think they were that bad. Seeing her brother’s eye roll she decided that it was her duty as the older twin to find him a girlfriend. If for no other reason than giving her something to tease him about.
Pietro gave her a look that said he knew she was planning something but let it slide. “Are we ready?”
“I have just been waiting for you, brother.” She reminded him, holding out the pages with the lyrics written out.
Taking them Pietro let out a pleased little hum, “You are sure you are alright with singing this one?”
“Yes. Since I will be the one singing. You will handle the other part.” She smirked, “If you think you are fast enough.”
“Nothing is too fast for me,” came the prideful and well deserved boast right as the music started up.
“And while Avengers are playing
(Holy Days, Holy Times, Holy Lights!)
The bunsen-candles are burning low
(Each day, each night, a new light!)
One for each night
They shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago
(Holy Days, Holy Night, Holy Lights!)”
