Summer Of A Lifetime
The lazy glow of the sun awoken the house of the Hamato’s. Not that anyone got any true rest to begin with, it was the first day of summer vacation, that means that the kids of the family were restless! After a grueling school year and fighting crime along with it as ninjas they were ready to just kick back and chill. The youngest brother slid down the stairs to start working on breakfast. He smooths out his orange shirt and fixed his curly hair up, decorating it with colorful stars and beads.
With a stylish twist of the arm he flipped the pancakes he started making. The sweet smell of the filled the house. Leo practically floated down the stairs, it made his the fact that he died his hair blond became more obvious as his roots jumped out as he did. His twin followed him down, though not as energetic. But his hair was died with purple fades so he didn’t need to bounce in order for it to be seen. Raph was the last brother to come down, but not before tying up his dark hair with a red bandanna.
Their dad Lou came down with their mom who the affectionately nicknamed her Big Mama by the time Mikey was finished making the sweet fluffy pancakes. “Hey fam! I made some awesome dough!!! Eat up cause we have no time to waste, summer vacation baby!!!” Mikey chirped happily. He threw his hands up in a celebratory way.
“Thwnkz biby dro!” Leo said with his mouth full of the breakfast.
“Do you mind swallowing your food before saying anything instead of talking with your mouth full like an uncivilized slob?” Donnie said monotone as he always would, moving Leo’s hair away from his face so he doesn’t eat any of it.
“Sorry baby brother~!” Leon grinned.
“By 4 minutes.” Don rolled his eyes in response.
“Still counts!” Leo gave him a snarky look.
“Can the 2 of you cut it out with your middle child nonsense?” Raph tried to end the argument.
“STAY OUT OF THIS!” The twins snap at the oldest brother.
“I swear, if all of you don’t stop fighting right now I will go Dr. Delicate Touch on all of you.” Mikey added an evil laugh at the end. That successfully made everyone quiet as they sunk into their chairs’.
“Great everyone! Now let’s eat!” The orange obsessed teen stuffed his mouth as quickly as possible.
“Michal, slow down! You don’t want to lose a finger now.” Splinter said with humor.
”Sorry dad! Just really excited right now!” Angelo flapped his hands enthusiastically.
“If you’re excited now, I’m kinda scared on how excited you’ll all be when me and your father tell you what we have planned my baby boo.” Mama laughed under her breath. The brothers all perked up and looked with interest. Mama slyly smiled and didn’t say anything for a bit, even as they all began to grow impatient. Mikey squirmed in his seat restlessly. Soon the other brothers did something similar.
”Mama!!! You can’t just say that and not add anything after! What do you have planned!?” Mikey blurted out. He couldn’t hold it in anymore.
“Yeah! You gotta tell us.” Leo agreed.
“I would also like to know.” Raph chuckled. He was a little nervous but he was already controlled by the impatience.
“I agree, you even have MY interest peaked.” Donnie added at the end. He sounded more lively under fascination.
“Ok, ok now. Since you’re all so eager.” Big Mama clears her throat. Splinter looked very excited and hyper as she opened her mouth. “Me and your dad-“
“WE ARE GOING ON A ALL SUMMER CRUISE!!!” Splinter interrupted. “We even got extra tickets too so you can invite some friends. I already know April and Sunita will go but you can all bring 1 plus 1, a personal buddy of yours for us to meet and bond with.”
The once silent neighborhood was filled with joyful, happy, absolutely excited cheers and screams. The 4 teens were giddy at the news, this is going to be a absolute dream! “We already asked April’s parents and Sunita’s, you need whoever your bringing to ask their parents.” Big Mama added at the end of Splinter’s thrilling speech.
“OH ME GOSH!!! THIS WILL BE REALLY FUN!!!” Mikey yelled. He already had the perfect person in mind on who to bring. He met a boy in his art class named Alex, they often shared graffiti designs with each other and talked about skating. The two have grew close throughout the year and now their best friends! The 2 had a lot in common with each other, on the same level of energy. They always had a blast when hanging out with each other so him joining the trip would be a dream!
He was so cool if you asked Mikey. He had a very positive attitude about almost everything, with a winning smile to go with it. He had pretty dirty blond hair and these freckles that basically painted his face, they were light so not very noticeable from afar. Mikey found them really cute. And his eyes were this dazzling blue color that could make the ocean jealous of him.
Angelo always thought he was very handsome, any girl would be lucky to have him. But just because he finds him attractive and cool doesn’t mean he likes him like that! It’s normal to find your friends good looking and to want to be close to them, physically and mentally.
He’s sure that his brothers will like him.
“EEEE!!! I GOT THE PERFECT PERSON IN MIND!” Leo cheered. This is the perfect opportunity for them to meet his best friend Usagi! If he was allowed to come that is. Ever since Yuchi laughed at one of Leo’s terrible jokes in the middle of class they formed a bond. With the same bad sense of humor and charm the 2 clicked instantly. They both were good with swords and knew a few magic tricks. He was the first person that Leo thought was at the same level of cool as him. And they were both face men!
If you asked the blue cladded teen he would say that Usagi was his most handsome friend, with long hair tied up in a ponytail, stunning red eyes that reminds him of rubies, a glowing smile that could make the sun shining at its brightest jealous, complete with a dorky overbite that was just so adorable he couldn’t make fun of him for it. Yeah, they were besties! Normal to want to be near him and to want and cuddle with him and never let go. The ultimate duo of 2 face men. He couldn’t wait for his brothers to meet him, it would be fabulous.
”I got someone too. I’m not one to be emotional but EEE HAHAHA! This will be fun!” Donnie smiled. He was very excited. After being kicked out of the Purple Dragons (they were criminals so it was for the best anyway) he joined the school’s official tech club and met his friend. His name is Kevin.
The 2 love learning different kinds of codes and hacks together. He had the tendency to over explain himself and he’s just a very awkward person in social situations. But he is one of the nicest people Don has ever met, always has respect for others, loves giving complements to people, and just always acts his best.
Donnie admired that about him. He was the sweetest and he was very good looking too, well at least if you asked the purple loving teenager. He had really soft hair, a fluffy dark brown, he always wore rusty colored t-shirt that complements his olive brown skin perfectly, he had deep dark eyes, and a kind smile. Normally he would hate the idea of anyone touching him that wasn’t family and even then not always but with his friend… he didn’t mind it. Maybe it was just a best friend thing.
“I got someone too! I think you’ll like him! EEEEE!!!” Raph clapped his hands. He had a best friend too! His name was Elijah, but he called him Eli. They met at a sports meet, he wanted to try out for the football team and his friend wanted to as well. He was very outgoing and confident which amazed the red wearing teen. He is always there for Raph, he is that friend who always got your back. Even though he is this “macho man” he never made fun of others for their interests or for showing emotions so Raph could go to him for support too.
The two love talking about wrestling and baking. 2 extremely different things but both things they like to do. And if you asked Raph, his friend was quite attractive.
If Raphael could describe his friend when it came to looks it would be tall, dark, and handsome. He is shorter than Raph but taller than a lot of other people so it counts. It didn’t help with the fact that his friend was a bit of a flirt and he could never tell if he was joking or not. But hey, he loved being his friend! He cared about him very much and this would be a great opportunity to introduce him to his family! He’s sure they will like him.
“Well, what are you waiting for? Go call them and if their parents agree tell them to meet us at Coney Island Beach to board the cruise.” Splinter gave all his sons a smile.
All 4 of them rushed to their rooms to grab their phones.
“Hey there Alex!”
“Sup Usi!”
“Salutations Kev!”
“Hi Eli!”
The brothers said their greetings.
“Hi Mikey! What’s up- WAH!”
“Hey Leo! Why you calling me- SHIT!”
“Hello Donnie! Need anything- LISA DO NOT EAT THAT!”
“Hi there Raph! Why are you calling me so early, missed me or- ACK!”
Their respective friends said hi but were cut off by different things. They know each other so well by now they could make a good guess on what happened.
“Fell off your board again?”
“Dropped a drink?”
“1 of your little sisters trying to eat something she shouldn’t?”
“Tripped on your own feet?”
A sigh can be heard on all of their ends.
“Yes. This is going to bruise.”
“Yep, I didn’t even get a chance to try it. A sad fate for my boba.”
“Yeah! I swear Lisa has been out of control since she became 4.”
“Yeah, uncool, I know man. Please don’t go on your speech on ‘paying attention’. I know.”
All calls share a laugh together. They all must gather themselves. Time to ask the question.
“Spend the summer of a lifetime with me?” The 4 brothers deadpanned. They should have added more context because a lot of confused sounds came out of the other end.
“Well you see- my dad and mom got these cruise tickets and we have extra so… yeah you’re my first choice. Could you please ask your mom if you can go?”
“My parents got these tickets for this awesome cruise ship and we got extra and I thought it would be fun if you could come if your aunt allows it.”
“Mama and papa bought tickets to a cruise and I wanted to see if you could go. You should ask your dad and mom.”
“So mom and pops have tickets to a cruise ship and I wanted to know how do you would want to come, only if your dads allow it though! No pressure if they say no.”
As they would expect happy cheers came from their friends on the call. All of them sounded thrilled about it, if only they could see the smiles on their faces.
“Heck yeah Mike! With you their it would be a blast! I gotta ask mom.”
“Of course Lee! I can already -pfft, sea all the ocean puns we can make! Let me ask auntie though.”
“Yes! I- that sounds amazing Don! Need to ask my parents, wish me luck!”
“What kind of question is that? If it means hanging with you I’ll go to the desert! Let alone a awesome cruise! I’ll ask my dads.”
“Aw! Thanks, go ask ya mom.”
”HAHAHA! Looking forward to it Yuichi! Praying for your aunt to say yes!”
”Wishing you the most favorable outcome. Hope they say yes, it would be even more fun if you were there!”
“Pfft, flatterer. Hope it goes well if your dads!”
The line went silent as they gathered the courage to ask their guardians. As time passes the antsy felling built up. What if they say no?
”I CAN GO!!!”
“SHE SAID YES!!!”
“THEY BOTH AGREED!!!”
“BOTH DADS THINK ITS A GOOOD IDEA, I CAN GO!!!”
Cheers of celebration were shared by all of them. They wished their goodbyes, told them the place they need to go, and the brothers rushed their ways to tell their parents. They will be leaving tomorrow!
Like they all said earlier, this will the summer of a lifetime!
