Plot Line

Izuku, amazed and scared of his findings, ran to a park (thus skipping school) to study every manga. He wanders home, emotionally stunned and exhausted, then hides the dimensional bag. His mother fusses over his health and then lets him sleep.

He goes to school the next day, and Bakugo tells him to kill himself. He remembers the chapter Bakugo saved him in the manga, then tells him okay. Bakugo is shocked, but one of his followers attacks Izuku and cuts his eye. The gore shocked and stunned the class as Izuku was maimed before their eyes. One of the Midnight boys sees the attack through the window and rushes to save Izuku. The teacher wonders if he could report this when the follower tries again, only for Bakugot to explode him, saving Izuku.

The Midnight Boy calls for backup -Midnight, Detective Tsukauchi, and the three other Midnight boys. Midnight would take Izuku to a hospital after an ambulance refused while the others examined the crime scene.

Izuku wakes up at Midnight talking to a nurse about the quality of his care. He thanks Midnight and then asks for the discharge papers. Midnight tries to keep him in the hospital, but he bypasses her and tells the nurse he is quirkless. The nurse quickly forges his documents to give him a minor quirk, then berates Midnight for bringing a significant liability to the hospital. Shortly afterward, she escorted them out through a side door and told Midnight she would bill her agency.

Izuku thanks Midnight for the help and then walks home, realizing he missed All Might and his chance for One for All. Midnight refuses to let him walk him home alone, especially half-blind and disassociating and drives him home. He quietly asks if she could create a private bank account for him and let him design merch for her. She agrees and drops him off at home.

Izuku uses his week off from school to stabilize his connection to Midnight and avoid his mother. He emails her dozens of designs, an analysis of her powers/weaknesses, and suggestions to improve her Midnight Boys. She is baffled a child can produce high-quality merch and studies her behaviors but sends his designs to the financial board of her agency. Izuku scores a 30/70 earnings deal with additional benefits (personal contact with the midnight boys, material budget equal to 10% of the earnings per month, access to the agency, free verbal promotions, free hero signatures/merch, and one favor per year). A few days into his retreat Detective Tsukauchi questions him regarding the attack. When he was asked about Bakugo's provocations (telling him to khs), Izuku lies and says it was fine. Eventually, Tsukauchi calls him on his lies and asks for the truth. He tells him he wants to see what Bakugo would do and if he still cares about him. When asked if he was mentally stable, Izuku stayed quiet. (The Detective sends Kaniko to watch over him.)

Izuku goes back to school despite protests and watches everyone's reactions. Bakugo is very quiet and only glances at his eyepatch. The blond corners Izuku when the greenette is halfway home and asks what kind of reaction he had during class. Izuku's answer: was that he was tired and wanted to be helpful. Bakugo backs away, trembling, then leaves.

During class, Izuku doodles designs for Midnight, Present Mic, and 13 while thinking about his action plan. He becomes an informant for Detective Tsukauchi using his wits and the manga stored for advice. Then he spends his wealth on building support gear, scouting locations, and training his body. Halfway through the year, he tracks Mei and tells her about his need for an eye. They work out a deal (Izuku provides her with some materials and blueprints and promotes her inventions, and then she will build him support gear for free or at a discount). She crafts an eyepatch that can analyze people, record information, take pictures, and upload photos and emotes according to their emotions. (It takes time to upgrade to that level). Kaniko takes this moment to introduce herself to him, and they spend a lot of time coming up with ideas together.

During one of his excursions, he accidentally wanders into the villain attack that defines Kirishima's personality. Izuku recognizes Giganmatcia and sees Mina running around the corner but recognizes a moment to remove a significant threat. He waits until Mina gives him directions and then tells her he can lead him to the location. Mina and Kirishima try to drag him away, but Izuku tells them he will be alright.

He leads Gigantmatcia away from the city, not knowing that Kirishima is secretly following him, and eventually attacks the giant. The giant rampages in rage, destroying rocks, trees, and earth. Izuku sends Detective Tsukauchi and Midnight a message while leading Gigantmatcia farther away. The greenette records the whole fight and tests all the equipment Mei has provided him, ensuring they are sending constant reports. He throws a vial of Midnight's smoke into Gigantmatica's mouth, hoping it would make the beast sleep. He dodges and deals attacks for over an hour before slipping directly into a punch, launching him over the forest line and back into the city. Gigantmatica pounces on the opportunity, only for Kirishima to block the attack, instantly losing consciousness from the blow.

Izuku shoots himself with adrenaline, turns all his support gear on overdrive then rushes to save Kirishima. He barely manages to deflect a heavy hit and then throws the teen across the street. As soon as Kirishima was in safety, Izuku was hit in the chest, breaking all three reinforced plates and activating the last-second equipment underneath. He raises a broken arm to shoot two vials of knockout smoke at Gigantmatica before passing out.

Izuku wakes up in the hospital once again, but this time Detective Tsukachi is there to greet him. He is thoroughly questioned on his involvement with Gignatmatica and why he attacked the villain. He explains he was out testing support equipment and searching for locations to build temporary bases for when he dabbles in real estate and recognizes Gigantmatica. (He wanted to build bases for visiting heroes or emergency medical care). Izuku carefully explains he knows who the villain is from an unknown source placing information in a manga. When asked what he knows, he says that Gigantmatica is a simple-minded, multiquirked villain working for All for One. He explains that he does not give out information to the Detective that has not been verified. And he fought the villain because his tip stated that he was a significant threat that needed to be removed immediately from a populated area.

He explains, "...as a quirkless, disabled nobody with no value in our society, my life is expendable. I thought I would die, but I was prepared to send any information I could gather."

Kirishima busts through the door, covered in bandages and casts, yelling at Izuku for saying something like that. He explains that Izuku inspired him with his planning, courage, and physical abilities, quirkless or not. The black-haired boy preached how amazing Izuku's fight was and that he was a true hero for saving people's lives without thinking of his own rewards. Kirishima declares he will be a hero like Red Riot and Izuku no matter what.

Midnight comes in and asks Detective if he asked all the questions he needed to. The Detective nods and leaves the room for Izuku to rest.

Izuku is discharged two weeks later. He had two broken arms, all his ribs broken, one pierced lung, a fractured skull, broken hips, a ruptured liver, and permanently missing a leg and an index finger. He is driven back home by Midnight and is immediately grounded. During his punishment, Gignatmatcia was broken out of prison, and they didn't know where he was located.

As soon as his punishment was lifted, he sent a literal truckload of materials and extra money to Mei for her to create him a new leg. Then he returns to honing his skills. He added a kama, manriki-kusari, and blow dart to his main weaponry; cat claws were for emergencies. Kaniko joins him for many training sessions, ensuring he pushes his body only a little. During one of his training sessions on the trash beach, he meets All Might. All Might is surprised to see the beach halfway cleaned by a boy missing a leg, eye, and finger. He watches Izuku skillfully lift things much heavier than him with the clever use of ropes. He deadlifts on odd days of the week using his poor-quality prosthetic leg for training.

He asks All Might if he could be a hero despite being quirkless, and All Might crush his dreams again. Many hours later, Kaniko, informed by a worried Inko, searches for signs of the greenette at the beach. She eventually finds a small trail of blood. She follows it to find Izuku sitting in an alley, slowly and shallowly cutting his arms. She doesn't say anything, allowing Izuku to focus back on her. He tells her what happened the day the bag fell onto his face. How hopeful he felt, thinking he could help with probable information. The profound empty nothing he felt when Bakugo told him to end his life. Then he corrected himself; he felt a spark when he said okay. It would prove his existence one way or another, either Bakugo would save him, or he would no longer be in the way of a new hero's growth. Then the warmth he felt creating gear, giving Detective information, spending time with his friends, and seeing his merchandise behind store windows. The burning fire of justice he felt when his eyes laid on Gigantamachia. Now the deep, endless cold bite of All Might's words. Kaniko hugs him and lets him weep on her shoulder before tending to his wounds to care for him at home.

The following month was full of quiet agony. Mei, Izuku, and Kaniko worked on dozens of projects with Midnight's approval. Eventually, they built a fully functioning eye that Izuku usually placed his advanced eyepatch over and a new customized leg for him. Contrary to the positive atmosphere, Kaniko consistently noted and reported Izuku's dwindling mental stability. She would catch him disassociating during brief moments of rest or fidgeting with his finger replacement. Sometimes she would watch him reach into his nondescript black bag and pull out a manga, only for him to snap it closed and then place it back into his bag.

Midnight picks him up from school and takes him to her home. She lets him stay for a week, hoping he would slowly warm up to the pro hero and possibly talk about what was going on in his mind.

During his week-long stay with Midnight, Bakugo approaches him one more time. He doesn't attack but gives him a bag of bentos filled with homemade katsudon. Izuku doesn't feel the warmth.

Izuku starts to search for the future villains in the series. He manages to wrangle Himiko, send accurate information on the Shiki Hassan, have Magen tracked, and eventually have Stain wounded.

He runs himself ragged, working himself to the bone until he collapses on the beach. All Might finds him and takes him to a hospital and is startled when Detective comes with Midnight to check on the teen. They whispered about his achievements, which baffled All Might. He asked if he was genuinely quirkless, and they insisted he was. Nezu, listening in from All Might's phone, asks if Izuku would like to attend UA. Midnight admits she tried to convince him to enroll, but the greenette believed he would never amount to anything. He registered in a low-level, online college.

Nezu now demands to meet this child and Midnight calls Inko to tell her the news. Inko, skeptical but trusting of the R-rated Hero, gives them a chance.

The next day, Izuku is greeted by Kaniko, hugging and fussing over him. The older woman scolded him for an hour until Inko came and joined her. After his scolding, Midnight came and picked the three of them up to take him to UA during a school day.

Izuku is excited to see UA University and rambles about all the facts he knew about the school on the way there. Kaniko laughs at Midnight, slowly regretting her decision.

When they walk into the University, Kirishima notices and gushes over Izuku. His hair was spiked in the front, shaved, and dyed dark green. He tells his classmates (Mina, Hanta, and Mezo) about the fantastic things Izuku did and asks Midnight if Izuku could show them some things. She tells him that she has to ask Nezu. The rat appears out of nowhere, exclaims he would love to see what Izuku could do, and encourages him to follow class A and B courses for the day.

Kirishima is hyped about having his savor follow him through school and wraps an arm around his shoulder.

Midnight leaves Izuku in Kaniko's care and teaches her own class. The duo

quickly swarmed by the class, and Izuku suffers from overload.
