In which Peter gets a job
"Mr. Stark! Look! I got a job!" Peter slid into the lab beaming.
A job? Why did the kid need a job?
"Great!" Tony tried to sound excited. The kid would be away more if he had a job. Tony didn't like that.
"What?" Peter drooped a little.
Damn it! Tony could never keep his poker face up around the kid.
"Nothing," Tony mumbled. Peter folded his arms.
"We both know that's not true," Peter spoke authoritatively.
"Fine!" Tony cried after Peter pinned him under an intense look, "I don't see why you need a job! You have your internship! Is that not enough?"
Peter cleared his throat, "Mr. Stark you don't pay me. The internship is just a glorified name for me hanging out with you."
That was true, but Tony really liked hanging out with the kid.
"That's true," Tony admitted sadly. He didn't want to stop spending time with his son. A smile spread across Peter's face.
"It's okay Mr. Stark, I will still do my internship," Peter said and gave Tony a big hug, "No amount of money could ever make me not spend time with my dad."
Tony smiled. Of course the kid would still come around! He hugged his son back.
"Thanks kid, and hey, I am very proud of you for getting a job," Tony affirmed his son, "Where did you get hired?"
"Mcdonalds."
