In which it is baby vs genius
Tony looked into his tiny daughters eyes. She made a small dismayed cry and grabbed his beard.
Tony frowned and watched Pepper's car leave the driveway.
"Mommy!" The baby pleaded. She had picked up talking fast.
"I know kiddo. I don't want her to go either," Tony muttered. He had begged Pepper to stay.
He had no idea how to care for a baby alone.
He could figure it out. He was a genius after all.
"Alright Moe, let's go inside," Tony sighed and went inside.
Tony plopped down on the couch, Morgan draped over his shoulder. He read over the list that Pepper had given him. He could do this.
Tony exhaled tiredly.
Morgan yawned.
"You ready for a nap?" Tony mumbled. He was.
Morgan closed her eyes and nestled her head into the crook of his neck. That was a yes.
Tony closed his eyes to sleep, and as soon as he had Morgan grabbed a handful of his hair, and yanked. Tony's eyes shot open.
"Ow! ow! hey! stop!" Tony was very awake now.
Morgan laughed. She yanked his hair again.
"Stop kiddo!" Tony cried. He was probably going to start losing hair soon anyway. He didn't need help.
Morgan laughed again. She gave him a mischievous look.
"Don't do it!"
She smiled.
"No!"
She screeched, and yanked... Hard.
"I said no!" Tony tried to pulled her away from his head, but she grabbed more hair and held on tight.
She giggled.
"Please!" Tony begged. The baby did not comply.
Then she went for his beard. He was actually impressed that she was able to get a grip on it.
"Come on Morgan..." He just wanted to sleep.
She screeched and started hopping up and down on his lap while simultaneously pulling his hair. He really need Pepper to come back.
"FRIDAY! Wanna help?" Tony cried. The AI laughed. Tony didn't know that she could laugh.
"I think you've got it."
Tony rolled his eyes.
"Here play with my hand," Tony wiggled his figures at her.
Morgan let go of his hair and grabbed his hand. She opened her mouth and moved it toward his finger.
"Go for it."
The baby gave him a cheeky look and bit down. Tony laughed a little. Her gums didn't hurt his hand in the least. The baby continued sucking on his finger. Confusion clouded her eyes. She pulled his hand out of her mouth and examined it closely. She put his finger back in her mouth. Tony laughed. It tickled. A ferocious look came across the baby's face and she sucked harder. Morgan pulled Tony's finger out of her mouth. What did she want?
Food.
Tony kicked himself for not realizing it sooner.
Tony scooped her up and set her down in the highchair.
"I'll be right back," Tony assured her and went to get the bottle.
Pepper had left quite a few bottles in the fridge. Tony popped one in the microwave and twiddled his thumbs as he wait for it to get done.
Beep!
Tony yanked it out of the microwave, and tested it to make sure it wasn't to hot. He returned to where he had left Morgan.
She was not in her highchair.
Tony stared wide eyed at the empty chair.
How had she gotten out?
Tony spun around and looked around desperately.
Where had she gone!?
Dum-E did the closest thing he could to a scream. It was really just loud whirring. Something small and blobby was crawling toward him. Dum-E scooted back. The thing had a- a crayon in its hand. Daddy had NEVER let a crayon in the lab... EVER. Dum-E was terrified. Had this small thing done something to Daddy. The thing giggled and crawled toward him.
HELP! Dum-E whirred as loudly as he could in an attempt to wake U and Butterfingers. To Dum-E's dismay neither of the other robots woke up. The thing crawled even closer. Dum-E found himself backed into a corner. The thing would surely get him. Dum-E longed for Daddy to come save him.
The thing stopped. It looked up at Dum-E with farmilare eyes. Dum-E stopped cowering. It looked like Daddy. Not exactly, but it was close. The thing plopped its self on its butt and began crying. Dum-E panicked. What was wrong with it? Why was it doing that? Had he hurt it? Dum-E actually found the the thing cute. Dum-E didn't know what to do. Maybe if he picked it up.
Dum-E reached down and gently picked it up by the shirt. It stopped crying. Good. It laughed. Better. Dum-E scooted over to Daddy's chair, and set the thing down. It reached it's arms out to him. Dum-E recoyled. What did it want? It frowned in confusion. Dum-E didn't like its sad look. Dum-E leaned his claw in toward the small creature sitting in his father's chair. It reached out its small arms and wrapped them around his arm. Dum-E didn't Pull away. Dum-E stopped. A strange feeling of pure fondness filled him. He had only ever felt this fond of Daddy. Dum-E stayed put. He like whatever it was this thing was doing. This was Dum-E's first hug, and he loved it.
Tony had looked everywhere. Where could she be? The lab? No... Maybe?
He rushed down the basement stares and burst into the lab.
He stopped in his tracks, and smiled helplessly.
Dum-E had Morgan in some kind of basket and was spinning her around slowly. The baby was sound asleep. Tony slumped to the floor. The panic from losing her had exhausted him.
Dum-E turned to see his father flop on the floor. Daddy only did that when he was tired. Dum-E wheeled over to his father. Dum-E set down the basket next to him.
"Thanks buddy," Dum-E whirred happily as his father patted him. Dum-E realized something as he looked down at his father and the small thing. Daddy was a father. A real father. This made Dum-E happy. He was a big brother.
