In which Tony tells a bed time story
"Daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story?" Morgan tugged on Tony's shirt.
"Not right now Moe, I've got work to do," Tony mumbled and flipped through the papers on his desk. He hated turning her down, but he had to finish going through the blueprints spread out before him.
"That's boring," Morgan pouted.
"Tell me about it," Tony grumbled. He would much rather be hanging out with her.
"If your so bored then why don't you just stop what you're doing?"
Because if I don't your mother will strangle me.
Because if I don't the Avengers won't have their new suits next time a fight comes up.
Because it could be a matter of life or death.
"Because it's important," Tony settled for that answer.
"Why are important things always boring?" Morgan rested her chin on the edge of the desk.
Tony sighed.
"They aren't always."
"All the important things you do are."
Cold.
Also true.
"Fair enough."
"You should do exciting things," Morgan pulled herself up so she was sitting on his desk.
"Maybe," Tony smiled at her fondly. He was a consultant now. Strictly. He didn't want to risk something happening and having Morgan and Pepper left alone.
Morgan frowned.
"What are frowning about?" Tony asked.
She squinted at the blueprint of a new armor (he still built armor just incase.)
"That doesn't make any sense," The six year old pointed at helmet design.
"What about it doesn't make sense?"
"Well isn't supposed to protect your head?" Morgan made it sound like what ever she saw was obvious.
"Yes dear that is what a helmet does."
"Then you should designed the plates differently," Morgan looked up with concern in her eyes.
Tony tilted his head questioningly.
"Look," Morgan pointed to one of the drawn out armor plates, "If that one were to get hit at a downward angle, It could very easily shove that one into the dase of the skull, and paralyze you."
Tony looked closer at what she had said. The kid was right.
"That's it, you get story time now," Tony pulled her into his lap, "that's your reward for catching that."
"Yay!" Morgan wiggled in his lap.
"It's going to short, and you have to go to bed after. Deal?"
"Yes sir!" Morgan giggled.
"Alright, once upon a time there was a little girl," Tony began.
Morgan smiled eagerly up at him.
"She kept bugging her dad, so he finally gave up and sent her to live in a circus. The end," Tony smiled cheekily.
"An evil scary one?" Morgan asked horrified.
"No. It was a nice one with nice monkeys and other animals."
Morgan's face brightened.
"Thanks daddy!" she gave him a kiss on the cheek and hopped off his lap.
"Good night sweety," Tony smiled.
"Good night, I love you daddy!" Morgan sang as she skipped out of the room.
Tony chuckled and returned to his work.
