A soft grin lit up her features as Peter’s fingers curled around her own, intertwining their hands as they sat in the back seats of the car. The seat on her left was occupied by Hank, leaving her leaning against the build of her boyfriend on her right. Peter turned his head to face her, his silver locks swishing slightly around his jaw as he did so, and he returned her grin with his signature smirk, the one that sent butterflies to her stomach no matter what, and one eyebrow arched. His hands met her knee, slowly traversing upwards to caress her soft thighs,
“Peter!” she giggled softly, placing a gentle hand of her own on top of his in order to stop it from journeying too far upwards. Hank spared an uncomfortable glance over to the two, his eyes quickly flicking back to his view of the window after Peter gave him an irritated glare, moving his hand to rest around his girlfriend's waist, pulling her closer to him.
“I just can’t keep my hands off of you, angel,” he whispered lowly in her ear, sending a bright blush to the apples of her cheeks. She bit her lip as she looked over at him once again, a disbelieving grin pulling her mouth upwards,
“oh god darling, you can at least wait till later, you don’t wanna upset your new friends do you?” she chuckled softly and his face morphed into that of faux despair, before he laughed that radiant laugh of his again. She falls silent, a soft smile upon her features as she looks on at Peter, feeling her heart grow warm at the sight of pure joy on his face. He beams back at her, resting his head against her shoulder,
“I love you so much,” he mumbles into her hair and she leans her head against his own, whispering,
“I love you too,” into his ear.
A sigh escaped from the boy on her left, a blush quickly forming on his cheeks when she turned to look at him, a slightly sheepish expression on her face,
“I’m so sorry, you must get tired of us pretty quick, not that I blame you of course!” She chuckles and Hank grins back,
“No it’s fine, don’t worry about it,” he replies, placing a hand on her shoulder in gratification. At this action, Peter lets out a rather loud, certainly over-exaggerated laugh before saying,
“Yeah babe, I don’t blame him for being jealous of my stunning girlfriend.” He slings an arm around her shoulders, pushing Hank’s hand off with a little more force than necessary. She looks up at Peter with such loving eyes and Hank rolls his eyes,
“Seriously?” He mutters, his face morphed into a pout of discontent.
“Aw what’s wrong?” Peter says, his tone one of mock concern. She lets out a slight laugh, albeit slightly uncomfortable,
“Hey, Peter, its fine, leave it, okay?” She says, smoothing a hand over his face and smiling softly.
“Yeah, yeah okay then baby,” he grins back at her, both captivated by the other. Yawning, she rests her head upon his shoulder, her eyelids slowly drooping down, the quiet thrum of the car and the steady rise and fall of Peter’s chest slowly lulling her to sleep. And that’s how the rest of the car journey passed, Peter sitting in awe of the girl asleep on his shoulder, despite the slight pool of drool that had begun to form in the corner of her mouth, Hank staring out the window, and the occasional chatter from the front of the car, though that was soon quietened down by Peter’s hushing to keep her asleep.
She eventually woke to a gentle shake on her shoulder and Peter’s soft tone,
“Hey, (y/n), angel, it’s time to wake up.” Looking up him with a lethargic beam across her features, she languidly stretched her arms above her head before clapping her hands and sitting up abruptly,
“Okay team, what’s the plan?” she say brightly, only for her optimism to be met with rolled eyes and irritated sighs,
“Oh god I’ve only been through it 101 times!” Charles says, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“Seriously dude, she was asleep so like calm down,” Peter retorts, slinging an arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders. She chuckles awkwardly,
“Yeah sorry about that,”
“Whatever it’s fine, I’m sure everyone will appreciate hearing it one last time anyways,” Charles sighs as he begins to describe their plan of action once more.
