What is Going on?

You began to wake up. Your eyes adjust to the darkness in the room. You tried to pull your hands down so you could stretch however they remained in place. You cursed as you realized that they were chained to the wall, well more like you were changed to the wall.
“Welcome back to the living,” a voice said from the side.
You looked over to the direction to see Dazai and Chuuya. You then mentally cursed as you remained silent.
“Hey, aren’t you going to say anything?” Chuuya questioned, annoyed laced in his tone.
“Yeah, just debating on how to respond is all. Plus I just woke up, idiot,” you replied, rolling your eyes.
Chuuya growls a bit at being called an idiot, however before he could do anything Dazai spoke up. “Y/n, what is your ability?”
You laughed a little as you thought he was joking. “Wait… You're serious?” You asked him in which he nodded. “I…don’t have one. I don’t think…”
“I see,” he spoke and glanced at his partner who looked at you. “Well, how did you dodge all of my partner's attacks?”
You tried to shrug. “Dunno, luck? Maybe instincts? Maybe my self defense lesson somehow kicked in,” you answered.
“Maybe…” Dazai said. “I’m going to go and talk to the boss,” he said and left the dark room.
You sigh as you are left alone with Chuuya. “So, what’s your name?” you asked even though you already knew what it was.
“Chuuya,” he simply responded.
“Great, nice to meet you. Though I wish it was on more pleasant terms as you and your partner kidnap me,” you said looking at him. “Say, it did seem we were the same height though, which I’m surprised as most people I’ve met are taller than I am, unless they were still growing.”
He doesn’t respond.
“Awe, did I offend you somehow?” you asked, a bit confused by his silence.
Still no response.
You groaned. “Fine, since you don’t want to talk, I might as well just tell you about myself. I’m 18 and an orphan. My favorite color is f/c. Let's see my favorite food… Hmmm I’m not really sure. My mother died in a car crash and my father I have no idea since I never met him. I have no relatives… And hmm I like to paint and I love reading. I’m unable to swim, and let's see… What else is there… Oh my favorite animal is f/a. I’m currently homeless since I was kicked out of the orphanage when I turned 18. Something about a tiger and lack of finances. Anyways that’s all I can think of…” your voice trailed off.
The tiger part had seemed to peak the other interest however didn’t say anything about. “About time that you shuddup.”
“As if, I’m bored and you're the only one here. I could go over different methods on torture that I read about. Or give you some suicide ideas to pass to your partner. And I could talk about different books that I’ve read.”
He groans. “Don’t you fucking dare.” He shot daggers at me.
You rolled my eyes. “As I’ve said I’m bored and you’re the only one here,” you repeat yourself. Your stomach then growled. “Heh seems like I’m still hungry. Oh well.”
“What do you know about the tiger?” he asked
“Not much, just that it was destroying our crops and killed some of the farm animals a while ago. No one got hurt though,” you said lying through your teeth. In reality you knew that the tiger was a boy with an ability to shift into the tiger. You didn’t remember the name of it, however. You told almost all of the truth about your past, however added the tiger bit because why not? Make it a little bit interesting at least.
He nods slightly taking in the information. “So why were you in the alleyway?” he asked.
“I was waiting for there to be less people around so that I can pickpocket them easier… That’s when I heard talking and decided to check it out. Then you know the rest,” you answered.
He nodded again and became quiet again. That's when Dazai came back. “Boss said to let them go, unless they want to join,” he said, walking over to you and uncuffed you from the restraints.
Your arms dropped to your sides. “Thanks, and no. I rather not get involved. I’m also not a huge fan of killing,” you said looking up at the man before you.
“Yet you offered to talk about torture methods from the books you’ve read,” Chuuya was quick to respond to your statement.
You rolled your eyes. “Killing and torture are two differnet things.”
“You wanted to talk about torture methods?” the one by you asked as if you were insane.
“Yeah and among other things.”
“Yeah, including telling me a bunch of useless information about themselves,” the orange headed responded.
You shrugged. “I was bored. Which I do easily.”
Chuuya walks over to the two of you. “Speaking of which, why won’t you join? You said you're homeless. We could provide a place for you to sleep at,” he tried to persuade.
Dazai’s eyes narrowed onto you, wanting to hear your answer. In which it caused you to sigh. “Yes, I’m homeless, but that doesn’t mean I need help, especially from two people who look like idiots,” your mouth slipped on the last word.
“Who are you calling an idiot!?” Chuuya yelled and grabbed onto your neck. He then proceeded to pin you against the wall behind you.
“Clearly you, Chuuya.”
He growls and tightens his grip on your throat causing it to be a bit difficult to breathe.
“Enough. The boss said that they can go,” Dazai said.
Chuuya grumbled a few words before letting you go. Your hand goes up and rubs the area where his hand was just at. “Jeez, use your words next time. Violence isn’t always the answer to your problems.”
“I don’t get you. You spill out your story about being an orphan and shit but then don’t want to join? What is wrong with you?” the man asked who was just choking you.
You smiled at him. “Everything, technically. Though also nothing,” you said and shrugged looking at him. “So, when can I leave?”
“You know you wouldn’t have to kill anyone if you really didn't want to,” he grumbled.
“Sounds like you want me to stay,” you plainly said. You then looked back to Dazai. “When can I leave?” you asked.
“Whenever, however, we will need to blindfold you if you don’t want to join,” he said, his voice seemingly neutral. “Though I have a feeling that even if you do go, we will meet again.”
You shrugged. “Who knows we may meet again, we may not,” you replied. “Well let's get this over with,” you added. He nods and hands a blindfold to you which you put on. Someone lifted you off your feet and began walking. You closed your eyes under the blindfold as you didn’t know where you were going.

After what seemed like forever they put you on your own two feet. “You can take off the blindfold now,” Dazai's voice spoke out.
Listening to him you took it off. You had to squint your eyes as they had to readjust to the light as you’ve been in the dark for so long. “Thanks…” you mumbled and handed the blindfold back which he did take.
“If you change your mind, just let me know and we can commit double suicide,” he said.
Your face palmed and sighs, shaking your head. “Really? I told you, no. Also death isn’t that special. It’s just an empty darkness with nowhere to go.” you stated.
“How do you even know?” he asked.
“I already died once, I’ve said that when you guys threatened to kill me.”
He looks at you confused as you clearly are standing in front of him. “Whatever you say, Y/n” he said and turned around and walked away. You assumed it was where you guys had come from.
You looked around your surroundings, realizing you were in the same alleyway as before. You walked out to the entrance and saw there were less people. Great, this is your chance. You thought to yourself.
You walked out of the alleyway and a few people who you assumed were just citizens and you grabbed their wallet and walked away.
`”Hey! They stole my wallet!” you heard someone yell.
Well shit.
You took off running. You easily maneuvered around the people that were in your way. You ran into an alleyway after a bit. You took a few turns before looking behind you to see they were still chasing you. You tried to pick up your speed but you hit something hard and stumbled back and landed on your bottom. You looked up to see Astushi.
“Are you okay?” he asked, looking down at you concerned before seeing the one chasing you. “Are they after you?” he asked.
“Uhh yeah…Kinda stole their wallet…” you mumbled.
He nods and moved so he was behind, blocking the person from getting to you.
You turned around to watch. “Hey. Uhm I apologize for my friend here. They don’t have any money… But I’m sure they would give it back, right?” he looked back at you.
You sigh and nod as you know you didn’t have much of a choice.
The citizen grumbled a few things as Astushi took the wallet from your clutches and handed it back to them. “Again, I apologize for my friend's rude behavior,” he repeated himself. The citizen just walks away and grumbles.
Astushi looked back to you and offered his hand. “So, why did you steal his wallet in the first place?” he asked.
You took it and he pulled you up. “Well, I’m currently homeless and don’t have any money for food or anything,” you said, deciding to be honest.
He nods. “I get that, I almost did the same, till I met Dazai,” he said shrugging. “Maybe you could also join the mafia?” he suggested.
“Mafia?” you asked not believing what you were hearing. He was supposed to be with the Agency, not the mafia. What happened? He’s too kind hearted for it… You then remembered the conversion that you’ve overheard. Your eyes widened as you realized who they were talking about.
He nods. “Yeah, the port mafia ended up taking me in after he found me,” he explained.
“But I…” you voice trailed off as you tried to make sense of this new information.
He looks at you waiting.
“I already told them that I wasn't going to join…” You mumbled.
“You met with some of them? Who?” He asked, the glint of curiosity in his eyes.
You nod slowly. “Dazai and Chuuya…” you slowly told him, uncertain. That’s when your stomach growled yet again.
He noticed and looked at you. “You're hungry?” he asked.
You slowly nod your head again, not answering his question.
“Then let me treat you to something to eat,” he said.
“Alright…” You said, sighing as you were happy you were finally going to get some food.
He nodded and began walking which you followed behind him.

You sat at a table across from Astashi. “Sooo, uhm I never gave you my name, its y/n. We were at the same orphanage. However they kicked me out before you as I had turned 18,” you said.
He nods slightly. “I see, and I’m Astushi,” he introduced himself.
“So uhm why join the port mafia?” You asked as you wanted to know why this universe is actually so different from the one you grew to love.
He laughed a bit. “Well, I found Dazai drowning and saved him. Chuuya was looking for him, and found him with me. They treated me out for some food since I was also hungry and they were looking for the white tiger. Which turned out to be me. So I ended up joining them because of the kindness they showed me.”
You nod at his words. It was pretty similar from the one in the series you were so used to. “Alright,” you said.
“Well, now it’s your turn on how you met them,” he said.
You sighed as your food came out and the waiter gave it to you. You began eating as you told him what had happened and how you met the two.
