“Are you sure you don’t want to join the port mafia?” Astushi asked, looking at you. You shook your head head no. He nodded and sighed. “Well at least once a week meet me here so that you can get some food and won’t starve to death therefore you won’t have to steal.”
You chuckled hearing him. “Says the one in the organization that has done much worse crimes,” you stated amused.
He rolled his eyes. “They’re the ones who took me in when they didn’t have to,” he said.
You sighed knowing he was right, unfortunately. “True…” she muttered. “But fine I’ll meet you here next week then,” you add.
He smiled softly. “Sounds good,” he said.
The two of you got up and he paid for the bill as you went outside and waited. It was already dark out. You looked up at the sky to see some stars. You smiled softly seeing them. You wondered if you were going to survive this as someone who doesn’t have an ability. Also, why was everything so different? How did that happen?
“Well, I should get going, it was nice meeting you y/n!” a voice spoke that pulled you out of your thoughts. You found yourself looking at the white hair boy whose bangs that framed his face were crooked.
“Yeah, nice to meet you as well, Atsushi,” you spoke back with a soft smile.
You both then went your separate way. You walked to the bridge where you slept last time.

You woke up in an unfamiliar place. You quickly looked around, seeing two buildings of different colors on your left and right. Weird… You didn't remember falling asleep in an alleyway. You shrugged it off and got to your feet. You stretched your limbs to hopefully help with the aching sensation from sleeping on something hard for so long. It didn’t help.
You knew you needed to get work so you walked out of the alleyway and looked for a store or café that was hiring. You saw one and asked for an application and you filled it out as they also gave you a pen.
“Thank you, uhh…” you stumbled a bit as you didn’t know the female's name that stood before you who was generous enough to give you the application and a pen to use.
“Yuna,” she smiled. Her long black hair is up in a ponytail. Her brown eyes shined as they looked at you.
“Thank you, Yuna,” you replied with a soft smile. “May I stay here and fill it out?” you requested.
She nods, “You may, there's a booth over in the corner that’s open that you may use,” she told you.
You smiled brightly at her answer. “Thank you so much,” you said and went over to that booth she told you about. You slid onto one of the seats and clicked the pen. You looked at the application. It asked for the simple stuff such as name, how old you were, where you got your education from, etc. You filled it out the best as you scribbled in your information.
After you were done you clicked the pen again and dropped it. You leaned back and sighed deeply before standing up to stretch. After doing so you picked up the application and writing utensil and walked back to Yuna who was cleaning off a table.
“I’m done Yuna,” you said.
“Okay, give me a minute,” she responded as she gathered the rest of the dishes. You stood there watching as she went back behind the kitchen. She then came back out a few moments later and motioned you over. You walked over to the counter and set the things in your hands down.
“Okay. I’ll get this to the boss today,” she told me.
You gave a small nod. “Alright, I’ll be back tomorrow, let me know if they decided to give me an interview,” you said. “Oh, by the way, my name is y/n,” you add before you could forget.
The waitress nods. “I will see you tomorrow then y/n,” they smiled softly to you.
“Yeah, goodbye Yuna,” you said as you walked over to the door and walked out. You sigh and look up at the sky. You wondered what you should do now. You shrugged and began wandering the streets. Soon you heard an explosion from behind you. Confused, yet the curiosity within you caused you to turn around and run towards the sound. You pushed people who were running away from the sound. At least they had some sense.
Arriving at the police station you saw a figure walking away. He wore a black trench coat. His hair black with white tips that seemed to frame his face. Your eyes widen as you recognize him. You just stood there watching. He seemed to notice you, yet ignored you as he walked away to the alleyway where his comrades were probably waiting for him. Before you could think much about it, you followed him.
You stood just out of sight. You heard coughing. You gulp nervously. Your brain tells you you need to leave, yet your legs refuse to move. You stood in your place frozen. You heard him talking, yet not the other side of the conversation so assumed it was on the phone. You took in a sharp breath as you listened to his conversation the best that you can.
“What’s next?” he asked, then it was silent for a few moments. “Hmmm… Got it.” there was another pause. “I will make sure of it.” again another pause. “Understood, bye.”
You stayed where you were as you heard footsteps going deeper into the alleyway. You peeked around the corner to see his back was turned. Being the idiot you were followed behind him, however, matching your footsteps with his and kept your distance. He stopped a few times to cough before he continued. You did the same minus the coughing. He turned around a corner. You went up to the corner and peeked over to see him looking towards you.
“I know you’re there. What business do you have in following me?” he asked.
You slowly came out and faced him. “Well, I wanted to see where you were going, Akutagawa.”
“How do you know my name when we only just met? And what interest do you have in following me?” He asks as his eyes send daggers at you.
You shrugged. “Long story and I was just curious since Dazai will never give you the praise you so desperately desire,” you stated.
His eyes widen at your words, but only narrow a few moments later. “What are you talking about?” he inquired, holding back his anger within him.
You smiled softly. “Dazai, will never give you what you want. He will only put you down because that’s the type of man he is.”
“You're wrong!” this time he did shout at you. “Rashomon!” A dark shadow color with a red glow surrounding it darts at you. You barely dodge in time.
You looked at him as you yet again dodge another attack of his. “You know it’s true,” you paused, “Akutagawa you truly deserved better.”
He was coughing a bit as you walked towards him. When he stops his rashomon rushes at you again. You only did a three step turn. You knew it would come from behind you within a few moments so you took a few steps forward before jumping into the air. You found yourself floating. You looked down to see his shocked face before it disappeared back to its normal scowl.
“How is this possible?” you asked as your eyes were wide and your mouth became agape.
“How indeed,” you heard a familiar voice from behind you. You glanced over your shoulder to see the very person you were talking about,
Suddenly your body just drops to the ground. You hit the ground on your back. Coughing for air at first before mumbling “fucking hell.”
“Dazai I–”
“I don’t want to hear it. You have your orders.”
“Yes sir.”
You heard two sets of footsteps. One walking away and the other towards you. Groaning, you sat up rubbing your head. You turned to face him. “What do you want?” you questioned.
“I want to know how you have Chuuya’s ability,” he stated.
“I guess it turned out that I have a gift like you Dazai. One that I wasn’t aware of.”
“Indeed. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that you can copy other people's abilities. Am I wrong?” he questioned.
“No idea,” you admitted. “This is the first time for me,” you added looking at him.
“I see… Why were you following him and proceeding to say those things when you barely know me?” he states looking down at you.
You chuckled and looked up at him as he was taller. “I know more than you think. I know you’ve beaten him up multiple times and even almost killed him. I know that you are very cunning despite your carefree attitude. I know that once you have something that you want to keep due to you liking it; it only gets taken away from you. There's also a saying in the port mafia about you,” you paused to catch your breath. You noticed his face turned dark with his eye narrowed on you. His other eye hidden behind bandages. "Which you’re probably well aware of. So as I’ve said, I know more than you think and the funny part is that I’m not even a spy.”
“How do you know this?” he questioned, his face still dark. His brown eye seemed to have taken on a reddish shade.
You shrugged as your hairs stood on end. An aching sensation settled in your stomach as you spoke, “you wouldn’t believe me even if I were to tell you,” it came out stronger than you expected it too. You took a step back to create some space between the two of you as his slender figure was close to you.
“I see… Well the offer is still open to you if you wish to join the mafia, although the boss will be wanting you to join once I inform him of your unique ability,” he stated his eye still trained on you. You shifted your weight from his gaze. However the dark expression he was wearing seemed to disappear and he smiled. “Unless you wish to commit a double suicide with me!” he exclaimed.
You shook your head. “No thanks to both. I personally don’t want to get involved with either the agency or the mafia as I want a peaceful life,” you told him. “Anyways I should get going. After all I have a few more places to apply for a job,” you added, taking a few more steps away from him before turning your back to Dazai. You walked away wrapping your arms around yourself as the hair on your body still stood on edge.
