Suspicions
Pre-Explanations - Okay so this chapter may seem a bit confusing so I'm going to do some basic explanations to set the scene. Basically while everyone is up on the main floor cleaning up/talking about Skye & how they all have to share her as a soulmate and getting to know Peter, Skye is in the lab healing. Now this time she does die again but comes back (as opposed to when she got shot by Quinn she didn't technically die) so anyways the point is she hasn't died since she escaped from Hydra and started getting more of her powers and stuff so it's like the turning point in her full transformation and this time when the healing powers are mostly done healing her they've changed her appearance again (which is going to be her like "true" form - she'll still be able to change her features and stuff (glamour) so when she's working for shield and whatnot she'll still look like normal Skye (and then Daisy Johnson - & look like Chloe Bennet if you want to face claim someone) but I'm going to have her use her new form to become a musician that simply goes by @theavengingangel or Belle/Aurora/Briar Rose (unless anyone else has any other name suggestions? I want to stick within either the book title or Disney Princess theme since the original version of Thalia from my DC story went by Cinderella) which as you're about to read will be suggested to her as a way to start mentally coping with all of her past trauma and all the emotions she feels from her soulmates. Definitely let me know which Alias you like the most!
Also just wanted to touch on the soulmate thing - so I know people are champing at the bit for her to find out they are her soulmates but I want to keep the mystery alive for just a little longer so like she'll have suspicions of who they could be but not believe that it could be them - and or just be so busy trying to set up a new life for herself outside of shield that she doesn't really contemplate it but don't get me wrong this story is going to be a LONG one in the end so while I know it seems like I've already dragged it out quite a bit never fear because there will be PLENTY of content in the future where she knows and where they all start bonding and stuff. She'll get her scars healed and her soulmarks revealed in the next chapter but instead of the first words her mates said - they will be symbols/tattoos basically so she will know that she has several soulmates just not who they are .
I'm thinking of bringing in Harry Potter and vampire diaries/the originals into the mix as well for soulmates so let me know if you are for or against this idea. The soulmates would be Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Stefan Salvatore, Damon Salvatore, Nicklaus Mikaelson, Elijah Mikaelson, and Kol Mikaelson (tho I have yet to see the originals so it's up to the readers if they want the brothers cuz otherwise I'd just stick to Stefan and Damon) also if there are any other HP characters you would want to see as soulmates drop a comment as well - also wondering if I should bring in any x-men characters? If so it would be Logan, Cyclops, and Iceman.
Should I add in Supernatural as well? Haven't seen the show but I could add Dean and Sam.
Was also thinking of adding Maria Hill and Kate Bishop as soulmates cuz I love Cobie Smulders and Hailee steinfeld and figured it could use a smidge more female blood in the mix let me know what ya think. That would give her a grand total of 33 soulmates 😅 so I know that seems like a potentially crazy amount but hey go big or go home right? Lol and since technically the reason she has more than just a few is cuz she's partnered with like everyone her doppelgängers would have been bonded to if there wasn't only allowed to be one final version of her in the entire multiverse so like when one version dies/merges with another they gain soulmarks hence why I'm trying to add in other fandoms as well for one big crossover.
Ok now just a brief description of her form. If you've read my DC story it's the same character (Thalia) just at a different stage and a parallel universe so there are obviously some differences in powers etc. anyways the main change in Skye's appearance will be her hair color again going from the dark brown and the white to a deep red - I'm thinking like the red of Mera from Aquaman. Honestly I never really talked skin tone since that's always been an iffy subject to me being darker skinned but adopted into a lighter skinned family so I feel like that's something that I will continue to leave up to the reader's imagination - but yeah the other main change is eye color so she will now have gold eyes like the other Thalia. (Also if people have suggestions on what to call the different earths let me know! I wanna do something different than Earth 1 and Earth X tho if y'all are cool with that than I could just go with that? Though I feel like it could be better) she will of course start wearing contacts when she films her music and stuff so that the avengers don't recognize her right away so it's like how superman wears glasses and no one knows it's him. But when she does like go full power mode and stuff the contacts will burn off similar to how like Superman rips all his damn shirts when he changes 😂 also later on she'll end up receiving Thalia 1's armor and weapons and stuff which are all gold themed but yeah I'll get onto the story now - the main point I wanted to make clear was that she now looks totally different and she doesn't know cuz she hasn't looked in a mirror and the avengers won't know it's her. Also there will be 1 or more chapters where she's creating a name for herself in the music industry and avoiding thinking about Ward having been Hydra and then I'm going to have him like erase her memory of finding out he was Hydra and then it'll go back to her working for shield for a few episodes and then she'll have to change her name to Daisy Johnson because when Hydra comes out of the shadows I plan to have award fake documents making it look like she was a double agent so that like the avengers have their doubts about her and stuff so yeah there's a little preview for ya :)
Lexi's POV
I groaned as I blinked my eyes open to find myself laying on a couch in what looked to be Tony's lab. Someone had draped a blanket over me for which I was eternally greatful as healing myself, especially from death made me extremely cold at first. Once I felt my strength start to return to me I used my fire power to heat the rest of me up so that I wasn't cold anymore and folded up the blanket and spread it back on the couch before standing up and making my way towards the door.
"JARVIS! Where is everyone located?" I asked as I stared up at the ceiling.
"They are all on the main floor, miss. I will take you there now," the AI replied as I stepped into the elevator.
When the elevator opened I stared out at everyone - most of them were standing in various places around the room with brooms and other supplies in their hands - clearly attempting to help Tony with the cleaning process.
"Hey! Do you guys need any help?" I asked as I stepped into the room. The reaction I got wasn't what I was expecting however. The minute the others turned to stare at me they stiffened and got into defensive positions. I had to duck my head as Tony's Iron Man suit came flying from behind me and assembled itself together around him. What the hell was going on? I looked behind me and glanced all around the room to see if maybe Loki had escaped but it was only me and the other Avengers in the room. "What's going on?" I said in complete confusion.
"Who are you!" Natasha demanded to know.
"What do you mean? You know who I am!" I replied as I stared at her.
"JARVIS! Where's Skye?" I heard Tony call out. I frowned at him. I was right here! Duh!
"Sir, I suggest you use your own eyes to locate Skye," JARVIS told his creator. I opened my mouth about to try and tell them again that it was me, when a repulsor shot from the Iron Man suit sent me flying into the wall. I groaned as I pushed myself up but stopped as I caught a glimpse of myself reflected in the glass window. No wonder they were all freaking out! The person staring back at me looked nothing like me! Well I guess it was me just not what I was used to. My hair had gone red and my eyes were glowing gold. I connected with my power and tried to cancel the glamour but it didn't work, which meant it must not be a glamour...well that's new, I thought to myself.
"So what ever happened to the ask questions first policy?" I said as I straightened up, glaring at Tony. Sure I understood their hesitation after everything that had just happened with Loki but he hadn't even given me a chance to explain and I was barely healed right now! And now I was sore all over again!
I had to dodge and swerve to the best of my ability to avoid the sudden knives that were flying at me from Natasha's direction. I winced as a few of them managed to slice up my arms, but it was just surface damage and would heal, but didn't mean the cuts didn't sting.
"Geesh! Would you be careful, those things are sharp!" I called out to her before I got sent flying through the air once more by captain America's shield. "Ow!" I complained as I stood up only to be punched by the Hulk. I tumbled into yet another wall and panted as I felt my ribs break all over again. "Hey idiots! Can you at least give me a second to explain?" I called out, gasping for air in between words as I struggled to breath around my broken ribs. I slowly stood up and opened my mouth to try and tell them who I was only to be hit in the side by Mjolnir and sent flying into yet another wall.
"Sorry, Mistress" I heard a voice whisper in my head and I turned to stare at the hammer. Huh...I guess the hammer was sentient? I rolled over onto my stomach so I could see the others but once again I didn't get a chance to explain as I saw a dark figure fly in through the open window and land in front of me, his wings reflecting the light. I stared up at him in shock, having thought I was the only one with wings around here.
"Who are you!" Tony demanded to know as he armed his weapons once more.
"Don't bother answering, they'll just attack first anyways before you get a chance," I told the newcomer as I rolled my eyes at Tony. I wasn't feeling all that forgiving at the moment.
"Who do you two work for! Hydra?" Natasha asked as she raised her weapons.
"Sweetie, I'm the devil, I don't work for anyone," I heard the man in front of me say.
"Wait, Lucifer? Is that you?" I asked as I tried and failed to sit up. The room was starting to fade black and I had to blink several times to make out his face as he bent down towards me.
"It's alright, my dove, we are going to get you out of here," he told me as he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"We? Who's we?" I asked as I blinked several times to try and clear my vision, not that it did much good. A green glow filled the room and the next thing I knew I was being swept up into someone's arms. I clenched my teeth but couldn't help the whimper of pain that escaped as my ribs protested at the movement.
"Hang in there, kitten, I'm going to get you out of here," I heard a man say. The darkness was surrounding me but I stared up at the familiar golden horned crown.
"Loki? But how..." I passed out before I could finish the sentence.
3rd Person POV
"How did you manage to escape, brother?!" Thor boomed out as he stared in shock.
"I would rather learn why you and your new midguardian friends are busy trying to kill my soulmate," Loki replied, glaring at everyone in the room other than Lucifer who was also shooting daggers at the avengers; his wings fluffed out in anger.
"That's not our soulmate!" Thor exclaimed as he raised his hammer and pointed at the red haired girl in Loki's arms.
"We were attempting to learn of Skye's location from her!" Tony tried to explain.
"You mortals are all the same. You attack anything that's unknown, or different," Lucifer growled out. "It never occurred to you that you were in a highly secure building and that maybe you should have let her explain herself after having seen her transform only hours ago? Now if you don't mind, this fellow and I will be taking Skye someplace far away from you where she will be safe to heal in peace!"
"You mean to say, that - that is Skye?" Steve asked, dropping his shield as his face filled with fear at the thought that they might have killed their soulmate. He glanced over at Bucky and Clint suddenly understanding why the two of them hadn't joined in the fight considering they had already attacked Skye on separate occasions.
"Jesus, how many disguises does this chick have?" Tony commented as he powered down his suit.
"Tony! That 'chick' is your soulmate, have care how you speak of my queen!" Thor said, turning to glare at the billionaire.
While the group wasn't paying attention, Lucifer and Loki flew out of the room, making their way to Lux.
"Well if you were paying attention, Thor, you'd realize your brother and co. have disappeared with your 'Queen'," Tony pointed out as he grabbed a tablet from the counter and began to mess around with Jarvis's coding to start trying to track Loki and Skye down.
As he did so, the rest of the avengers sank onto the couch all brooding over the fact that they had just attacked their soulmate. Bucky and Clint were even more miserable due to the fact that despite not having participated in the recent attack, they had been unable to apologize and seek forgiveness for their own actions as they had initially hoped to do once Skye had finished healing.
"Hey wait, does anyone feel any pain?" Natasha asked as she suddenly stood up having come to a realization.
"No, I feel fine," Steve replied, not that he expected any different with the super soldier serum.
"Shouldn't we be feeling something from Skye? I mean we've all experienced the occasional emotions through the bond but have any of you ever felt any physical pains from her?" Natasha continue as she faced everyone. She was met with shocked looks all around as they all realized that no they hadn't. And based off of current events, they should definitely have done so by now.
"Wait, don't you remember those weird questions she kept asking us a few months back?" Clint said as he pulled up his chat history. "Dang, she must have found a way to block parts of the bond!"
"Not that I'm complaining - since if she hadn't I'm sure we would all be suffering right about now, but how did she manage to block the bond from sensing her pain if she doesn't know we are her soulmates?" Steve asked. "I mean I thought soul bonds were supposed to be impossible to tamper with?"
"A lot has changed since you became a capsicle," Tony said. "It looks like Skye managed to find away. Though I'm more interested to figure out how she managed to avoid my detection for so long! She has to be working with someone!" Thankfully Tony was oblivious to the looks that Clint, Natasha, Bucky, and Steve shared with one another as they remembered how they had agreed not to tell Tony that Skye was working with Shield.
"It'll be alright, punk. She didn't seem all that upset the two times she met me after I attacked her. So maybe there's a chance she'll forgive us?" Bucky said as he pulled Steve to his feet.
"Buck, she was a bit preoccupied during both of those encounters, no dame in their right mind is going to forgive what we've done," Steve said forlornly as he and the rest of the team began to continue with their cleaning. They we worried about Loki having escaped but they knew he would never hurt Skye. But just to be safe, Tony, Natasha, and Clint went off to go work on reaching out to their contacts to make sure they were alerted immediately if any of the three were spotted. The rest of the team dived into the clean up efforts as they attempted to drown out their guilt.
