My Locky and Their Caretakers
“Paaaaapaa” Mycroft called out “Pahhhpaaahh” A smaller voice repeated “He's doing it again” He whined “Do 'gain” a burst of giggles. John came out revealing one copycat Sherlock, following his brother around clumsily copying. “Save meee Papa” My came running into John's arm. “Vee Pahhpaa” Soon the ex-army man had two littles in his arm. “Holmes are such silly boys.” He cooed making Mycroft snicker and Sherlock to giggle. “Locky are you being a little copy ducky?” the shorter man asked tapping his nose, which just got more giggles.
The older Holmes brother moved out from the embrace. “Whens Daddy getting home?” He asked politely. While the younger played with John's buttons. Scooping up the light man he sat down on the couch, Mycroft quickly followed. “When the short hand is on 5 and the big hand is on 30. Do you know how how long that means?” The sweater wearing man asked. “Two hours?” The chubby little asked shyly “Good job! And how long is that?” John questioned ruffling Mycroft's hair. “Movie!” He squealed. “Mo'ee” Sherlock repeated just as happily clumsily clapping his hands. “What do you two wanna watch?” John asked “Charlie and Lola!” “Lee ah La!” Mycroft and Sherlock were on the same page. It was both the boys favorite cartoons. Which was just precious. John was sure it was because of the relationship with the siblings on the show and their relationship. “That's a cartoon sillies. You need to pick out a movie” Sherlock made a adorable O face while Mycroft blushed. “once Upon a Forest” Mycroft said excitedly, while his brother whined a bit. “Hey hey none of that it's My's turn” John said moving the tall little from lap to couch so he could put the movie in.
Mycroft was a rather big fan of the Once Upon a Forest movie, it was his favorite movie, while Sherlock always needed a caretaker to watch with, it was not a movie they could just leave the two boys alone with. While My could handle the sad scenes, without being comforted by one of his caretakers. Sherlock needed to be reminded that everything ends up okay and how they get a happy ending each single time. Unless you wanted to hear Sherlock crying for the rest of the night. So cuddles were a must if My requested this movie. Of course Mycroft would join in on the cuddles, even if he didn't need them to get though the movie.
At the end of the movie John had a sniffling baby was giving a weak smile. While Mycroft was a much more happy little. He tend to like the more emotional movies since he needed high emotional movies to be effected. Movies like Bambi just bored Mycroft. He needed adventure high emotional stakes, to keep his brain interested in a movie that long. It could be hard at times with two very different little boys. But, John loved his little monsters. “How much longer until Daddy comes home?” John asked as if he couldn't tell the time himself. It made Mycroft feel like a big boy helping his papa. “10 minutes!” He said brightly. “Lets set the table up for dinner” The ex solider cooed.
Sherlock had the important job of putting napkins on the table, while Mycroft placed the forks and spoons in their proper spots. Plastic for them, silver for their caretakers. Even if My was older he still had to use plastic utensils and section plates and sippy cups. Not that he minded. At least he didn't need a bib like his brother. Because he was a big boy who rarely made a mess. Even though they wouldn't have dinner until 7:30 they always got the table ready before Greg got home. It was just their schedule. Mycroft was big on schedules and charts. If they didn't have systems there would be chaos. Even though he was pretty sure Sherlock wouldn't mind that. Mycroft was a lot more picky about staying on schedule and would get upset if routine was broken.
The wall had removeable charts and posters (that were taken down when they were big or when strangers were over) they had the rule poster mostly for Sherlock because he was always forgetting the rules, and sometimes for him. But, mostly for Sherlock. They had a feeling tracker on the fridge where they had their own magnets Sherlock had a heart and Mycroft a Star. That they had to move though out the day when their mood changed. It was to help both of them learn their emotions better. Most the time they would have to get help from one of the caretakers to help understand where to put their magnet. It was bubbles with the big bold letters being things like “Happiness” and “Sadness” under them were other emotions that fell in it. Like anger had jealous or loneliness had excluded or hurt had shamed. Custom morning routine charts for them to mark what they had done. Locky needed a lot of help to finish his, while My was a big boy who could do most of his chart by himself. They had a bedtime one too, which was for both of them equally. Since Locky and My hated bedtime. Though Locky had to do his bedtime routine a whole hour before him at 8 while he could stay up until 9. Because Sherlock was just a baby, 2 at the biggest, while he was a big boy cause he was 5. It was the same reason why his chores were more than Locky. But he had a bigger allowance than his brother so it was fair.
My was allowed to a lot more than Locky cause he was just a baby. He could use Papa's computer but only for kid friendly websites and he had to follow their internet rules (like Papa knowing all his passwords, to his little accounts clearly) he wasn't allowed to go to chat rooms or anything like that because he wasn't that much of a big boy. He could play educational games, and kid websiets. On top of that he could only spend an hour, during Locky's nap on the computer. Since Locky would get upset because he's too little to be on the computer. He was glad he was still the big brother, but it was nice for him to be closer in “age” with his brother this time around. Their caretakers were much more strict than their parents. Their parents had the policy to really let their children learn what they wanted to learn and rarely scolded them. Wanting not to hurt their intelligence development. But, it had meant the first time around since Mycroft was so bad at emotions and caring about others feelings, he hadn't notice how his mean words had effected his baby brother. John and Greg didn't put up with that however!
The door opened up revealing the police detective. Both littles squealed “Daddy!” rushing to give the man a hug. Greg gave his boys a giant smile. “Were you good for Papa?” He asked, he got eager nods “They were angels” John confirmed kissing the man causing Mycroft to go ew and Sherlock to giggle. Technically Greg hadn't supposed to have to go into work, it was their three day weekend. But, they needed him at the office for some reason. Mycroft hadn't remember because he could only remember how he threw a tantrum because Daddy was supposed to spend the day with them and how Locky kept crying until 10 minutes after Greg left.
They spent the hour playing a bored game, even though their whole schedule was off. Normally Sherlock would have already had been half way through his bedtime routine while the other caretaker would be with him. By the time dinner was done however it was 9, when My should be starting his bedtime routine. But, they were getting extra time for being such good boys. My knew it was because Daddy had to work. John took Locky who was already falling asleep at the dining table to help get him ready for bed. While My got to spend alone time with Greg.
By the time it hit 10, and it was time for him to start getting ready for bed. He was pretty tired too. He didn't have energy to play in the bath. In the end bedtime went by faster than normal, there was no dragging his feet, he was really tired. Unlike normal he didn't even finish one chapter of Alice in Wonderland. Let alone his normal 2 before Daddy or Papa told him that was it.
Greg and John both kissed Mycroft's forehead after tucking him in. Quietly leaving the older little's room. “Have a good day?” The older man asked “Of course, sorry you missed it” the sandy brown hair man said. “I'll make it up to them tomorrow” Greg said with a sigh.
