Take the Blame

Yoko shot up in bed, sensing something was wrong, but not sure what. Her girlfriend was asleep, so Yoko shifted her to the side and crept to the door. Placing her ear against the wood, she can't hear much, so opens her door.

"Yoko."

"What the fuck Addams?!"

She almost jumps through the roof, a feat possible for her, but luckily she resists. The girl is silently there, a wild look in her eyes making even the vampire hesitate.

Does… does she look nervous?

"You need money, right?"

Yoko shook her head, trying to dislodge the confusion she felt.

"No, I mean always, what?"

Wednesday fished in her jacket, a rumble echoing from above before she pulled $50 in cash from her person.

"Take the blame. Take the cash."

That's when Yoko realized what was going on, what that rumbling was, right when a shout cut through the ceiling, making even Divina frown in her sleep.

"Wednesday Addams!"

Yoko swallowed.

"Double it."

A hundred dollars now faced her, Wednesday almost shaking. Yoko inhaled and took it.

"Done."

Wednesday watched her leave, idly wondering if she knew just how dangerous a situation she was taking the blame for. Hours later, Enid met Wednesday for lunch, acting like nothing had happened, kissing her in greeting.

"Hey Willa!" She announced, and Wednesday quickly kissed her cheek, the blush delightful for her to feel.

"Did you find out who destroyed your sweater?"

Enid shrugged and leant against the shorter girl.

"Yoko was trying it on apparently, but she gave me money to apologize, and look!"

She pulled her phone from her pocket, getting the website up for Jericho's craft store, specifically the wool section.

"I can now totally make us matching sweaters! I think this is the best outcome, don't you?!"

Wednesday swallowed venom that burned her throat, knowing without a doubt, this was what the vampire had intended. Her own version of revenge.

"... Absolutely."

Enid giggled and kissed her again, returning to her food as Wednesday steadied herself for what her future may hold.
