Chapter 10: Blair’s POV
As Blair strolled down the hallway to her apartment the hair on the back of her neck stood up, something was wrong. Someone had been here. She considered turning around before remembers that it was in there, it was hidden in there. She chided herself for leaving a bioterrorist weapon in her janky apartment and putting herself in this position. She tried to scan through the door, find the mind of whoever had broken into her apartment but her head throbbed in response.
Goddammit, why are you so unpredictable? She asked the power as it casually drummed a beat inside her forehead. It didn’t respond. Sighing she pulled the gun she had been carrying from her waistband and leveled it as she prepared to enter the apartment.
Flinging the door open she saw a woman sitting on her bed studying her.
“Natasha?” Blair lowered her gun in confusion, it felt ridiculous to shoot the woman whose life she had just saved a few weeks earlier.
“Hi Blair” Natasha stood up from bed and in that moment a male voice appeared behind her.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Clint.” he said shutting the door behind her. “Why don’t you put that gun on floor for me?”
Now she was trapped. Blair panicked, not letting go of the gun but she had no intention to use it either. The throbbing in her head escalated and her power broke free of its confines buzzing around the room like electricity. Natasha walked closer, brow furrowed and reached for the gun that was now pointed at the floor. Blair let her take it, her nearness helped her steady herself as her empathic power delved into the forefront of Natasha’s mind.
Concern, wariness, relief, no aggression. As a bit of pressure was relieved from her head Blair looked her up and down. She was barely armed, it was unlikely that this was an attack.
“Look, we just want to talk Blair.” Natasha said eyeing her “We know everything, about your abilities, the abduction, Hydra, being on the run, and the bioweapon.”
Natasha looked her up and down. “We can help you. And we want you to come with us.” she finished.
