Woeful Birthday
"Happy birthday κοράκι μου (my raven)!" Enid exclaimed in excitement.
"Thank you, mio sole," Wednesday sat up on her bed.
The psychic's eighteenth birthday has arrived, and the werewolf is the first to say the two words. Sinclair came into the bedroom with a tray of breakfast for her girlfriend as a small birthday surprise. She chose to wake up early and make something special for the woman she adores wholeheartedly.
"As you can see, I cooked a delicious meal for your birthday. I cannot allow my badass girlfriend to starve first thing when she wakes up on her important day," Enid grinned sweetly.
Addams blushed for a few seconds before asking, "How can I repay you?"
The blonde set the tray onto her lover's lap and replied, "A kiss would be enough."
Hearing what she wanted caused Wednesday to cup the left side of Enid's face and bring her down to give her a quick peck on the lips. The dark humored girl pulled away as the she-wolf felt extremely pleased.
"Thanks Willa. Oh! I should get my plate and eat with you. I'll be right back," the bubbly beast dashed out of the room.
Wednesday waited for Enid to return before eating her food. She killed some time by leaving the breakfast on the mattress to brush her teeth. While doing so, the sound of many footsteps were heard outside of the bathroom. The raven rinsed her mouth one last time before drying it with a small towel. Right as she opened the closed door, her family appeared with big smiles on their faces.
They yelled in sync, "Unhappy birthday Wednesday!"
"How dramatizing," the goth plainly phrased.
"Come on sis! You turned eighteen. One of the important numbers," Puglsey pointed out.
"I suppose it is important considering I'm entering into adulthood, although I felt like an adult a long time ago."
"That is true! You've matured even more than before. It's horrifying! Anyways, you're in charge for today. Name anything you'd like to do, and we will follow through with your plans my little scorpion," Gomez uttered.
The last statement made Wednesday smirk. There were a couple of devilish ideas that popped in her mind. They had to be at halt for a moment until Wednesday finished eating the repast with Enid. She also needed to be dressed for the day which did not take long.
An activity that is first in line to commit is a game called hot coal. Almost like hot potato but using a scorching hot coal from a fire Gomez has created. Enid was brave enough to try out the game. However, she was the first to be out of the match for dropping the coal. Next was Pugsley, then Morticia. Between Gomez and Wednesday, the birthday girl won.
The second pursuit is another game everyone is familiar with. Rockball fight. Everybody gathered their gears and rocks to begin the game after Lurch and Thing finished setting up the field. Once the family were geared up and in position, Lurch pulled the trigger of a pistol he had to begin.
Stones in every direction were thrown across like an entire army shooting arrows into the air. Just as Pugsley had wanted, he teamed up with the wolf secretly. They were doing decent when déjà vu emerged. The lycanthrope hid behind a barrier close to Wednesday without her knowledge until she observed Gomez tossing a pebble at her mate's way.
The psychic wasn't focused on her surroundings as she paid attention to her mother being open as a target. Enid promptly and slickly shoved Wednesday aside as the rock struck the protective creature. It led Sinclair to land on top of Addams. Without delay, Enid moved back to her spot to continue the occupation as Wednesday did the same. Per usual, the championship goes to the woeful female.
There were more activities to do, but the seer considered settling in the residence in the meantime. It gave Enid the opportunity to bring out a small cake she baked with candles lit up. Of course, nobody sang the birthday theme, yet Wednesday put out the candlesticks using her index finger and thumb. Afterwards, the raven cut the pastry with a dagger and handed slices of cake to her loved ones.
While easing and finishing devouring the dessert during the afternoon, presents were gathered by Morticia that were hidden from Wednesday's sight and taken to the dining table. The first gifts opened were from Gomez and Morticia who had gotten their daughter a taxidermy kit. The second offering from Thing and Pugsley is the newest and most expensive phone.
Last but not least is Enid's present for Wednesday. Unwrapping the dark wrapping paper with a bow on top, it turned out to be a black coat. A clothing that is the same brand and design as the therianthrope's coat she is currently wearing. It stunned her in a satisfying way.
"I thought it would be cool to have matching coats so I got you one in your signature color," Enid beamed, feeling thrilled that her gift was revealed.
"I shall wear it. Thank you, Enid," Wednesday sincerely thanked her girlfriend.
"Anything for you Wens," softly and passionately, she interacted and gazed.
As mentioned, the gothic being put on the coat without wasting any minutes. The fabric is fine quality, has some warmth to it, and fits well on Wednesday. Enid was delighted and mostly melting at how cute the birthday woman looked wearing the present she purchased. Grateful enough, Wednesday resumed the rest of her day causing fun mayhem.
Playing kickbomb, shooting bazookas, and engaging a few rounds of Russian roulette was plenty to appease the entire family. Then, dinner time was here. Lurch and Thing followed a recipe Enid had written down for them to cook. It turned out to be one of the best dishes Wednesday have had in all the birthdays that passed. The night turned out to be peaceful and tremendous for everybody. But there was one thing left to end the unforgettable night.
The last and final action that Wednesday wants to complete is playing her now favorite game, Clue, in the living room. She tends to be intrigued when determining who the murderer is, what weapon they used, and what room. The newly adult Addams is an expert at Clue as everyone else accused wrongly, although they continue to be competitive.
"Can we do multiple rounds? Wednesday easily guesses correctly most of the time," Pugsley questioned.
"Sure thing. Maybe I should buy more board games for you guys. You're really into these entertainments," Enid thought.
"I never knew there's more. You have to buy every single board game in existence," the young boy suggested.
"I'll try."
Suddenly, an unpredicted knock was heard from the foyer room. Enid and the Addams family looked at each other as if someone might've invited a guest over. When no one spoke up on who was at the door, Wednesday made an assumption.
"I see none of us are expecting anyone to arrive. I assume Uncle Fester brought himself as a surprise," the psychic made an assumption.
"He should've messaged me on my cell phone to say he would come over," Gomez was puzzled while looking through his phone in case.
"No matter. I'll get the door," Wednesday declared.
"While you do that, Enid and I can set up the game in the meantime," Pugs made known.
The pale woman gave a short nod before standing up from the sofa and made her way to the front entrance of the house. She unlocked the door and turned the knob to open and reveal the last person she wanted to see. On the other side of the door frame was Tyler. He wore regular jeans, a white shirt, and a tan jacket over it. Surprisingly, he wasn't holding a gift.
"Hey Wednesday. Uh, happy birthday," Tyler said with a hand on the back of his neck.
"What an unpleasant surprise. How did you find where I live, and why are you here?" Wednesday crossed her arms, ignoring his greetings.
"Your uncle came by the coffee shop yesterday which gave me a chance to ask him where you lived. Also, I'm here to wish you a happy birthday and was wondering if we could talk privately."
"What is there to talk about Galpin?" Wednesday raised a brow as she closed the door behind her.
"I want to sincerely apologize," the male claimed.
"Apologize?" Wednesday stared at the boy questionably.
"Yes. I want to ask for your forgiveness," Tyler glanced at the woman before he stepped down the porch.
Addams followed him and said, "You're keeping this discussion at a suspense, Tyler. Tell me what you're apologizing for."
"About you, Enid, and your relationship with her. You know how I didn't believe you were with Enid and thought I may be better for you instead of her?" Galpin reminded Wednesday as he strolled near the area covered in trees.
"I do recall," the goth answered while eyeing him weirdly.
"Well... before I apologize, I want to know what she has that I don't," he stopped by the starting point of the woods.
"My girlfriend knows what boundaries are. Enid respects and cheers anyone who has a disconsolate day. She places everyone first before herself. Not to mention Enid has taught me patience, love, and how to grow as a living mortal. She never gave up winning my respect when I first treated her like dirt. My future wife has every aspect that you don't confiscate."
Wednesday wanted to continue listing every single thing the werewolf has that Tyler doesn't, but she did not want to further the conversation. The brown haired man furrowed his eyes as if something bugged him. The raven glared at him while her back faced a deceased tree. She noticed him inching closer until he was towering her, eyeing the ring on her finger.
The small girl was about to speak until Galpin jumped in, "Future wife huh? So what if she has those qualities? Enid is nothing but a pathetic mutt. I thought I could have you to myself. It appears she beat me to it. But here's the thing, Wednesday. If I can't have you, no one can."
With that, Tyler took out a large knife hidden in the sleeve of his jacket and briskly shoved the blade into Wednesday's stomach. The psychic watched his movement as if they were in slow motion. She felt the force of the weapon going through her skin and into her flesh. Her eyes widened while slowly stumbling backwards to the tree after he let go of the handle.
Wednesday's hand was set on the timber as the other went near her wound. Tyler gaped blankly down at her with no emotions in his eyes. He watched as his former crush scrunched her face in pain, landing on the tree and sliding down against it. She lets out a weak grunt and gasps from the agony once she sat on the ground.
Blood was soaking through Addams' clothing even though she tried to stop the bleeding by applying pressure. However, it wasn't enough. Wednesday began feeling limp and lightheaded. The soreness on her skin was starting to become intense. She wasn't able to focus on Tyler as the pain took her mind away from the murderer now crouching to her height.
"This is your fault. You're to blame for my actions. If only you left Enid for me, then you wouldn't die a slow, painful death," Tyler mustered with empty eyes.
Galpin smirked wickedly when he gripped Wednesday's wrist tightly. His other hand reached over to yank the gold ring off as the raven tried fighting and scratching him. To no avail, Tyler successfully pulled the jewelry and got a good glimpse of it. Instantaneously, he tossed the ring randomly into the woods.
Never has Wednesday felt so much hatred for someone until Tyler came into her life. There were so many possibilities running through her head on how to torture and kill the boy to the brim of demise. Deep down, she knows Tyler wished he had not once taken her ring away from her finger. It belonged there for eternity.
Y-you're going to regret your decision," Wednesday remarked as her voice turned faint.
"Hmm, I don't think so. Nobody will save you. Not even your dumb girlfriend. I'm going to watch you die, and when you're gone, Enid is going to be next in line."
——————————
"Wednesday sure is taking a while. I thought she'd bring him in, but I guess not," Enid glanced at the clock on her phone before setting it on the loveseat.
"Indeed she is. We've waited long enough for her to join us for a game of Clue. It's best if I investigate what's going on," Gomez decided.
"I'll go with you," the she-wolf volunteered.
The older man nodded as they both left the living room where Pugsley, Morticia, and Thing remained. In the foyer room, Gomez let Enid leave the house first before he trailed after her. Quickly, they noticed Wednesday wasn't on the porch or anywhere in sight.
"Strange. Where did my storm cloud run off to and with who?" Gomez was getting suspicious.
Figuring out an answer for Gomez, something in mind popped in Enid's head. One of her worst fears is her lover's vision coming true. A shiver went down her spine thinking about the Hyde harming the birthday girl. She hoped Wednesday was playing a cruel joke. But because of her werewolf senses, she is able to sniff out the raven's identifiable scent.
"I hate to bring this up, but hopefully Wednesday's vision is not happening right now. I can track her down," Sinclair indicated to the father of her partner.
"Do what you must. I'll be right behind you."
The creature nodded before tilting her head back slightly to inhale the air deeply. She caught a good whiff of Wednesday's fragrance and began walking to where her girlfriend is at. The more her nose absorbed the familiar scent, the stronger it became. Without sniffing the air any longer, Enid sprinted. Gomez didn't expect her to storm off. He chased after the blonde as the two sped towards the woods on the premises.
Immediately, Enid's eyes found the goth sitting on the damp dirt. Then, a figure was hiding behind a tree from a far distance away from the dark haired woman. As the lycan slowly approached them, her breath hitched right away from the view in front of her. The pupils of the therianthrope shrunken when she saw a knife sticking out of Wednesday. What angered and saddened Enid was seeing her favorite person bleeding and in distress.
"Wednesday!" The wolf cried out as she squatted next to the psychic as Tyler examined the scene happening in his eyes from afar.
"My little viper! You're bleeding!" Gomez shouted while also squatting by Wednesday and held her frail body carefully.
"N-no. This is ketchup. It's obvious I'm b-bleeding," the braided pigtail female sarcastically stated and rolled her eyes.
"Now is not the time to fool around Wednesday. We need to get you out of here asap. Can you stand?" Enid put a hand on Wednesday's shoulder.
"My b-body ran out of strength, and T-Tyler threw my ring around this a-area," the young Addams replied.
"Neither of you three are going anywhere."
Wednesday, Enid, and Gomez turned their heads to the direction of the voice. Tyler stood tall and assured with dull and murderous eyes after leaving his hiding spot. His attention was more focused on his number one nemesis. Enid.
"You! We had a hunch it was you!" The blue eyed creature lashed out in rage as she stood up to prepare for any action that may occur.
"Wow. Congrats to you guys. You probably deserve a reward such as death for your hard work," Galpin mockingly reckoned.
Hearing the boy's response made Enid clench her hands into a tight fist. Her teeth gritted, feeling the fangs wanting to come out. The werewolf suddenly felt her eyes starting to water. Her heart ached terribly for Wednesday after seeing her in critical condition. She's not ready to lose her and will do whatever to keep her alive.
"Gomez... Take Wednesday and run back to the mansion. I will take care of this son of a bitch myself and find Wednesday's ring after," Enid's tone was nothing but filled with fury.
"W-we can't leave Enid a-alone. What happened to not l-leaving each other's side?" The freckled female drawled.
"I'm sorry Wens, but not this time. You're hurt, and I'm going to avenge you. I'll be okay, I-I promise," Enid looked back to gaze at Wednesday with tears falling down on her face and her signature smile plastered.
The raven's body froze seeing Enid cry for the first time. Her eyes wavered as she wished to comfort her beloved wolf. In the pit of her stomach, Wednesday was afraid this would be the end for either one of the couple, physically, mentally, or both. She won't be prepared from the bloodshed she seeks here if she manages to survive her own injury.
Without a thought, Gomez placed a hand under Wednesday's legs and shoulders. He did his best to pick her up gently to not cause any more damage, but the pain steadily got worse for his daughter. As she winced and gripped her father to try to release the agony, Tyler tried stopping them until Enid blocked his way.
"You're not going anywhere," the she-wolf scowled at the perpetrator.
"Don't die on m-me, Enid," Wednesday weakly demanded.
"Give it your all, daughter-in-law. Show no mercy," Gomez stated with a peak of faith.
Enid tried to figure out what to say, but it was too late. Footsteps were heard jogging away from the battle that will take place. She couldn't tell them that she will live through a fight between a brute. It's up to fate to decide where the furry beast stands.
"You cannot take me down Enid. I'm too powerful to challenge. But I guess slaughtering you will be easy. After all, the entire Addams family you love and care for will be vanquished," Tyler's voice changed as his eyes suddenly bulged out.
He was ready to form into the monster he became. His hands almost turned into claws, and his skin changed to a very pale color. Enid's rainbow fingernails and pointy canines extracted. A thick layer of fur began growing all over her body. She removed her ring, put it in the pink coat, and tossed the clothing aside before it got shredded to pieces.
Enid stared threateningly at the culprit and stated brutally, "You hurt the love of my life. The one who is destined to be with me. That's not going to slide by me. You act like you have the authorization to hurt us. However, let's get one thing straight Tyler. I'm going to be your goddamn worst nightmare! So be ready to be defeated by the most ferocious werewolf you'll ever encounter!"
Both creatures transformed at a rapid pace because of the vexation erupting. Their clothing was stretched and torn apart, falling to the ground. The hideous monster made an ear splitting screech as the Hyde high and mighty. The lycanthrope howled out of anger and grief from her mate being wounded by the enemy across.
They had an intense stare off to see who would be the first to launch a strike. Two of them growled lowly, baring their sharp teeth. Circling around one another, watching every movement made, Tyler and Enid finally leaped at each other.
