Chapter 5
"ELAINA IF YOU WANT A LIFT TO FOOTBALL YOU'D BETTER HURRY UP." Serena shouted from the bottom of the stairs.
"You really don't need to give me a lift, I can walk it to football." Elaina said as she came downstairs.
"I've told you I'll drop you off. I need to go to the supermarket anyway."
"So your not just dropping me off so you can catch a glimpse of Beth."
"Whatever gave you that idea." Serena said as she picked up the shopping bags.
"Because you're nosy. I know you Mum." Elaina smiled as she kissed Serena on the cheek.
"Mummy, will you bring me some sweets back." Macy asked as she tugged at Serena's shirt.
"Yes baby."
"Thank you." Macy hugged Serena and ran off back to the lounge.
"Are you sure you can manage the shopping on your own?"
"I'm going with Mum to help her." Cameron said as he took the shopping bags of Serena.
"Great, that's all I need, two of you gawping at Beth."
"I won't say anything."
"You better not Cam
Come on, let's go." Elaina said as she and Cameron went to the front door.
"I'll see you later, gorgeous." Serena said as she kissed Bernie.
"See you later, beautiful."
"See you in a bit Macy."
"Bye Mummy. Don't forget my sweets will you?"
"No baby I won't." Serena grabbed her car keys and went to the car.
"You should invite Beth round for tea one night." Serena said as she drove Elaina to football.
"She might not want to. She might not like me in that way."
"How do you know unless you ask her." Cameron piped up from the back seat.
"Shut up Cameron."
"Don't shout at him. He has got a point though,love."
"I know i have. Don't shout at me again. But If you fancy Beth, why don't you just tell her."
"I'm scared."
"What about. She might like you just as much."
"What will people think at school?"
"Sis we have two mum's, what the hell does it matter? Anyway you are in your last year at school. Who cares what they say. You never have to see them again once you've finished school. You only get one life. Do what makes you happy sis." Cameron said as he lent over and put his hand on Elaine's shoulder.
"Thank you Cam."
"Enjoy your training." Serena said as Elaina practically ran out of the car.
"I will. "
"Do you want me to pick up after?"
"No thanks. See you both later."
"Come and sit up front with me." Serena said. Cameron did what he was told and got in the front. Serena immediately put her arm around him and gave him a hug. "What you just said to Elaina was beautiful."
"It's true what i said though isn't it Mum.
"It is darling, yes. I love you so much Cam."
"I love you too Mum."
"Let's get to the supermarket." Serena said as she started the car.
"That was a right goal." Beth said as they walked to the changing rooms.
"Thanks."
"You're an amazing footballer." Beth blushed as she sat down.
"So are you. Have erm. Have you got anything planned for the weekend?"
"My Gran is coming tomorrow. She is having an operation on Monday and she will be staying with us for a few weeks."
"Nothing too serious I hope."
"No. But my Mum insists that she stay with us. My Dad's not very happy about it though. What about you? Have you got any plans?'
"Not really. Just probably do a bit of studying. My exams are coming up soon."
"Mine too. My parents are desperate for me to be a Dr."
"My Mum's a Dr and a surgeon."
"She must be clever then."
"I guess."
"What does your Dad do?"
"My Momma has her own gym."
"Your Momma."
"Yes. I don't have a Dad. I have two Mum's."
"Wow really."
"Yes really."
"How is that ,being brought up by two women?
"I love having two Mum's. They are both amazing. They love one another so much. They are happy together."
"Has it been hard for them?"
"They don't say. But if two people really like each other It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks. Does it?" Elaina said as she gently put her hand on top of Beth's.
"I guess not. I better go. I'll see you next week." Beth said as she ran out of the changing rooms.
