Chapter 14

The day passes quickly and soon Peter is heading off to lunch. Wade is at practice, so he doesn’t suspect that they’ll be eating lunch together. He sees Wes and Vanessa on his way to the cafeteria and sends them a wave. Wes waves back, an odd smile on his face and Vanessa sends him her trademark smirk and a wink. Peter frowns to himself before waving it off. Vanessa always has a smirk. When he gets to the cafeteria, however, he realizes that the smirk Vanessa gave was not the usual one.

Peter gawks. There’s a huge sign with badly drawn cartoons that look a lot like Wade and him. Holding hands, and kissing. Not only that, but at the bottom of it, in bright pink, bold writing, the sign says “Peter Parker: Off the Market by Wade Wilson”. Peter feels his blush hot on his face. Looking around he sees that everyone, literally everyone, in the cafeteria is looking directly at him. Their faces just as shocked as his.

Then there’s Wade.

Wade, who’s holding the biggest bunch of red and pink roses that Peter has ever seen. Or been given, for that matter. His mile is huge. Wade’s adorable dimples are on display. His brown eyes are glowing with mirth and fondness as he waggles his eyebrows at Peter before making his way over to where he’s rooted to the spot. Peter feels a strong rush of affection for the boy in front of him.

Wade holds out the flowers to him when he’s a foot or so away. With trembling hands, Peter reaches for them only for Wade to pull them out of reach. Cocking his head, Peter looks at his boyfriend curiously. Wade winks, then puckers his lips. Peter’s eyes widen and he looks around the room cautiously. Wade’s eyes soften.

Before Peter can back away, his boyfriend cups his cheek delicately, before leaning in and placing a gentle kiss on his mouth. Peter hears everyone gasp, then loud cheers of wolf whistles cut through the air. They’re both grinning too big to kiss again, so Peter just clings to Wade. His hands bunched into the soft material of his sweatshirt. Wade hangs on to him just as tight and Peter can feel jis smile against the side of his head.

“Alright, alright!” Wade yells out, good naturedly, “Show’s over, carry on and remember, this one here is mine!” Pulling back, he beams down at Peter. “Too much?” he asks, his smile growing timid.

Peter just kisses him again. “You’re very sweet,” he laughs, smelling his flowers. “No one’s ever given me flowers before.”

“Oh, baby boy,” Wade says, “I’m gonna shower you in flowers. Swear to God you’ll be sick of them.”

Peter smiles before asking, “So, what’s all this about?” he blanches, “It isn’t Valentines Day, is it?”

“No, Petey Pie, It’s not,” Wade says, rolling his eyes before flushing slightly.

“Then what’s all this for, Wade?” Peter wonders, eyes looking back to the sign and down to the flowers held tightly in his hands.

“I’m wooing you,” Wade shrugs, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Gotta woo you to keep you and I really, really wanna keep you.”

Peter grins, placing a light kiss on Wade’s cheek, mumbling, “Then I’m going to woo you, too.”

“Yeah?” Wade asks, laughing.

“Yeah,” Peter nods, “I want to keep you, too.”

Peter really likes the way Wade blushes and hides in the crook of his neck at the bold declaration.

“Well, baby boy,” Wade mutters into his shirt, “Can’t wait to be woo’d by you.” He looks up from his hiding place with a smirk. “Woo me like one of your French girls.”

Peter groans.

Wade laughs loudly.

Peter intends to do just that.
