The Beginning of a New Nightmare...?
Blake sat up after she woke up gasping, covered in sweat. She regretted sitting up, wincing in pain, she laid back down. She looked at her stomach area and saw bandaging. Blake took a deep breath and looked around.
"Okay... uh..." Blake then spots her clothes on a chair. Her eyes widened at the sight of how much blood there was. She was going to need new clothes. Blake frowns. She really liked what she had.
Blake looks up at the ceiling, relaxing her head. She knows she's hurt... but... she's thirsty. It wouldn't hurt to just...
Blake carefully swung her leg off the bed. Just noticing how bruised she was. Her stomach really hurts from getting a hard punch. Her head hurts too. Sitting up slowly. She took a deep breath and stood up. Holding onto the dresser edge for dear life. If she let go, she's gonna get a face full of carpet and dust.
She carefully walks across the room. Heading to the door, she opens it, surprised to see someone. Yang was just about to open the doorknob. She and Yang blinked at each other.
"Wh- Blake! You're supposed to be in bed!" Yang frowns. Blake let out a nervous noise.
"I... I'm sorry. I'm just thirsty... I was gonna get water." Blake explained and Yang's shoulder relaxed. She let out a sigh and carefully took Blake back to the bed, adding some extra pillows so Blake could sit up somewhat, comfortably.
"I'll get you some water. Be right back!" Yang smiles. She left, after a few seconds, she returns to Blake, handing her a cup. Blake took it and drank it. Her dry throat was thankful for some water.
"Ah... Thank you Yang." Blake said. Why is she fidgeting? Blake doesn't feel nervous... or is she? Blake doesn't get it.
"Geez." Yang sat on the edge of the bed. Stretching her arms. "You scared the shit out of me! I came over to help you and I see you on the ground bleeding! I really thought you were gone." Yang then smiles. "But I'm glad you're here with us. You stayed strong. I'm proud of you."
Blake gave Yang a quick small smile before she tenses her shoulders. "uhm... Wh... What happened to Adam...?" Blake looks at Yang with worried look in her eyes. Yang frowns. She looks away, taking a deep. Yang knows she has to tell Blake this.
It's the right thing to do. Yang makes eye contact with the nervous faunus. "He's gone."
"Gone...?" Blake blinks. "As in.."
"Dead. He's dead. We killed him." Yang finished. Blake stared at Yang in shock.
"We...? But Yang I- I didn't-"
"You were barely awake but you grabbed your weapon when I kicked Adam away, he was coming towards you. He fell onto your knife. I took that chance to stab him as well." Yang explained.
Killed. Blake killed Adam. She should be happy. She should be. She's free from that asshole! She's free! The White Fang war is over!
But... Blake tears up. Its the thought she did everything with Adam. Adam was genuinely was a good man, till he became the leader of the White Fang. Blake cries, as Yang pulls her into a comforting hug. Blake couldn't believe that she killed Adam. It didn't feel real at all.
"Damnit...!" Blake cried. Yang could only comfort Blake. Not able to say much. Other then whisper to her she's gonna be okay.
Blake was reading a book in her bed. Letting time go flying off. Lost in her world of reading. Till Yang had to snap Blake out of it. Blake turned her head towards Yang in surprise. Yang gave the Faunus a small smile when she presented a bowl of Ramen.
"It has tuna in it. Your favorite."
Blake took it, already in bliss when she smelled it. It smelled so good. She immediately dug in.
"There's the smile. I was hoping this would make you feel better." Yang smiles. She eats her own Ramen with Blake.
"Huh? Don't you wanna eat with everyone else?"
"Ruby and Weiss will be fine. Plus their bickering drives me crazy. You would think I'd be used to it by now." Yang giggles. Blake let out a 'huh' noise before looking back at her food. She stares at it.
"I got your favorite." Adam smiles. Blake smiled bigger then him, taking the bowl. She had a happy energy radiating off. At the time, Blake didn't know just how manipulative Adam was.
"Adam you're so sweet. Thank you. This means a lot to me." Blake said. Adam chuckles. His gentle expression on his face always brought comfort to Blake
"Of course. How could I not do anything for a beautiful bad ass Faunus?" Adam caressed Blake's cheeks. She stares into his blue eyes. Blushing.
Suddenly she got flashback to when Adam was screaming at her. Blood dripping down her face. She cries out in pain and fear.
Blake tenses up. She wished she knew sooner so that she didn't hurt Adam so much. But now he is dead... and Blake didn't get a chance to say goodbye or apologize. She did feel guilty. Even if it wasn't her fault.
"Blake...?" Blake looks up, gazing at Yang, who called her name in concern. "You okay? You suddenly went quiet."
"I'm always quiet Yang."
"Well- yeah, but I meant like... uh." Yang paused, thinking of how to use her words. She then resumed. "You looked like you had a lot on your mind. Something wrong? I'm your friend. Aren't I?" Yang gave Blake a comforting smile.
"Adam said the same thing to me. I'm your friend, aren't I? He was really good at guilt tripping me."
"So Adam is on your mind..."
Blake sighs. She nods. "It's just- I- mgh." The Faunus sets the bowl down on the dresser. Taking a quick sigh, she finally finds her words.
"Adam and I used to date. We were close. Adam was a good guy. Was. I really did love him. Then the whole White Fang thing happened and I sorta... fell apart with him. It still hurts because, I... still love him. I hate him but I love him. I really miss his old self..." Blake tears up but she quickly wipes them away. "It's stupid. I know. I- I just. I-"
"Blake. You have every reason to feel like this. No one's gonna judge you. Not me at least. Honestly I'd feel the same if I was in your shoes. Though I'd probably beat the shit out of him." Yang said. It did make Blake giggle a bit. Yang takes Blake's hand.
"Let it out. It'll feel better afterwards."
Blake then bawled again. Yang sat there, saddened by her own friend crying like this, but it did make Yang feel better. She was sure that Blake never cries. Or not in public at least. Yang could be 100% wrong. Blake might have cried to herself sometimes.
Blake is known to hide her feelings sometimes. She's definitely gotten better with it but it still needs work. Blake sobbed into her hands. Yang was staring at Blake's ears. It was all... what's the word...? Hm... sploot? It's floppy. Yang's cheeks went pink. She suddenly grabs Blake's ears. Making her yelp and sit up straight, her cheeks pink as well. Her eyes were all glassy, her under eyes all pink and irritated. But there's just something about Blake that makes... Yang's heart... flutter?
"Y-Yang?? Wha-What are you doing? Let go of my ears please!"
"B-But its so cute and soft!" Yang gently rubs the ears.
"Yang!" Blake hissed. Yang threw her hands back, laughing nervously.
"Okay okay!"
Blake stares at Yang in confusion. "Sorry. Couldn't help it." Yang laughs. Blake gazed before smiling a bit. Laughing with her. Right. Yang is always that friend who always makes you feel better no matter what. Even when they're not doing it on purpose. That's why Blake really adores her friend Yang.
"Oh yeah. It's gonna get really cold tonight. Do you want extra blankets? It might actually snow tonight." Yang said as she looks out from the window.
"That would be nice. Thank you Yang" Blake wipes away her tears. She watches Yang grab some spare blankets from the closet. She then throws it at Blake who let out a yelp. Making Yang laugh. Blake pulls the blanket off her head. Glaring at Yang.
"Oh you look 'furry' upset..."
"Yang I'm going to smack you with no hesitation."
"That's hot"
"Y-YANG!!" Blake turned red and panicked. She covers her face. Sliding it down. "God... I don't miss you."
"Aww you don't? Well I missed you. Been missing you when you were asleep." Yang smirks. Blake rolls her eyes and pushes Yang's face away.
"Weirdo." Blake laughs. Yang then remembered to do something.
"Oh that's right! I have to switch out your bandages. Can you sit up? Or is that too painful for you?"
"Oh. Okay. Yeah. I think so." Blake carefully sat up. Facing towards Yang. She had brought the bandages and forgot to change Blake's after being distracted. Blake distracted Yang. Hm.
"I can do it myself..." Blake grabs the bandages.
"You sure? I don't mind doing it for you. Anyth-"
"I'm good. Thank you." Blake lifts her shirt up to change the bandages. While she was doing it, she had some things on her thought. Looking at her old scar, having a X shape.
"YANG!!! NOOOO!!! Oh my god... no no... oh god...! Adam what the hell?! Yang! YANG! WAKE UP! PLEASE! I- I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry!" Blake cried, holding her waist as she had to witness Adam slice Yang's arm clean off.
"This is gonna leave a scar isn't it..."
"I mean... I would be surprised if it didn't. The sword went through you. No way would it not. Why? You still look beautiful with the scars anyways."
Blake jerked her head up. She shook her head. "T-Thats not what I meant! I- I mean thank you! But- I meant it as... well. This old scar will always remind me of my worst memory... and now I have a new one." Blake pulls her shirt down.
"Hey." Yang pulls her prosthetic arm off. "I'm literally missing an arm. This is basically a horrible scar memory for me." She then puts the arm back on. Maintaining eye contact with Blake."It's okay to feel like that honestly. I- hm. My hands would shake sometimes when I think about that accident." Yang holds her own hands.
"I'm still guilty." Blake looks down.
"Wh-What? Why?"
"I'm the reason you lost your arm! I still don't know how you aren't mad at me still! I mean you were mad when I found you guys after I ran away an-"
Blake's mouth was then covered by Yang's hand. Shutting her up. She moves her hand away. Keeping a serious look. "Blake. I was never mad at you for the accident. I was mad because you abandoned us all. You ran away. That...really hurt my feelings. So much. But I'm not mad at you for my arm. In fact this is epic! Look! It can vibr-"
"Don't even bother finsihing that sentence."
"Yes ma'am." Yang did a salute before giving Blake a big smile. Blake smiles.
"Thank you. I- I'm so sorry. I-I promise I won't leave you again..."
Yang smiles. "I know you won't."
Blake stares. Whats with this feeling in her heart right now...? Ah it must be from the flashback. That would explain why her heart is beating so much. Blake shook the thought away.
"I'm gonna rest. Thank you for the food and blankets." The Faunus then laid down. Getting comfortable.
"Kay. I'll see you tomorrow morning. Get a good rest. Don't stay up reading late." Yang waves before leaving the room. Blake laid there. Rolling onto her side.
"Yang..." Blake whispered to herself. There was just something bugging her, and she couldn't pin what.
That's something she can figure out tomorrow. Right now, she's tired. Blake closes her eyes.
