Screaming the Silence

"Ah." Blake tenses up when a snowflake hits her snow. Blake was never fond of the cold. She didn't like it one bit. Blake was outside in the cold wearing her winter gear. It's been almost a week since she woke up. Her wound was better then it was before.

"Hey. Don't forget your scarf."

Blake's ears perks up, she looks behind, seeing Yang in her winter gear, holding a scarf out with a smile on her face. Blake takes the scarf, wrapping it around her neck.

"Thanks."

"Man... it snowed a lot!" Yang kneels down to pick up a handful of snow. Blake then sensed something was coming towards her. She used her semblance to make the snowball miss.

"Aw man! No fair!" Yang groaned out. She then got a face full of snow. Blake had hit bullseye and started laughing. Yang was on the snow laying down. Surprised by what happened. Eventually Blake appears in her view.

Blake looks over before reaching her hand out, giggling. Yang let Blake pull her back up.

"Guess I lost huh?" Yang gave Blake a happy look.

"That's what happens when you try to surpise attack me. I'm just that good."

Blake and Yang proceeded to head out. They were heading out to keep an eye out for any potential lurking Grimms. After all they were staying in a cabin for now. Blake didn't know that she was in the cabin with her team so they could at least get away from all the chaos and give Blake a break. Yang explained to her team about just how deep Blake's backstory with Adam was.

It was best for her mental state. Especially after almost dying. Someday, Yang wants to bring Blake to her home. So she can tell her that this is also her home because she's always welcome. Yang just wants to see everyone be okay.

"Are you sure you're up to this?" Yang checks with Blake, confirming if Blake truly is up for possible fighting.

"Mmhm. I am. It's been a week Yang. My aura did all the work for healing. I'm good to go." Blake reassured.

"Okay. I'm just checking...!" The blondie spoke. Blake was about to say something else till she heard something. Her ears perked up, turning around as she listened to her surroundings.

Yang notices this. She doesn't say a word so she doesn't distract Blake. Eventually Blake pulls out her weapon. "There's a Grimm near by. Be careful Yang."

Yang nods and gets her gauntlet loaded up. She and Blake carefully walked past pine trees, eventually spotting a Ursa Grimm.

Blake and Yang looked at each other before nodding. They then lunged at the Grimm, who then stood up. Blake then slid under the Ursa as she wrapped her ribbon around the legs and pulling back. Making the Grimm fall over. Yang took that chance to jump up into the air, pulling back her arm, and slamming a fist into the Ursa head. Who then disappeared.

"Whew! That was a piece of cake." Yang grins as she held up a hand. Blake smiles and gave the blondie a high five. Though their celebration was cut short when they heard more Grimm coming. They must have heard them.

"More? Heh. We can take them can we?" Yang had a smirk on her face. Blake nods. A group of Beowolfs came towards them, and Yang punches it's face, sending it flying. Blake stabs the being with her sword, before shooting at the other Beowolf in the head.

She runs by the Beowolf before swinging her weapon around. She was doing fairly well till something strange occurred. Blake was getting ready to fight another Grimm when she suddenly held her cat ears as she screams in pain. She falls onto her knees.

"B-Blake?!" Yang shouted as she ran past Blake to attack the incoming Grimm, sending a punch in the way. The Beowolf was slammed against a tree. The worried blondie runs back to Blake. "Blake what's wrong?!" Yang shouts. Blake can't hear Yang.

It's as if she's hearing something Yang can't hear. Yang held Blake's cheeks. "BLAKE!" Blake opens her eyes, her pained expression confused Yang.

"Make it stop...! My ears!" Blake shook her head. Making Yang move her hands away. She frantically looked around. What is happening? What's wrong with Blake?

"Okay. We are leaving. Hang on Blake!" Yang grabs Blake's hand and pulled her, as they both ran away. After a long run, they finally came to a stop when they confirmed they're safe. For now.

Blake isn't yelling anymore but Yang noticed a small line of blood running down the Faunus's face.

"Blake...!" Yang held Blake's head to examine for any potential wounds, but she couldn't find anything. Blake pushes Yang back.

"Yang." Blake was being loud that Yang had to cover her mouth.

"You're being too loud..." Yang hisses.

"I- I can't hear you right now." Blake said. Yang blinks before the new info processed.

"Huh?" Yang squints her eyes in confusion. Just what happened back there...?

Unless... Blake was in pain earlier and was covering her ears. Now she states that she can't hear. Her ears must be bleeding.

Yang didn't hear anything though. That's the only part that had her stumped. Maybe Blake hit her head somehow? But Yang knows that Blake was standing the entire battle. That just wouldn't be possible.

Yang was so lost in her thought that she hasn't registered that Blake was crying. While Yang didn't understand what happened, she wipes Blake's tears away, giving her a comforting smile. The blondie then puts a finger on her lips, telling Blake to be quiet.

Blake gets the gesture and nods. Yang looks around before she helps Blake get back to the cabin.

"My head is still ringing." Blake was still a bit loud. She was sitting on the couch as she wipes off the blood from her face and ears.

"Can you hear us now?" Weiss questioned.

"Kinda..." Blake rubbed her ears. Weiss tilts her head. She looks at Yang for answers, to which her only response she got was a shrug.

"What happened?"

"I- I don't know really. I heard a really painful high pitch noise... Yang could you hear it?" Yang shook her head. Blake raised an eyebrow. Now she's just as confused as Yang is. "Maybe I bumped my head."

"I dunno. You were screaming in pain. Not something that would just hurt later on." Yang brought up. She's right. Blake was in a lot of pain. Blake puts her head on her hands.

"Agh... I don't know. It just hurts to think."

"Take it easy, okay?" Yang puts a hand on her shoulder. Blake nods, she decided to go to bed early. Blake had a hunch of what could be all of this, but she's not so sure anymore.

"I could've sworn I saw a strange grimm..." Blake muttered. She closes her eyes. Letting her unconsciousness take her over.

"Blake!" Yang yells as she waves from distance. Blake was running towards Yang, smiling. She was with Weiss and Ruby.

"Yang. I can't hear you. Speak up!" All Blake could hear is muffled noises. Laughter? Chatting? Blake can't tell.

But judging from her friend's expressions, everyone's happy. So Blake smiles as well.

Yang let out the worse muffled scream. Blake's eyes widen as she witnessed both of Yang's arm get slash off and then stabbed through in the chest. Ruby crying out for Yang till she also got stabbed Weiss didn't have enough time to react and her head was then stabbed.

Blake stood there, frozen in fear when she realized who it was...

"Miss me kitten? I will always come back to see you again." Adam licked his lip. Blood splatter was all over his face. Blake was shaking. Adam gets closer till his face was in front of Blake's.

"Why don't we go back to White Fang? Where we can be happy... I'll get whatever you want... we have the power." Adam caressed Blake's face. Having that sinister grin on his face. Blake then felt her chest get stabbed by Adam's weapon. She felt blood dripping down her chin.

"I'll see you soon Kitty..." Adam laughs. Blake fell foward and suddenly she is still falling. She's not at the snowy forest anymore. She's falling down in an endless pitch.

"I'll always find you!"

Blake saw a huge figure of Adam staring at Blake. He's huge! His body then melted into blood and guts. Blake then falls onto a hard surface. She is on verge of hyperventilating. Blake pushed herself up and looked ahead, only to see rotting Yang. Blake let out a scream. She can't breathe.

Her eyes is set on the body in front of her. It is a horrifying sight to look, so horrible she can't explain it. Blake was crying.

"Don't cry, kitty. Your friends are worthless. Do not worry. I'll be your... friend." Adam pulls Blake up, who then pushed him away.

"GET AWAY!" Blake screamed. Adam pulls out his katanas. Blake would've fought him now but she is filled with fear that she just ran away.

"You abandoned me Blake. You really are just gonna run away again?" Yang's voice echoed in her head. Blake is sobbing as she shakes her head.

"No! I- I'm n-" Blake can't breathe. She falls onto her knees right into the bloody mud. When was it raining? Where is she again? All the sudden all the sounds was gone. Blake can't hear. She started to panic. She can feel footsteps getting closer. She can't hear. She can't hear! Blake hyperventilated. She turned around seeing Adam. He raises his katana. She can't move. She's frozen. Blake begged for mercy. Adam grin. He swung-

Blake let out a loud scream. She sits up in her bed. Covered in sweat as she tries to process what just happened. She holds her forehead as she struggles to take in air. She was gasping.

"BLAKE!"

Suddenly the door to her guest room was swung open. Her team rushed in thinking Blake was in danger. They were still in pajamas.

"Blake?! Wha-" Before Weiss could even finish, she then realized what happened. Lowering her Myrtenaster, in fact she sets on the floor before she paced walk to Blake. Sitting on the bed to hold Blake's hands. Ruby joins on the bed along with Yang.

Blake can feel her senses fading into a muffled nonexistent sound. Her vision darkens. She feels numb. To Blake's fear she started to hyperventilate. She can't register what is happening around her but her chest really hurts. So much. She can't stop crying. She can't breathe. Blake sobbed.

"Bl..... Br...th..."

"B...ke!"

"...e..p.....eath....!"

"BLAKE!"

All the sudden she felt her face being grabbed. Finally she can see. Yang was holding her face with a serious look.

"Deep breath! Take a deep breath!"

Deep breath. Right. Deep breath. Deep breath. Just keep trying. Deep breath. Deep breath.

Blake repeated the thoughts in her mind. Eventually she was able to take in a shaky deep breath. Still quick, but it was a start.

"There...! Keep doing that. You're doing great Blake. We're here. We're all here." Yang let go of Blake's face, as she smiles.

Blake closes her eyes. Taking some more deep breath. Her breathing slowed. She kept doing it till she's able to control herself.

"Blake...?"

Blake opens her eyes. Seeing her worried team staring at her. They're on her bed. Weiss had her hair down, her beautiful long white hair always surpsied Blake. How on earth does she keep it so white and soft! She must carry a brush with her everywhere. Weiss was holding one of Blake's hand. Caressing with her thumb. Ruby, wearing a very cute childish pajamas, was holding a water bottle that she patiently waited to give to Blake. Which she did drink. Yang was in front of her, only wearing a tank top and shorts. Really? In the winter?

"I- I'm sorry..."

"Hey. There's nothing to be sorry. You're okay. I think." Yang spoke. Weiss eyed at Yang before looking at the Faunus with a gentle expression.

"Are you okay? You just had a panic attack." Weiss questioned. Blake wanted to say yes she is okay but nothing comes out of her mouth. She knows deep inside she isn't okay.

Blake just had the worse nightmare where her friends died because she failed to hear her surroundings, and Adam constantly finding her. Blake was shaken up. Terribly.

"I- I'm... not sure. I don't know." Tears threatened to spill out again. Suddenly Weiss pulls Blake into a hug. To which the dam broke. Ruby and Yang hugs Blake.

There's one thing that is currently making her happy, and that is that she is reminded that she's never alone. Never.

Blake cried, which is not something her team sees. Blake is known to keep her emotions in. Yang frowns at the sight of Blake completely falling apart. Yang thought a grimm broke in and was after Blake. She was full on ready to beat the living shit out of the Grimm. Yang was still half asleep when she barged inside but hearing Blake's sobbing woke her up.

Now here she is. Hugging Blake because she needs one. Desperately. Yang has only had one panic attack in her life. Sometimes Ruby gets one, but rarely. Yang has never seen an attack this awful. Being tricked into thinking you are being suffocated.

Yang worries for Blake. It had to be bad if Blake got one. She sighs to herself as she gently rubs Blake's back.

Eventually Blake calms down, her puffy pink eyes was visible. Yang notices that Blake's hands are shaking. Yang decided to leave the room to get something.

"I'm sorry I woke you all up. It was just a stupid nightmare."

"That didn't sound like just a normal nightmare. You sound like you just went through a path Death walked on." The Ice Queen was worried.

"I- It was awful... you guys died and... A-A... Adam..."

"Okay that's enough." Yang then threw pillows & blankets at Blake. Weiss let out an angry noise while Ruby yelp in surpise.

"Yang..!" Not again. Blake perks her head out of the mountain of blankets and pillows. She sees Yang standing in the middle of the room.

"Let's have a sleepover in this room. It'll be fun!" Yang smiled. Blake blinks. Sleepover? At a time like this?

"YAY! Sleepover!" Ruby jumped off the bed to set up her own bed. Weiss eyed at Yang who mouthed something at her. Weiss sighed and got off to make her bed as well. Yang walks up to Blake.

"Sorry didn't mean to get bullseye... orrr... maybe it was my payback for getting me back there." Yang smirks. Blake blinks, confused on what Yang was talk- oh the snowball fight.

"Hehe! It's allllll fair now." Yang then laid down halfway on Blake's bed.

"Why are you guys... doing this? It's late, I don't wanna keep you guys up." Blake felt guilty that she's the reason everyone is up.

"Well- cause you need us! Duh! We care about you Blaaakeee!" Ruby smiled.

"What she said." Weiss smiles a bit. Yang had a big smile. It made Blake smile a bit.

"Annnd there's the smile!" Yang pokes at Blake's nose, who scowls and proceeded to shove a pillow at Yang's face making her panic while Ruby laughs in the background.

Yang sits up laughing. Blake joins in. Suddenly all the dark thoughts in her head was being replaced with happy things. It's almost funny.

Yang who can be on fire, and has yellow hair. She is like the sun. Who can burn the darkness away. Always beaming with a smile that always warms people up.

Then there's Blake. Black and dark past. She often hides her emotions but ever since she met Yang, her world is being lit up by Yang.

Blake can't help it but wonder why she's feeling that same fluttery feeling again.

"How's your hearing by the way?" Yang distracts Blake from her thoughts.

"Better. I can hear you guys again." Blake nods with her positive response.

"That's good. It would be unfortunate if it was permanent." Weiss comments.

"It's.... scary. To think that one day I might just go deaf. I rely on my hearing to hear things around me and behind. It's like a third eye for me. Second senses. If that makes sense." Blake explained.

"It's like super power." Yang smiles.

"Not really... I can get overwhelmed. Which is why I hate crowds so much."

"Ooohhhhh that would explain!" Yang exclaimed. Blake chuckles at Yang's reaction. The RWBY chatted for a few minutes before they all decided to go to bed.

"Goodnight Blake!" Ruby then laid down.

"Night." Weiss falls asleep.

"Blake." Yang made Blake roll over to look at Yang who was sitting up on the floor. Yang smiles. "Sweet dreams. Wake me up if you need anything." Yang then yawned.

"Okay Yang... Goodnight."  Blake smiles. Yang laids down, rolling onto her side, facing away from Blake's bed. Blake was staring at Yang's amputated limb. She frowns.

Blake knows that it's not her fault, but the guilt still lingers. She is...the reason Yang lost her arm.

"I won't run away... I'll... I'll do everything I can to keep you all safe..." Blake whispered to herself before she got comfortable to fall asleep.

Yang was still awake and heard Blake say that. Yang was gonna talk to Blake the next day. She really needs tell Blake that it's not her fault. Everything then fell to a peaceful sleep.
