Chapter 19

Dong managed to make it to the apartment in fifteen minutes and was able to get in rather quickly. The two were nervous as they went up the elevator, immediately hearing their muffled shouting the second they got closer to the apartment.

Minji went to knock, only to be stopped by her girlfriend. The bunny watched as she input the code, successfully opening the door.

“All you ever do is complain! How am I supposed to know anything other than that?!” Yoohyeon shouted.

Dong stepped in before the bunny, and was in shock at how loud the argument was getting. She looked around, a little relieved she didn’t see Jiyoon, at least until she saw the little pup hiding under the kitchen table.

“Oh so we’re pointing out each other’s faults now?!” Siyeon snapped.

“I’m just saying! I’m sick and tired of your attitude! You never talk to me anymore! You just keep me around for babysitting and whenever you want something!” Yoohyeon barked.

Minji shook her head at the loudness, frowning as she stepped in.

“What the hell is going on here?!” Dong shouted, catching their attention.

Minji watched as they argued, letting out a sigh until she felt little hands tugging at her skirt. She looked down to see Jiyoo practically trying to climb her leg to get away from everything.

“You’re okay…” Minji knelt down, hugging the puppy tightly before hearing them again.

“Of fucking course,” Siyeon scoffed.

Dong and Yoohyeon glanced over at what Siyeon was staring at, causing Dong to be confused, but Yoohyeon let out a growl.

“Maybe if you treated her like a pup rather than a human child she would come to you for comfort,” Yoohyeon barked.

“Excuse me?!” Siyeon whipped her head around to look at the puppy, immediately screaming at her while Yoohyeon matched her volume.

Minji frowned when the pup in her arms started shaking, pulling her ears down and whining. She could feel her shirt getting soaked with tears, and she hated every single minute of what was going on. But she wasn’t a peace keeper. She was just a bunny. A bunny who needed to keep the pup in front of her sane and safe.

“Jiyoon-ah, let go of her,” Siyeon glared, causing the bunny to look up at the human.

She could see the still angry expression Yoohyeon carried, but was more situated behind Dong now.

“Jiyoon-ah,” Minji whispered. “You have to let go.” She kept her voice quiet and low, not wanting to startle the pup or cause anymore problems.

The puppy shook her head, letting out tiny, choked sobs as she clung to the bunny. Minji could practically feel the tension building again in the room, but this time it was directed at her.

“I said, let go!” Siyeon shouted, moving closer this time.

It was fast. Blurry even.

Minji didn’t know exactly what happened, but she felt a hand around her ears and then a very violent yank back. She heard more shouting and more crying. By the time she looked over, Yoohyeon was near her with Jiyoon attached to her hip.

“Unnie… You okay?” Yoohyeon’s voice sounded distant, causing her to shake her head before looking over to see Dong already pinning Siyeon against the wall. “Dongdong!” Yoohyeon barked, catching the human’s attention.

Yoohyeon left with Dong and Minji, ignoring the muffled apologies from the blonde. The pup kept an eye on the bunny, watching the tears slowly and silently roll down her cheeks.

The bunny had a raging headache, and her ears were burning from everything that happened. When they got back to Dong’s apartment, the human wanted to check her girlfriend, but the bunny refused and sat on their bed, away from everyone.

She hugged one of the larger pillows, crying into the soft fabric. She hated everything about what happened and wished none of it happened in the first place.

“Hey,” Dong whispered when she walked in. She watched the bunny tense, and then relaxed after she heard the familiar voice. “Tell me what you need,” She frowned while kneeling in front of her.

“Don’t leave,” Minji sniffed.

“I’m not going anywhere.”

Morning came sooner than anyone wanted, Dong held onto Minji while she slept, sighing at the night prior. She saw the dried tear tracks on Minji’s cheeks and she hated it. Hated that she couldn’t step in fast enough to stop Siyeon but she didn’t expect her to react that way either.

The bunny next to her stirred slightly, causing Dong to look over and watch Minji scrunch up her nose before cuddling closer to Dong. She couldn’t help but smile, happy that Minji was still this trusting with her.

Eventually the bunny did wake, wincing when she rolled onto her ears.

“You can sleep more. It’s the weekend,” Dong whispered.

“My head hurts too much,” Minji grumbled before hiding her face in Dong’s neck.

“Do you want some pain killers?”

“Yes please… I have a bottle of my aspirin in your cabinet…” She mumbled.

“Does it have a rabbit on it?” Dong asked, feeling her nod her head. “I was wondering what that was,” she chuckled.

Minji spent most of the day in bed, nursing her headache and not really doing much. She heard talking and immediately recognized Yoohyeon’s voice. She felt that the pup must’ve stayed the night since she didn’t hear the front door open.

“Siyeon’s been texting me. Telling me how sorry she is for how she acted. Honestly… I want to grab her by the ears and show her how much pain that is…” Dong sighed.

“I didn’t know she would hurt Minji unnie… I feel like it’s my fault…” Yoohyeon whimpered.

“Don’t. None of us expected her to do that.”

Minji wanted to put the pillow over her head, but she couldn’t. Not without it hurting her ears that were still throbbing at this point.

“Should we call Bora?” Dong whispered. “Just so she can be with Minji?”

“Bora will kill Siyeon,” Yoohyeon muttered. “But I think it’ll help Minji if we invite her over.”
