Chapter 11

She had gone on a few dates, most of them involving food. But for the ones that didn’t, Minji made sure everything was interesting.

“So I may have… omitted the truth a bit when I told you what I do…” Minji frowned while they walked through a park.

“Oh?” Dong asked.

“I have two jobs… one is really self-made? Not a business just like my own schedule and whatnot,” She shrugged.

“What is it?”

Minji stopped in her tracks, feeling a little nervous. This was the make or break for whatever this relationship was going to be.

“I…” she looked around, making sure no young kits were nearby. “I’m… a cam bunny…” She stated calmly.

“That’s…” Dong looked at her, a little confused before speaking again, “like… sexual?” She asked quietly.

“Yeah… It’s all solo stuff, nothing duo, well… not since kitty got married but it’s been years since that, but I… didn’t feel right keeping that from you if we keep this going.” Minji was a little nervous. She liked Dong, she was afraid the human would just drop her right there.

“And you told me this… because you want to keep going?” Dong frowned.

“I really like you and I didn’t feel right lying to you about why I couldn’t do things when I was doing sessions…” she pouted. “And if this keeps going then… it wouldn’t feel right for me to just keep that from you…”

“Well, I’m glad you feel comfortable enough to share it with me.” Dong took her hand, giving her a smile before continuing their walk.

The bunny was a little surprised that she didn’t say anything more. So after a few steps, she stopped again, still frowning and entirely confused at what was going on.

“What?” Dong frowned.

“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Minji asked.

“Does it need a response? That’s your occupation, you didn’t say you were ashamed of it and you want to move our relationship forward. I would like to take that next step too… So I’m accepting it and not judging you for it,” she shrugged.

Minji blinked a few times, staring at the human.

“You… you’re okay with it?” Minji asked.

“Why wouldn’t I? It’s your business,” she stated.

The bunny was dumbfounded. She had no words to even come back to that. The human was being considerate and so kind about it.

“So what is our next step?” The bunny took a step forward, looking the human in the eyes.

“Well I would like you to be my girlfriend,” Dong smiled.

“I think we can do that.”

Dong sat at a table, picking at her salad while listening to her best friend go on about her work and life updates since they hadn’t had a chance to talk in a while.

“So… What’s new with you?” Siyeon asked.

“Well… I’ve been seeing someone,” Dong smiled. She watched her best friend light up at the news as she took a bite of her pasta.

“Go on! Tell me about her!” Siyeon gasped.

“Well… She has an amazing personality. She’s got a great sense of humor, well… It’s good and she has these corny jokes that make her light up and smile and honestly laugh really loud…” Dong explained while recalling the memory of Minji making herself laugh incredibly hard at her own joke. “But she’s honestly great,” She whispered.

“I’m glad you’re finally getting over your last relationship.” Siyeon gave her a warm smile, happy for her best friend. “Oh, I almost forgot. Yoohyeon let Jiyoon-ah near a bunny hybrid the other day…” She sighed.

“Oh?” Dong frowned. “Why is that bad again?”

“Because bunny hybrids are nothing but a bad influence on young ones. Hybrids and humans, they’ll teach them to be nothing but horrible in the world,” Siyeon muttered. “And she let Jiyoon-ah play chase. What kind of message does that send to a young pup?” She frowned.

“To be fair… She is a husky hybrid… So…” Dong whispered. “Full of energy,” She shrugged.

“It doesn’t matter.”

“Did you tell Yoohyeon?” Dong asked.

“I did… She got kind of upset since that was her friend.” Siyeon muttered. “I told her it was fine for her to be friends with bunnies… But… Not my daughter… I don’t want her to think that it’s okay to have that kind of lifestyle… And what if she goes back to her father and tells him that I let her around a bunny?” She continued.

Dong let out a sigh. Minji really was right about people’s disposition toward bunnies…

“Who says the bunny was bad?” The younger woman finally asked. “What if she was completely normal like us?”

“Well… You know… Bunnies are known for… Scandalous lifestyles,” She shrugged.

“So you’re assuming she’s horrible?”

“Well… Yeah.”

“Kind of shitty of you honestly,” Dong frowned.

“Why are you suddenly caring about bunnies?” Siyeon frowned.

“My girlfriend is a bunny. So I find it highly offensive that you’re here assuming all bunnies are nothing but horrible hybrids for kids to be around.” Dong crossed her arms over her chest, looking at her best friend.

“Not to ruin the feeling, but does she know you two are dating?” Siyeon asked.

Dong’s eyes widened at the remark, deciding to end everything right there. She was quick to flag down the waiter, pay her portion, and leave. It honestly hurt her to hear her best friend’s views about a specific hybrid species that wasn’t actually all that bad.

She sat in her car, letting out a groan from the entire experience. Her phone started going off, allowing her to answer through the car itself.

“Hey… Just the bunny I was thinking about,” She chuckled.

“I hope you don’t know many bunnies then,” Minji laughed.

“Just you,” Dong smiled. “What’s up?” She asked.

“Are you busy? I kind of need a ride somewhere…” The bunny spoke.

“Um… I just finished lunch, why where do you need to go?” She asked.

“Hospital. I’m fine, just… Kitty had her kitten last night and I really want to go visit her and the baby,” Minji explained. “And introduce you to my best friend.”

Dong could see the smile forming on Minji’s lips as she spoke. It honestly made her a little warm inside that the bunny was this trusting now.

“Yeah, I’ll swing by in a few,” Dong smiled.
