New Changes.
Lena sat with Nicole and waited for the others to arrive. She was hoping nothing bad happened when Waverly and Kara left to go and try to make sure they rescue Wynonna, but what had arrived to the hospital, was worse than she could want.
Kara was rushed in, she was crying that she can’t see. She was sobbing and saying that it was hurting. Lena rushed over to her side.
“Baby?” She asked. Through her heavy, heaving sobs, Kara managed to talk.
“L.. Lena?” Kara asked. Lena held her hand.
“I’m here baby. What happened?” Lena asked her as she followed Kara into a room. Kara was back in the hospital. She shared a room with her sister.
“I.. I can’t see. Lena. I can’t see your face. I can’t see my hands. I can’t see anything” Kara said in between sobs. Lena grabbed Kara’s hand and put it on her cheek.
“I’m here baby, I’m here” Lena said softly. “I am not going anywhere my love” she whispered. The doctors rushed in and examined Kara’s eyes. Alex and Kara’s mother was present now too.
“What happened to my daughter. Doctor? Why can’t she see?” Eliza asked as she held onto her daughter, who was hysterical. Lena had to leave, seeing her girlfriend so torn up was making Her so upset.
“Waverly” Lena asked, Waverly was cuddled up to Nicole while the doctors took a look at her sister. “What happened? Why can’t Kara see anything?” She asked. Waverly was sick to her stomach. She was visibly upset about Kara too.
“After we rescued Wynonna, we got stopped by cops! One of them, Marcus or whatever, he shot a gas pipe and it exploded. I don’t know what else to say to explain what happened but as soon as the explosion happened. Kara began to scream she can’t see” Waverly explained. Lena narrowed her eyes. Marcus?
“Officer Marcus Polio?” Lena asked, Waverly just nodded. She let out an angry groan.
“That son of a bitch! He arrests my brother when it was our mother and father who were purely evil, and then he blinds my girlfriend” Lena said with anger. “Waverly, I’m so grateful you were with her” Lena told her.
The doctor ran some tests and diagnostics on Kara, and it came to a revelation that Kara had gone blind. There was no temporary damage done, it was all permanent. There was a solution but it would take several months, maybe even a year, to fix. Eliza came out.
“Lena, sweetheart…” Eliza said. Lena rushed over.
“What’s wrong Mrs. Danvers?” Lena asked. Eliza held Lena’s hand.
“You’re the love of my daughter’s life” Eliza said. Giving Lena’s hand a soft squeeze, “please, call me Eliza” she told her.
“I will” Lena spoke softly. “What happened?” She asked.
“Kara’s blindness is permanent until they can find a solution” Eliza replied. “She’s really upset about it” Eliza said. Lena felt her heart break. Her poor Kara. She was definitely going to make Marcus pay.
“May I see her?” She asked. Eliza nodded.
“Of course sweetheart” She replied. Lena ran into the room. Kara memorized her heartbeat and right away, knew it was Lena.
“Lena?” Kara said. “I’m blind..” she said as she trembled in her voice. Lena came to her side and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
“It’s okay baby. I’m here. I’ll be here forever. ok?” She said. She took Kara’s hand and placed it on her chest so she could feel her heartbeat. “I’m not going anywhere” Lena said softly.
“I hate this..” Kara said pouting. Tears dripping.
“You’re still beautiful,” Lena said. “You are the most beautiful, angelic, kind hearted girl I have ever met. And I’m in love with you, Kara Zor El Danvers, and I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. I love you, Kara... Forever” Lena said, wiping away the tears on Kara’s face and placing a hand on her cheek. Kara leaned her face into the crest of Lena’s hand and took her hand and grabbed it.
“I’m in love with you too baby..” Kara said softly.
Lena’s green eyes watered a little bit. Kara could sense it.
“Don’t cry my love bug” Kara said. “I might not be able to see, but I know you’re still stunning” she said. “Can you send Waverly in?” Kara asked.
“Of course my love” Lena replied. She left the room, and another person entered the room. It was Waverly. Kara memorized her heartbeat too.
“Hey Waves” Kara said. Waverly felt her heart break when she was Kara had to exchange her glasses that showed her beautiful eyes for what was now, shades.
“Hey Kara” Waverly said, her voice cracked. Kara frowned.
“You’re crying” Kara said softly. Waverly let out a small laugh.
“Of course I’m crying” Waverly said softly, “I just witnessed one of the most important people in the world, to me lose one of their most important sense” She said. Kara smiled.
“I’ll be okay.” She said, she reached her left hand over, sensing for Waverly’s face. She touched it and used her thumb to wipe away the tears. “I have you, Lena, I have my family” Kara told her. She sensed Waverly smile.
“Good. I’ll let you rest” Waverly said, planting a kiss on Kara’s forehead and then leaving the room.
Kara laid back in her bed. She listened for Alex’s heartbeat, and fell asleep once she heard it.
