A Miracle Awaits
One month time jump
Kara was released from the hospital about a week after the incident, though she still needed to heal. She took some time off from school and arranged a way for her to go to class without attending, so she wouldn't miss anything super important. A month later, and she was allowed to go back, taking extra caution because her body wasn't completely healed. She was also exempt from gym. She and Lena grew closer over the course of the month, as well as Waverly and Nicole. At one point, Kara had to tell Lena and Nicole her secret, as well as the rest of her friends when an incident at school happened. So now all her friends now and they promised to keep it a secret. (separate chapter on that in the near future)
"Kara! you're back!" Winn said excitedly as she entered her morning class, which was home economics, with Waverly and Winn.
"ah, careful Winn. Don't hug her too tightly, she's still healing" Waverly said as she helped her friend sit down.
"Sorry" Winn said softly. Kara laughed.
"It's okay. " She said. The door opened and in walked Sara Lance. Everyone, except Laurel and Oliver, had a crush on Sara. Both girls, and guys. She just had that type of energy.
"Oh shit" Kara said, feeling her leg tightened as she fell out of her chair.
"Oh, Kara, what the hell" Waverly said, catching her best friend.
"Sorry, It's just, it's Sara Lance" Kara said with a soft, nervous undertone in her voice.
"Yeah, I know. I thought she was one of your friends?" Waverly asked.
"Well, kind of. She's more of a..friend by association. but everyone has a crush on her. Even I, think she's gorgeous" Kara explained as she stood up and sat back down. Waverly laughed.
"you've gotta point" Waverly replied as she sat next to Kara. Sara walked over to Kara.
"Kara, right?" she asked, Kara nodded, zoned out and in shock by the extremely gorgeous human who stood in front of her.
"The one who's got Luthor on lock down" Sara explained to her friend, Ray, as he scribbled the name down. Kara blushed while Waverly snickered, causing Kara to whack her arm.
"Um, What can I do for you, exactly?" Kara asked nervously.
"You and your posse are invited to my party" Sara explained. Kara blinked.
"my..my posse? the entire school hates me" Kara said, grumbling quietly.
"It might seem that way Danvers. I think you're pretty fucking cool. The people who hate you are idiots. They're the ones everyone actually fear, rather than respect" Sara explained, "You can invite your posse, if you like. I hope to see you there" She said as she snapped her fingers. Ray ripped out the piece of paper he was writing on. It had Sara's number,social media and address. They then walked away.
“Oh my God. Kara, do you realize what just happened?” Winn said as he shuffled his feet to her desk. “Sara Lance just invited us to one of her parties” he said with excitement.
“Yeah, but I don’t think I wanna go. You two can go, though” Kara told her friends.
“What do you mean you’re not going?! It’s Sara Lance, Kara” Winn and Waverly exclaimed at the same time. Causing Kara to feel ganged up on.
“Whoa, chill” Kara said with a laugh, “I dunno, I just don’t see why I have to go. Nobody at the party is going to like me” Kara explained.
“Kara, Sara only invites the A crowd. There’s not gonna be any B crowd. Unless they somehow crash the party” Winn explained. “Besides, You told me you want to stop suffering at the hands of these bullies, so don’t let them ruin your fun” he said softly. Kara smiled.
“Fine, fine. But let me talk to everyone else first. Okay?” She said. Winn nodded and went back to his seat.
At lunch time, Lunch 3, consisted of the friends Waverly made on her first day at RBHS, Kara & Lena. Since Selena & Grace got kicked out of school for physically harming Kara, things for her have become less difficult. Of course, there was still a good percentage of the B crowd out to get Kara.
“Attention students, Can Kara Danvers please report to the principal's office?” Said the speaker.
“Again?” Kara whined as she slammed her 4th hotdog on her tray. “I’ll be back” she told her friends. Kara walked out of the cafeteria and into the main office, to the principal's office. A woman with blonde hair & brown eyes sat in the chair.
“Hello?” Kara asked, confused.
“Ah yes, Miss. Danvers. Have a seat” She said to Kara. “My name is Foya Smith. I’m your new principal” she explained. Kara sat down, but still, she began to sense something off about this new principal. Her heart rate was rapidly beating, as if she was lying about who she is.
“Nice to meet you, Principal Smith” Kara said with caution.
“I’m sure you’re wondering why I called you here into my office, today?” Smith asked.
“Um, well the thought crossed my mind,” she replied.
“Yes, well I understand you’ve had some issues with a few of your fellow classmates,” Smith said. “Is that correct?” She asked. Kara nodded.
“Yes, but it’s not just a few. It’s almost the entire school” Kara replied.
“I see. Well, according to my records. You’ve gotten into 5 fights, 7 detentions and 8 incidents where you were nearly kicked out” Ms. Smith said.
“What? That’s a misunderstanding.” Kara said.
“Oh, but I never make a misunderstanding, Miss. Danvers.” Smith said. “You are Kara Francesca Danvers, correct?” She asked. Kara nodded, she didn’t actually have a middle name but Jeremiah suggested she make one up so nobody goes on a look for Zor- El.
“Ah there’s the glitch” Smith said to Kara as she corrected the file. “You’re right. Your slate is very clean, my apologies” she told Kara. “You’re free to go” Smith said. Kara got up and left the room. Smith took out her other phone.
‘It’s her’ she said in a language that wasn’t any kind of language spoken on Earth. ‘We shall pay back Zor El for all his wrong doing on Laxle’ she spoke as she put her phone away.
Kara walked back into the cafeteria, she got back to her table, when a loud buzzing noise came into the room.
“Ahh” Kara exclaimed, plugging her ears.
“Kara!” Lena said as she rushed to her side. “Are you alright?” She asked. Kara shook her head
“The sounds!” Winn said as he opened his book bag and pulled out a pair of ear plugs. “Here” he shouted as he threw it to Lena. Lena opened the pack and handed the earplugs to Kara.
“Put these on” She said. Kara put one into each of her ears. “Better?” Lena asked as she wiped away Kara’s tears.
“Yeah” Kara replied heavily,“There’s something off with that new principal” she whispered.
Alex and Wynonna were walking to their next class, when a tranq dart hit their arm. Causing both of them to fall to the ground and pass out. Two men with black suits pulled their legs and dragged them away.
Alex and Wynonna woke up from their slumber. They realized they were not at school, and their hands were tied to chairs. Their chairs were back to back.
“Earp. You alright?” Alex said in a whisper.
“Yeah, I’m fine, Danvers” Wynonna said. “You?” She asked.
“Yeah” Alex replied “are you scared?” She asked. Wynonna scoffed.
“I don’t get scared” She whispered, “but yeah, I am terrified” She confessed.
“Me too” Alex replied.
“You both should be terrified” a dark, deep voice boomed. “I know who both of you are” said a man as he walked out of the shadows. He wore a mask.
“Alexandra Danvers” He said as he traced his fingers on her face. She felt anger and fear start to fill her entire body. She growled at the man. “And Wynonna Earp” he said as he traced his finger on her face as well.
“I’ll fucking bite your finger off if you touch us again” Wynonna snapped. He let out a laugh as he punched the side of Wynonna’s face.
“Don’t touch her, you bastard” Alex said as her voice quivered a little bit. “Just let us go” she shouted.
“Ah ah ah. Watch your tone. Or two very special baby girls are losing a hand tonight” he said. This set off both older sisters.
“If you set a finger on our sisters, we will fuck you up to no end” Wynonna threatend.
“You girls are such idiots” he said as he tapped their mouth shut. “Call the other Danvers girl and Earp girl” he ordered one of his minions.
Kara and Waverly waited at the front of the school, no still sign of either Wynonna or Alex.
Kara’s phone began to ring.
“Alex?” She said as answered the phone. It was not Alex at all.
“Kara Danvers” Said a man.
“Who is this?” Kara asked. She waved her hand for Waverly to come over, pressing her ear on the other side of the phone.
“I have something you want,” he said, “actually I have someone, you want, two somebodies if you will," he said.
"Let them go! Let them go, you bastard!" Kara yelled. Her facetime option started to ring. She answered. On the screen was Wynonna and Alex tied up.
"Oh my God, Wynonna and Alex" Waverly said as her eyes grew big.
"Find us, and fight us," the man said as he hung up. Kara used her phone to track Alex's, and a red dot appeared at an old abandoned warehouse right outside of Riverbanks, on the corner of Central City.
"I found them" Kara said, she took Waverly's hand and took her to a corner behind the school, "Grab on" she told Waverly as she looked around to make sure nobody would see her.
"Oh my gosh, are we going flying? we haven't flown since we were fourteen, Kara are you sure-" Kara cut her off.
"Not right now Waves, just grab on" Kara told her.
"Right, sorry" Waverly said as she hugged onto Kara. Kara wrapped one arm around Waverly and used the best of her ability to fly.
"Kara, are you sure you're strong enough? Maybe we should call the police" Waverly said in a concerned voice as they hovered over some trees and began flying.
"I'm fine, just look for a roof that says 35AE" Kara told her. Waverly tilts her head down and searches for the roof marked with that number and set of letters. Waverly spots a building with the marking, she lets out a tiny gasp.
"There! I see it!" She said, pointing to the gray rooftop. Kara begins to descend down, once they land, Kara grabs her side.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Waverly asked, more worried, "your body isn't fully healed, sometimes it takes more than a month for a broken rib to heal" she explained. Kara places her hands on Waverly's shoulders.
"Waverly, calm down. Okay. Let's just go find our sisters and get the hell out of here" She tells her, Waverly nods, but worry still lingers in her head.They open the roof door and climb down the stairs. Kara uses her super hearing and can hear them in the lowest level. Kara grabs onto Waverly and the fly down, as Kara busts down the wall of the lowest floor, much like when she and Alex discovered Kenny's killer. Both kidnappers end up flying back onto the ground. Kara and Waverly run over to their sisters and untie them, removing the tape from their mouths.
One of the other men, take a taser and tases Waverly, who screams in pain. Kara uses her freeze breath to blow him away and uses her lazer eye to send away some of the other men. Somebody threw a punch on the weakest part of Kara's body, causing her to scream in pain. Alex ran over and punched him in the face while Wynonna used her chair she was tied to and hit someone else over the head. The girls looked around and saw everyone was knocked out.
"Are you okay?" Kara asked her sister.
"Yeah, let's get out of here" Alex replied. The Earps and The Danvers respectively held onto each other as they ran out of the building. When they got out, Kara felt her legs buckle and she collapsed to the ground.
"Oh shit!" Alex exclaimed as she gets down on to the ground. "Kara?" She said, she placed her ear near Kara's mouth. "She's barely breathing!" she said in a panic.
"I'll call 911" Wynonna says, taking out her phone and calling for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived and rushed all of the girls to the hospital.
The doctors and nurses rushed Kara down the hall on her gurney.
"We have a sixteen year old female, collapsed due to an injured rib" Said the same nurse who rushed Jason previously. "move or lose it people!" the nurse was Felicity Smoak.
They rushed Kara into a room and placed an I.V in her arm.
Jason, Roy, Alex, Lena, Wynonna, Eliza and Waverly stood in the waiting room. Anxiously waiting. Suddenly, they rushed Kara out, and she was seizing on the gurney. Soft gasps went all around and they rushed Kara into another room and tried to stop the seizing by placing a needle into her arm. Slowly, it stopped and the seizing stopped. Kara now wasn't breathing.
"She's not breathing, and her heart stopped" Alex heard one of the nurses say, she let out a loud sob as they watched from behind the glass. "Give me the paddles" she ordered. Someone handed her the paddles and they pressed it against her chest, but nothing was working. "nothing, we're going to do chest compressions" they placed a breathing mask onto Kara's face as they began doing compressions. They tried again and again, but nothing worked. They stopped and checked the clock, "time of death, 7:25pm" she told them. Everyone broke out into sobs.
"NO!" Eliza yelled out, "Not my baby" she sobbed as Alex clung onto her mother. She tried to hush her mom but nothing was working, mostly because Alex was sobbing loudly, too. Lena sobbed quietly, but her sobs began to grow louder as she felt her heart break into a thousand pieces. Wynonna was still. No tears were falling but Waverly could tell she was heartbroken, she hugged onto her sister as she felt tears trickle down her cheek. Jason kicked a chair and sobbed as Roy held onto his fiance and felt his own tears falling.
Winn and his friends, sat in his room, they received the text from Jason, "kara's gone" was all the text said. They all huddled together and cried, their friend, was gone.
"Doctor, something's happening" one of the nurses said, "her heart, it's beating again". Everyone stopped for a moment, they rushed over and saw her heart monitor begin to have a lines again. They all waited and prayed for a miracle, and suddenly,Kara's eyes opened and she gasped.
"A miracle" Said Nurse Smoak. They took Kara out of the room and back into one of their hospital rooms.
"My baby, can I see my baby?" Eliza asked.
"your daughter just came back from dying, Mrs. Danvers, give her a moment to comprehend that. and then you may see her again" The doctor told her.
So they did, they waited a little bit and then were told they're allowed to see her. Eliza and Alex were first to go in. Eliza clung onto Kara and stroked the back of her hair. She whispered to her that she loves her so much, and Kara told Eliza, she loved her too. Alex was next. She clung onto Kara like her life depended on it. She whispered over and over that she loves her and she's sorry that she was so rude to her when Kara first arrived. Kara calmed down the crying teenager by informing her that she's okay and they are together, and that nothing will tear them apart. Lena was next to see her.
"Kara" Lena said with wet tears dripping down her face, she ran over and hugged onto her as tight as she could.
"Lena, I-" Lena cut her off by pressing her lips against Kara's, Kara was kissing back, she released the kiss and stroked Kara's hair, "don't do that to me again, you idiot" Lena told her as they kissed once more.
Winn and his friends remained crying, when Maggie got a text from Jason, "she's alive, idk how but it's a miracle" The text read. They all let out sob filled cheers.
Lena left the room, and the Earps went in next. Waverly hugged her and kissed the top of her head, telling her she's not leaving Kara's side for a while. Wynonna just hugged her. She tried her best to not show that she had a soft side. Only Waverly knew that, and Alex did too, of course.
Lastly, Jason came in. The eighteen year old sobbed into Kara's arms as he repeated to her that he loves her and he'll never stop.
Kara's phone began to blow up with texts, some from numbers she didn't have saved. It was all from her friends and her friends, friends. Even Sara, was texting her. Telling her she's so happy Kara's alive and well.
And for the first time in three years, Kara felt loved. She just hoped it will last.
