Welcome to High School.

Summary
No one said High School was easy. Especially if you're a 16 year old alien from another planet. (inspired by Midvale high on fanfiction.net, with my own plot and story. go check it out!) Also, I switched up a bit of Kara and everyone else's back ground. Along with giving Alex (and Kara) an older brother. Because older brothers are fun to write and I bet fun to have! even if don't have one.Kara also isn't an only child to Alura and Zor El.Kara is also bullied by idiots at school. Lena was once the Queen Bee, but she isn't a bitchy queen bee.And when she sees her 'friends', bullying Danvers, she risks her own reputation to protect her. And become her friend. Maybe more. The highschool takes place in Riverbanks High School, Rival school to Norton Highschool. Central, Star and National City exist, but I just want to make up a place. This story is a mix of fluff, angst and more.

Sorting out feelings.

Kara woke up from her slumber, she didn't remember much, but what she knows right now is that her head is hurting, or throbbing is the more appropriate word. Waverly, was the one in the room with her. She noticed Kara was awake, so she got up and walked over to her.

"Oh, hey..hey" Waverly said soothingly, as she ran her hand through Kara's hair. Kara's first instinct was to grab her head.

"Oh Rao" Kara grumbled, "What the hell happened?" she asked.

"Those girls who came over to us in class, they hurt you pretty bad. but Alex look care of them." Waverly explained. Kara tried to sit up, but felt pain on her sides.

"Oh no no, don't get up. Kara. I'm real sorry, but they broke one of your ribs" Waverly explained.

Kara blinked a few times, tears slowly falling down her face.

"It hurts, really bad" She said, slightly breathing difficulty. Waverly sighed and wiped away her tears with her thumbs.

"I know, but you'll be okay. You just rest okay?" Waverly said quietly.

"Thanks, Waves" Kara said as she took Waverly's hand.

"Of course. Oh so, you were going to tell me something. You said there's someone you like?" Waverly asked, an eyebrow raised. This made Kara laugh.

"There's that laugh" Waverly said as she squeezed Kara's hand. "so, who is it?" she asked.

Kara let out a soft laugh.

"Fine" She caved in, "It's one of the girls outside" she told.

"What? Oh my gosh. which one is it?" Waverly asked, "there's only a few girls there. it's not my sister because she sees you as a sister, and vise versa. it's not Alex, cause that'd be weird" Waverly began listing off names, "is it me?" she asked, looking at her friend. Kara let out a laugh as Waverly hit her arm. "Hey! there's nothing wrong with liking me" She said, slightly offended. Making Kara laugh more.

"No, no, Waverly" Kara told her, shaking her head while laughing "I love you,you know this, more than anyone in the world, but not like that" Kara explained patting her hands, "It's Lena" she said quietly.

"Oh ma gad" Waverly said with over exaggeration. "She is gorgeous" she told Kara.

"Yeah, I know. We've gotten closer within a week" Kara told her best friend. The door opened, and in came Nicole Haught. She was Kara's lab partner, and friend.

"Oh Kara! are you okay? I was worried about you when I heard. My dad told me I wasn't allowed to see you. He's still really mad at me for kissing you at that party like two years ago" Nicole explained, "but I managed to get away," she said.

"It's fine, Nicky, this is my friend Waverly" Kara explained. Nicole turned her head to see Waverly and ended up feeling butterflies in her stomach all the same.

"Oh! hey, hi, nice to meet you" Nicole said as she nervously put her hand out.

"Nice to meet you too" Waverly said, equally nervous and shocked at the beautiful redhead before her.

"Don't worry about chemistry, Kara, okay? I'm sure you'll have that more with Lena" Nicole said, realizing what she said as Waverly stifled a laugh and Kara sent a glare, "You know what I mean, Danvers" She said with a smile.

"yeah, yeah, whatever" Kara said, rolling her eyes. Only a few people knew that Kara liked Lena. The door opened and Alex walked in.

"Hey baby face, oh hey little Earp, and Haught. what's up?" Alex asked.

"We were just teasing Kara about her crush on- ahh oww shit!" Waverly exclaimed when Kara squeezed her hand too hard. "never mind" she said softly.

"I'm intrigued now" Alex said, raising an eyebrow at Kara, who smiled awkwardly.

"Um, Alex, can you send Lena, in? and then I can talk to her alone" Kara said, glaring at her other friends.

"Ouch" Waverly and Nicole said at the same time. They all left to get Lena. A few seconds later, Lena walked in, and walked over to her.

"Hey there" Kara said groggily.

"Hey Kara, how are you feeling?" Lena asked as she took Kara's hand in hers.

"I could be better." Kara replied, there was a silence, and then she spoke again, "What if they come after me?" she asked her friend. Lena stared for a moment, then gave Kara's hand a light squeeze.

"Do you think any of us would allow that?" Lena asked, Kara shook her head.

"No, of course not. It's just. The only 10th graders who I have classes with are Waverly, Sara and Winn. You're in my advanced history class, and I've got English with my sister, but that's it. And we have Lunch 3 together" she told Lena, "what if they get to me?" she asked, worried.

"You have nothing to worry about. okay. I promise. Your other friends seem persistent to protect you, and you know Laurel and Ollie wouldn't let a fly hurt you" Lena said, reassuringly.

Kara gave Lena a weak smile. Lena's feelings were growing stronger and stronger, every time she heard Kara laugh or see her smile.

"Thanks" Kara said sleepily. Lena laughed as she let go of Kara's hand and ran her hand through Kara's blonde locks.

"You're tired now. Just rest darling. I'll be here when you wake up" Lena said as she planted a kiss on Kara's forehead, watching her friend fall asleep. She opened her bag, and began reading a book published by Clark Kent.

She knew she had to grow closer to Kara before making any moves, so she just had to wait. But she knew, deep down, she fell in love with the shy, quiet, girl who laid on the hospital bed, in front of her.
