Road to recovery.
While Alex and Lena waited at the hospital, Wynonna and Waverly figured it'd be best to go back to school, at least that way, they won't miss too much on their first day as new students and they can pick up Alex and Kara's stuff. They even offered to Lena pick up Lena's items, but she declined, she was grateful but she had to return later in the day for a meeting. Lena is the junior year student body president. The next few hours of class were dreadful. Waverly had to hear people talk down upon her best friend. It only took a matter of a few seconds into her lunch period that she finally snapped.
"Excuse me, do you mind? I'm trying to enjoy my lunch and not worry about my best friend who's currently in the hospital" Waverly snapped at a few kids nearby. A boy with brown hair smiled and leaned over to her.
"Hey, you're really brave. No one is brave enough to shut Riley down. Let alone stick up for Danvers, I have a couple of times, but I got shoved into a locker for it. " Said the boy. "I'm Winn, by the way. That over there is Jimmy, next to Jimmy is Lucy and Lois, they're sisters, next to Lois and Lucy is Maggie" Winn explained. It took Waverly a moment to process everything. Maggie noticed Winn chatting up with Waverly.
"Winn, are you bugging the poor girl. She's new and probably worried about Little Danvers" Maggie asked.
"It's okay. He's very much a talker" Waverly said with a laugh. "I'm Waverly, by the way, Waverly Earp"
"Maggie Sawyer. Earp.. you related to Willa?" Maggie asked, Waverly nodded.
"Cool, and you're good friends with the Danvers?" Maggie asked again.
"Yup, Kara and I are best friends. I met her when the Danvers… moved into the house near mine" Waverly explained, catching herself before she exposed Kara's secret.
"Well, We're actually apart of Kara's 'circle', we just hang out after school, but you're more than welcome, in Waverly. Speaking of which, is she, Kara, okay?" Maggie asked.
"Thanks Maggie, and She's going to be fine. but I was wondering if you could help me with something" Waverly asked.
"Sure, anything. What's up?" Maggie asked,
"In Purgatory, I used to be apart of the "IT" crowd. It ruined me, I wasn't my true self. Who's the 'IT' crowd of here?" she asked.
"Oh that's easy. Here we have the A 'IT 'crowd' and the B 'IT' crowd. The A "IT" crowd are the ones who won't eat you alive if you accidentally hit into them. That's Laurel Lance, and her cheerleading Squad, and Oliver Queen and his football team. Along with Laurel's sister, who is the schools treasurer. The B "IT" crowd is the crowd who'll eat you alive if you breathe within 3 feet of them, steer clear. They are Riley Phel, Kendall Green, Nick Atlis and Champ Hardy, Champ's real name is James (hey update, I didn't actually know Champ's name, but I got it now), but he gets mad when you call him that" Maggie stifled a laugh, ". Along with Gillian Sconly, Grace Parker, Selena Jeaning and Trinity Maxwell. We used to have the Lord twins and their friends, but Brandon attacked Alex and Kara" Maggie saw Waverly's face begin to grow with worry, "they're fine, don't worry, and he's in jail. Also Maxwell Lord's friend stabbed Jason Danvers, so they're also in jail" Maggie explained.
"Okay, so steer more towards the cheer girls is what I'm getting at?" Waverly asked.
"Yes, they love Kara, actually, Kara doesn't know all of the, but they look out for her. Them and the football team also look out for her. Laurel is Jason Danvers best friend. Jason is dating basketball captain Roy Harper. I hear they're engaged, actually, oh the basketball team is pretty trustworthy too. and if you're ever interested, I am the captain for the girls soccer team" Maggie explained.
"Not really my thing, but my sister loved soccer in Purgatory" Waverly said, taking a bite of her sandwich, "I'll talk to her about it"
"Oh yeah, one more thing. I'd advise you not to go near Tucker Gardner. He's not an A or B crowd, but he's really creepy. He takes photos of underneath girls skirts" Maggie explained, "he has a thing for hot girls and you'd definitely qualify" Maggie tells her. Waverly laughed.
"Thanks, and I will" she replied.
After school, Waverly and Wynonna went back to the hospital.
"So Wynn, Maggie Sawyer said there's a spot open for her soccer team. You and Alex are both huge sport heads. why not try out?" Waverly said as Wynonna signaled left.
"I'll think about it,thanks baby girl" Wynonna said with a smile. Wynonna's phone went off, Waverly grabbed it.
"it's from Alex" she said as she opened her sister's phone. She let out a soft chuckle.
"What is it?" Wynonna asked.
"Alex wants to know if we have any choco nut bars" Waverly said, laughing lightly. Wynonna rolled her eyes.
"Oh that girl and her choco nut bar obsession! I swear, Waves, she's going to end up hating them or something" Wynonna joked. They pulled up into the parking lot of the hospital, and went into the waiting room to see Jay and Roy.
"Hey Jay!" Waverly and Wynonna said in sync as they hugged Jason in a bone crushing hug.
"Hey! my Earp girls! oo watch out, stab wound" Jason explained. Waverly gasped as she jumped back.
"oh, right, I am so sorry" She apologized. Jason introduced the two of them to Roy. The doctors came out.
"Mrs. Danvers?" He said, "I'm afraid it's worse than we thought. It turns out, they broke one of Kara's ribs" He explained.
"WHAT?!" Jason exclaimed.
"How is that possible? you said it was just a bruise" Lena asked.
"We missed something while doing the first scan, but luckily we caught it before anything else happened," the doctor explained.
"Oh God" Eliza whispered. "Is she awake?" she asked.
"We had to give her some medicine to reduce the pain, so she's a bit loopy" he explained. This doctor was specialized to take care of Supers, but only the Earps and Danvers knew that. "so anyone who doesn't know her secret should wait until it passes through," he said in a low voice, eyes towards Lena.
Everyone took turns to visit Kara, they felt bad lying to Lena, but her powers were manifesting slowly and they couldn't risk exposing her.
It was going to be a long recovery, but they were all there to support Kara, and they always will be.
