And now we wait.
The first bell rang, so Kara, Alex, Waverly and Wynonna gathered their belongings and went inside the school. A few guys of the guys by the front took a sudden liking in Waverly, she was a new girl, who knew none of their reputations. It was like a breath of fresh air.
“So, Danvers, anything new happen while I was away?” Waverly asked her best friend as they settled into the first class they conveniently had together.
Kara pursed her lips and lightly tapped her pencil on her desk, to think for a moment.
“Not that I can think of” Kara replied.
“Nothing interesting? Man. I was hoping for some gossip or something. Like you having a new crush or whatever” Waverly teased. Kara felt herself blush a little.
Yes, her name’s Lena
“Ah well..” she began.
Waverly gasped.
“Oh my gosh! There is somebody! Who is it?” Waverly asked.
“After class” Kara replied with a laugh. Waverly was about to speak when Grace and Selena walked up to them again. Waverly noticed Kara tense up & tuck her head down.
“Danvers” Grace said as she got to Kara’s seat and slammed her fist onto her desk. “Mind if we have a word outside?” She asked with her teeth clenched. Clearly, she was very, very,angry about something.
“Not right now Grace.. Kara said quietly, “class is about to start”
Grace looked over at Waverly.
“New girl. She bothering you?” She asked. Kara could see Waverly immediately grew annoyed with Grace, shaking her head.
“No, Kara’s my friend actually. Has been for about three years now” Waverly told her, causing Grace and Selena to scoff.
“We need to have a word with you, Danvers,right now.” Grace repeated. Kara looked at Waverly. Who gave her an assuring smile.
“No” Kara said. Grace growled.
“What did you say to her?” Selena asked with an angry look.
“I said, no, Selena. I’m not letting you two boss me around anymore” Kara told her. This pissed both girls off.
“Grab her” Grace said. Because Kara was only 16, her super strength wasn’t fully in use. Selena walked over and grabbed Kara, who was unable to resist.
“Let her go!” Waverly demanded. Grace kicked Waverly’s chair, making Waverly fall back. The clock still had about 5 more minutes before the teacher had to be in the class.
“Leave me alone Grace!” Kara screamed as she tried to get out of Grace’s grip. But Grace had used all her might to drag the young Kryptonian out of the classroom. When they got into the hallway, Grace slammed Kara against the locker.
“Why can’t you just leave me alone?!” Kara yelled. Grace growled and shoved Kara harder.
“Listen here, and listen now. You don’t belong here. Ever since you came into this school, you’ve done nothing but make everyone dislike you. You’re just a piece of shit. So how about you just leave” Grace said. Tears started to fall down Kara’s face.
“Awww, poor baby. Pathetic” Grace said. “Don’t move, or you’re dead” she said between her teeth.
“Get her Selena” Grace ordered. Kara tried to move and Grace held her down, Selena swung a punch, hitting Kara in the face. Kara let out a scream of pain. Grace slammed her onto the ground and kicked her in the face. “Maybe this will teach you a lesson. You don’t belong here” She threw one last kick to Kara’s head, which knocked her out,then took her glasses off and stomped on them. Then the two of them ran off.
Waverly woke up and felt her head throbbing. Her eyes wandered and she realized she was in class. Her eyes averted to the clock , class was starting in 3 minutes.
“Oh, Kara!” Waverly said with a soft gasp. She got up and ran out the door, and saw Kara lying on the ground, bloodied up. “Kara!” She cried as she ran to Kara’s side. “Shit, what did they do to you,” she whispered as she texted Alex and her sister..
Alex was sitting in her class with Lena when her phone buzzed. One minute before class was going to officially start. She opened her text and her eyes went wide.
“Oh crap” Alex whispered. Lena noticed her friend’s expression change.
“Everything okay?” Lena asked. Alex shook her head and showed Lena the text. Lena’s eyes widened.
“Um, Mr. Carter” Alex said, raising her hand. “I got a text regarding my sister. May Miss. Luthor and I go attend to the matter? Lena’s our friend” she told her teacher.
“Very well Miss. Danvers, take a pass” Mr. Carter told her and Lena.
“Thank you” Alex said as she and Lena got up, and left the classroom. They ran to the hall- way where Kara and Waverly were at. Waverly looked up, and saw the two of them heading her way.
“Oh Alex!” Waverly said. “I don’t know what they did to her, but she’s out cold”
Alex kneeled down to Kara’s level.
“Who did this?” Lena asked. Waverly knew of Lena and Lena knew of Waverly because Kara talked to both of them about each other.
“Some girls named Grace and Selena” Waverly replied. Alex shut her eyes & let out a soft groan.
“Those bitches.., they finally did it.” Alex said. She turned her head to Lena. “You said that it was the two of them who broke Kara’s necklace, yes?” She asked. Lena nodded. Wynonna ran over and saw Kara on the ground.
“Kara! Oh my gosh. Are you two okay?” She asked Waverly.
“I’m fine. They pushed me down and I hit my head a little bit-“ Wynonna cut her off.
“You hit her head?! Are you alright?” Wyonna asked.
“Yes yeah, I’m fine. I’m more worried about Kara” Waverly told her sister. Alex stood up and let out a soft angry growl.
“Wynonna, can you carry Kara to the nurse and have her checked out? I need to do something” Alex said, angry.
“Yes, I can. But don’t do anything that will get you into any trouble Al. I just got back and I don’t want to do my junior year without my best friend. Okay?” Wynonna asked, bending down to pick Kara up, slightly ignoring Waverly’s instruction of “watch the head”.
“Oh I promise, I won’t. Trust me” she told her friend. “Lena, Waverly, go with Wynn. Make sure you’re there when she wakes up. I need to go handle Grace and Selena” Alex said.
“How?” Lena asked. Alex pointed at the hallway camera.
“Ms. Grant had those installed over the weekend. I’m going to ask security to play it and get those two assholes where they belong” Alex said as she walked over and kissed Kara on the head.
“Take care of my sister,” she said to Lena.
“Always” Lena replied. Alex nodded at Lena with gratitude as she walked towards the main office and the other three girls headed to the nurses station.
Alex opened the door and went to the desk.
“Excuse me, I need to see Ms. Grant. She told my sister and I if we need anything, to see her” Alex said.
“Of course, Miss. Danvers. Go on in” She told Alex.
“Thanks” Alex said. She knocked on Ms.Grant’s door and was told to come in.
“Ah, Ms. Danvers . What can I do for you?” Ms. Grant asked.
“Can you get a security officer in here?” Alex asked. Ms. Grant nodded and ask they send in the school favorite, Brad. A few seconds later, Brad, or officer Jones, entered the office.
“What can I do for you today, Ms. Grant, and Miss. Danvers?” Brad asked.
“Ms. Grant. Can you please pull up the camera footage in hallway 3 of about 5 minutes before our first class?” Alex asked. Cat pulled up the footage and clicked at the time frame of “3:02”
On the footage, it showed Grace Parker and Selena Jeaning shoving Kara against a locker, punching and kicking her. Alex felt her heart break and her eyes begin to tear up.
“And then pull up the first day of school, the 3rd round of Lunch, please” Alex asked. Cat did as told and the camera in the lunch room showed Grace and Selena breaking Kara’s necklace and pouring milk on her.
“all the proof you need” Alex told them.
“Oh my” Cat said with a quiet gasp.
“What do we do Ms. Grant?” Brad asked as he put a comforting arm around Alex.
“Bring them in Jones, and call Miss. Parker’s mother. She’s strict on Grace” Cat ordered. Brad nodded and went to bring Grace and Selena into Cat’s office. Cat turned her head to Alex.
“You’re excused from a few of your class, Miss. Danvers. Your friends as well. Here’s a pass for all of you and your sister. I promise you, Miss. Parker and Miss. Jeaning will not get away with this” Cat said, handing Alex a pass.
“Thank you, Ms. Grant. You should be prinicpal” Alex told her, as she took the “ excused from class” pass from her hand, making Cat laugh.
“I agree. Take care of your sister” Cat told her.
“I always have” Alex replied as she left the office.
She rushed into the nurse's office , where the nurse took her to the backroom.
“Is she okay?” Alex asked.
“She’ll be fine. No injuries to her cranium or any other organs. She was bruised in the stomach a little. So we had to call your mother” the nurse explained. Alex thanked her. A few seconds later, Eliza came in.
“Oh, Alex” She said as she hugged her older daughter. “Are you okay?” She asked.
“Yeah, but I think we should get Kara checked out at the hospital. From Ms. Grant’s video, it looked like it wasn’t good” Alex explained. Her mom called 911 and the ambulance came. Eliza took Wynonna, Waverly and Lena to the hospital while Alex road with Kara in the ambulance.
When they got to the hospital, the doctors did a head scan on Kara’s skull. It was correct that she had no head injuries. They also did an exam on Waverly, because Wynonna insisted. Waverly was fine. Kara had some injuries to her stomach. So she had to be kept overnight. Mama Earp drove to the hospital and greeted Eliza, saying she’s sorry they had to reunite in a setting like that.
Alex grabbed some coffee from the coffee machine and handed her friends each one.
And now we wait.
