Familiar Friends Reunited
Waverly and Wynonna Earp pulled up into the student lot of Riverbanks highschool. Waverly, was in her 2nd year (10th grade), while Wynonna was in her 3rd year (11th grade). They had just moved from Purgatory to Riverbanks.
"You okay baby girl?" Wynonna asked her sister when she noticed Waverly being tense.
"I'm fine, I'm just nervous" Waverly replied. Wynonna clicked her tongue. She knew why her sister was nervous. Their family wasn't a stranger to Riverbanks. In fact, their older sister and brother, Willa and Whitlock Earp, were state champs of Riverbanks High, back in 2012. Their family moved because their father, Ward, had some new job assignment in Purgatory, and when their parents divorced. Their mother took her youngest daughters back to Riverbanks. They had some old friends in Riverbanks. Xavier Dolls is one of them. Grade 12. Dolls and Danvers. They met the Danvers at the start of Kara's adoption and the youngest of the families grew close in an instant, but the Earps moved away a year after Kara arrived to Earth.
"You don't have to worry about meeting Willa or Whitlock's legacy. Okay? People are going to love Waverly Earp for who she is" Wynonna told her. Waverly gave her a soft smile and nodded.
"Good, let's go" Wynonna said with a smile. Waverly opened the passenger door and of course she accidentally hit Alex Danvers in the head.
"Ah shit!" Alex yelped, Waverly gasped and came out of the car to close it.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, I swear I didn't mean that. Are you okay? Did I hurt you-" Alex cut off the rambling girl. She reminded Alex of her own sister. That's when Alex realized it was Waverly. Her sister's old playmate from down the street. The Earps and The Danvers never lost touch either.
"It's okay, it's fine" Alex said with a laugh, "it happens". Wynonna ran around and instantly recognized Alex.
"Danvers?" She said. Alex looked up.
"It is you! Holy shit, I thought I recognized your sister! Wynonna!" Alex said with joy. She ran over and hugged her.
"Alex, oh shit, I really am sorry now" Waverly said with a soft laugh as she hugged Alex.
"What are you doing here Earp?" Alex asked, "Not that I'm not super stoked"
"Our parents divorced and we moved back to Riverbanks with our mom. We're attending RBHS now" Wynonna explained.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear about the divorce, but it's great you're back! Waverly, Kara's going to be so happy to see you" Alex said. Right on cue, she heard the loud squeals of her 16 year old sister.
"Waverly! is that really you!" Kara asked as pulled Waverly into a bone crushing bear hug. The Earps were one of the only few people who knew Kara's secret.
"Ahhh, careful Kara" Waverly said as she winced in pain, Kara loosened her grip. "Yes, It's really me!" Waverly said with excitement as the two of them hugged.
"Well shit! this is great! The Earps and The Danvers can take over the school again. Just like Jason and Whitlock did before" Alex said as her friends and sister nodded.
"So, What's new? What have I missed Danvers?" Wynonna asked.
"Ah well, if you guys can do me a favor, since you're here. Ignore the rumors about Kara" Alex asked, "I know you would never believe them, but please?" She begged.
"Rumors? What rumors?" Waverly asked with slight concern, facing her best friend. Kara sighed.
"People still treat me differently" Kara explained, "except now it's worse"
"Worse? Worse how?" Wynonna asked. Kara's eyes began to water.
“Oh you know” Kara said with a hint of pain and sarcasm, tears falling down her face. “The typical “you’re a freak ``''you’re a loser ``. and breaking the last thing I have of my mothers..” Kara said with a sad sigh.
“Oh Kara” Waverly said softly as she wiped away Kara’s tears. “It’s okay. I’m sorry you went through that. And I’m sorry I wasn’t here to support you. But hey. I’m back now and I won’t let anyone do that to you. Okay?” Waverly said. Kara nodded and Waverly pulled her in for a hug. Wynonna & Alex stood back with a smile on their face as they watched their sisters hug.
“I missed you Earp” Alex said as she offered her arm for Wynonna to link, earning a smile from Wynonna.
“I missed you too Danvers” Wynonna said as she linked hers with Alex.
