You’re not alone
After Rockwell was visited by the head of the school board, a school assembly was put into place with the director. Students piled into the gymnasium and waited for Professor Donavin to speak.
"Good morning students. I'm sure you all know why you're called in here today. Your principal, Cornelius Rockwell, was caught verbally abusing a student and abusing his power as principal" he spoke. The girls around Kara and Alex's area shot glare at her. One of the girls bent down to whisper in her ear.
"I'm going to fucking beat the shit out of you later, freak" she whispered, "you're going to wish you were never born". Alex sent her a glare, she heard it because she's not an idiot.
"The behavior of Mr. Rockwell is inappropriate and out of line. If any student has an issue with this punishment, you can see me in my office after" Donavin spoke.
"Yeah we do! cause Danvers is a freak!" said one boy.
"We don't like freaks in our school!" another one shouted.
One girl started to chant 'Danvers is a freak' and the rest of the school started chanting too. Well, almost. Oliver and his football team were sitting on the side, whispering threats into the kids ears around them. The boys around Jason Danvers didn't dare chat, they agreed she was a freak, but Jason was the school's debate team captain AND Student body president, plus his looks could kill. Lena felt like punching the shit out of everyone around her joining the chant, and Alex was whispering to the other kids to shut the fuck up. A few girls from the science team were also not joining, and the entire cheerleading squad with their head captain Laurel Lance knew better than to bully other kids. But Kara didn't know she had people in her corner.
Kara felt tears clog her throat. She was no one important to any of these kids.
"Enough!" Donavin yelled, "if you children continue to mock one of your own fellow classmates, I will expel all of you" he shouted. A few girls just laughed.
"Freak" one girl named Hannah whispered into Kara's ear. Kara couldn't handle it.
"Stop it! Stop it! Just leave me the hell alone!" she sobbed, she got up from her seat and ran out as the gym roared with laughter.
"You're all dead" Alex threatened as she ran after her sister.
Kara ran into the bathroom and threw her bag onto the ground. She started to mumble something in Kryptonese. She didn't care if it would cause her to get weird looks. It translated into 'I should've died'. A girl came out of the bathroom stall. She had brown hair and grey eyes.
'You're not worthless, Kara' she said in Kryptonese. Kara gasped and took a step back.
"How..How do you know that?" She asked.
"My name My- Sal Vela. I'm from Krypton.. my earth name is Maya Crowning" the girl spoke.
"Kryp..Krypton? that's impossible. myself and Kal El are the last. or we thought were" Kara said.
'You are not alone' Maya spoke again in Kryptonese. Kara felt tears begin to fall down her face as Alex rushed in.
"Are you okay? who are you? did you hurt my sister cause I swear to Go-" Kara cut her off.
"No, no. it's fine Alex.. ca.. can you just take me home?" Kara asked. Alex nodded, sending a glare to Maya before they left.
