Steve
Steve looked at Bucky, all those lean muscles pulled taut, metal arm hurting him without a doubt. He was still out of it, Steve could see it by the way Bucky's head had lolled forward.
They were captured, of course... Well, to be honest they had gotten Bucky chained up and Steve let himself be captured to stay with him. They'd find a way out together, Steve was sure of it.
"Wakey wakey sergeant." Steve saw Schmidt before the bright light flickered on and made Bucky wake up and groan in pain.
"We have a surprise for you. Look to your right." Schmidt said it with some kind of devilish amusement, and Steve saw the horror in Bucky's eyes when he recognised him.
"We got winter a little friend."
"How... Stevie..."
"Couldn't leave you alone again. I'll be okay." Steve whispered.
"Your precious captain will be our second winter soldier. " Schmidt droned on in the background."perhaps we'll even start a breeding program. Wouldn't that be nice? You two could still become fathers ! Although you probably won't ever recognise your own children."
"No." Bucky chocked out."let Stevie go."
Schmidt got a big grin as he walked up to Bucky.
"My oh my, winter. Are we getting emotional?" He grabbed Bucky's chin, and Steve wanted to growl when Shmidt wiped a tear from Bucky's eye.
"You love him." Shmidt whispered, surprised but obviously delighted with the turn of events."how very interesting..."
Bucky turned his gaze away.
"Ah, you haven't told him yet. Did you? How very, very interesting... Does he feel the same, I wonder." Shmidt looked at Steve.
"Bucky. Bucky look at me." Steve pleaded. Bucky looked up, his body shaking and tears in his eyes.
"It's okay." Steve said. "it's okay Buck."
"No it isn't. It really isn't an' you probably hate me right now." Bucky's voice broke. "so let him go, Shmidt. I'll be your puppet, but don't hurt him."
Shmidt released Bucky and curled an arm around his shoulders.
"Sometimes it's better to forget. Isn't it?"
He led a defeated Bucky out of the room, while Steve was still in shock as he watched the door fall close behind Bucky's slumped shoulders.
