Chapter 3

Weems told Wednesday the exact spot where they had found the trace of Enid. She drove the raven herself to the spot. It was off the road a bit. Wednesday rushed out of the car and began inspecting it herself. She didn't really see much of a sign that she was there at all. She started exploring the area a little bit more. As she was walking, she noticed a little bit of ruffled leaves and loose dirt. It almost looked like someone had fallen. She reached down and touched the area. Her neck snapped back and she fell backwards

She found herself laying in the same place where she had touched. "PLEASE" She heard scream. She turned her head to see Enid running out of the fog from her mother. She watched as Esther pounced on her then cracked her leg backwards with her bare hands. Wednesday panicked and tried her best to move but it was no use. She couldn't move, talk, or even close her eyes. She was forced to see what was happening in front of her. She watched as her mother grabbed her by her hair and began dragging her back to the fog. You could see the horror and fear on her face as tried to run. it was no use. Esther was much bigger and stronger than the girl, it just resulted in a fist full of hair being ripped from her head. And then Wednesday saw something that made her sick. She saw Enid give up. She stopped moving and let her body relax and her mother dragged her into the white clouds.

When Wednesday's vision was over, she opened her eyes to see Weems standing over her. "What happened??" Weems said. Wednesday did not reply. Her eyes filled with tears and she was sobbing again. Was she too late? Did that bitch already get to the girl? Weems just held Wednesday in her arms and she allowed herself to feel everything. Normally, physical touch from anyone other than the wolf would be grounds for murder, but just this once she allowed it. She was actually rather glad Weems was there. She curled up into her arms and cried hard. "Esther got her" Wednesday screamed through her tears. She started hyperventilating, she felt like there were a million blankets surrounding her. "Breath, honey.. we are going to find her. I promise I wont rest until we know Enid is safe and sound." She swallowed hard. "What if she isn't safe. In my vision I saw Esther hurting her really bad. Weems I cant breath." "I know honey. Don't think about it at this very moment. Deep breath in.. hold for 1 2 3... and let it out." Wednesday complied. She could feel herself coming back. She needed to stop freaking out. That won't help anything. After another minute or so of breathing exercises, she was ready to tell the white haired woman what she had seen.

She sat up straight and wiped the tears from her cheeks. "I apologize for the display of unwanted emotion." She told her everything she saw in the vision. "I need you to excuse me from classes for the next two weeks at the very least. If you want my help, We are going to do it my way." Weems didn't really want to know what 'her way' was but she agreed anyway. Wednesday was her only hope at finding the girl, and with the visions, they have the upper hand. Wednesday pulled out the phone Xavier got her, just after the Crackstone incident, and began face timing someone. She never really used the phone much. It was more Enid's than anything. She was always on the phone, taking pictures or playing some kind of game. The phone was answered after just two rings. "My little scorpion? Is that you? Why are you not calling from the crystal ball, my daughter" Her mothers voice was as smooth and beautiful as ever. "This was urgent. Where is father. I need to speak to him right now." "I'm here, little devil. How can I assist you." Wednesday was almost hesitant to tell her parents everything that had been going on. After she had told them everything, one of her mothers eyes filled with a tear. Her father, on the other hand, looked horribly angry. He was the only one who knew of Wednesdays feelings towards the blonde. He already considered her family, and anyone who provoked the Addams typically weren't around  to talk about it. Thanks to her families immense amount of power and money, they told her that they would be paying multiple bounty hunters in the San Francisco areas to find and 'take care of' the Sinclairs. Any money that her and Weems would need would be funded to them completely. She thanked them and hung up the phone.

"Now that I've taken care of that, let me tell you what we are going to do. You are going to have someone you trust watch over the school for the next two weeks. Then you are going to go down to the police and tell sheriff Galvin everything. Since we have a past with Galvin, he owes us a favor. Which is why he is going to let us go down to San Francisco and do some investigating of our own. He is going to call the San Francisco police department and have them search the Sinclairs residence while we are heading down. From there, we will join forces with the police department as my parents have connections to the police workforce in California. And I am going to find Enid. I will not step foot back at Nevermore until she is safe in my arms. Do you understand?" She opened her mouth to say something but Wednesday cut her off. "If you try and decline, I can assure you my parents will have Nevermore shut down in less than a month. You do not have a choice here Weems." She couldn't really say no. Nevermore was the most important thing in life to the principle. So she decided it was best just to go along with what the young girl said. It did make sense and sound like a good plan. And also, Weems wanted to see for herself exactly what happened. Enid was always sweet to everyone, she deserved the entire school out there looking for her. All the late night calls her friends would make about boys, or comforting people for any and everything, or even being extra nice to the new kids who felt like they really didn't have a friend. Enid was a wonderful friend to everyone. She deserved the world. Wednesday would make sure that once she was found, she would never let any harm come to her again.

Wednesday ran back to her room to pack a few things while Weems called her out and informed Galvin of Wednesday's plan. She grabbed her black duffle bag and started throwing things in. Two shirts, Two pairs of pants, 3 knifes, and Enid's pastel pink sweat shirt. Then she got changed into something other than her uniform. She threw on some baggy dark blue jeans that had pockets running all down the legs and a black vintage crewneck that had white lines running across it horizontally. She grabbed her black high top converse and was ready to go. As she grabbed the shoes, she noticed the spiderweb drawing on the toe. Enid drew it on there when they were both laying on her black bed. "Here you go, since you're just so creepy and weird." Enid said as she presented the drawing on her foot. "I prefer spooky." Wednesday said looking at her feet. She would make sure they would be able to make memories like that again. Before slipping out of the dorm, she glanced back one more time. She wishes she wasn't in this situation at all. That everything was how it was supposed to be.

When she stepped outside, she saw Weems waiting for her in her vintage 1970's car. She threw her things in the trunk and climbed in the passenger seat. "Everything worked out" She said looking over to the older woman. "It is, but I need to know.. how are we going to react once we actually find her. I'm sure the Sinclairs wont give her up easily." Weems looked at her through her overly large sun glasses. "Leave it to me." Wednesday said confidently. She pulled out her phone and began scrolling through her camera roll. She knew Enid took lots of photos with this thing but Wednesday always forgets to look at them. She sees a selfie of her and thing doing manicures, a selfie of her and Wednesday getting ready for pilgrim world, a photo of Wednesday with her iconic deadpan face while she was wearing the cat costume Enid forced her to wear for their competition. Her breath halters when she slides to the next photo. Its a selfie of Enid wearing the white tank top with small flowers that Wednesday had just been wearing the previous night. She looked so stunning in it. She wonders if when- if. if they became more than friends that they would steal each others clothes often. If the room would eventually mix aesthetics instead of being a straight line down the middle. If they would push their beds together as they slept. She studied the girls photo for almost 10 minutes. She analyzed the way her hair looked, how her deep blue eyes were all scrunched from smiling too hard, how her chubby cheeks had a hint of red in them, how her white teeth poked through her soft lips. I'll get you back, I swear to you, she thought.
