Part 10
n/a: Pixie is interrogated offscreen and Kitty is not KATE aka Heartless.
The main office of Red Guard is an onion, in a sense. Each floor contains its own unique story, staff, and equipment to better achieve their goals, interrogation, Kitty finds out, is one of the third layers of this onion.
The mutant is not a Red Guard, per se, but any help is welcome-if Kitty tries to break the good faith, well, Rogue has no qualms in killing traitors as Mystique points out.
Kitty is a guest here and therefore, has no voice or right to be in the interrogation room. None whatsoever, however, the woman still worries and thinks all the implications it comes through such interrogation with such Red guards.
"Why is taking so long?" Kitty asked tapping her feet on the ground, the flooring and her shoes provide a strong tap, strong enough that Kurt stops his chores to see what she is doing.
(Kurt´s chores are a secret, in a sense. She knows he is doing something, what it entails? She has no idea and Mystique wants to be like that)
"Hey, rehearsing for your big debut?" Kurt jokes and his tail points to her tapping. Kitty rolls her eyes and stops doing the sound. "I think you would have been a great dancer," Kurt begins sitting next to her, his paperwork is done or vanished and whatever he was doing, well, Kitty will never know.
"I can´t be a dancer, Kurt, I would have been too anti-social," Kitty speaks in a petulant tone as if noticing her own foul mood she adds. "Sorry, I´m worried...I never like interrogations," she confessed.
Kurt arch one eyebrow. "But is not you who is being interrogated," and is a good point, as mentioned before, Kitty is just a guest here and nothing more.
Yet, the woman is jumpy as she stares at the door of the interrogation section. Kurt can´t understand why.
Kitty sighs and lowers her head for a minute and tries again. "You, the whole Red Guard, are interrogating a minor and I don´t like the implication on how everything is worth if it means protect Genosha," Kitty´s explained now sherd some light into his mind.
"I see, and well..." Kurt rubs his neck a little, "interrogation for national security never had a good story, however, no one here will torture a minor to get information," Kurt promised and Kitty nods, "but you have to understand, our mission here is to protect Genosha,"
Kitty gulps loudly. "I know, I know...it´s just...she´s a minor, barely 18 years old, and is already under this part of the Red Guard...I can´t stop worrying you know?" is a strange question to make, after all, why anyone would care for the enemy or ally of the said enemy?
Kurt pause as if analyzing the best response to give, finally, the elf replies. "I get it, no one here wants to kill if there´s another option, that´s why Kwannon is the one doing the interrogation...she can read a person without needing to read minds," Kurt explains.
Seems more humane this way. Kwannon is a human polygraph and never wrong. NEVER.
"Well, it´s just I hear rumors that..." whatever Kitty was to about to say Mystique cut through with her presence. The leader of the Red Guards is wearing her uniform in the best way and looks tired.
"Ok, let me guess...the rumor is that we murder willy-nilly and we eat the flesh of our enemies? Because Miss Pryde...we´re all vegetarians here," Raven flashes a smirk and stare at her son.
"Kurt, the interrogation is over, you can go see your sister now...Kwannon and Rogue were working on the case and ...it wasn´t needed much, the girl spoke everything," Raven states calmly.
Her golden eyes glare at Kitty, "You´ll be glad to know the girl is still alive...and in one piece, better hurry before we change our mind," and now she takes her to leave.
Kitty narrows her eyes. "Is your mother always charming like that?"
"Oh only if she likes you, consider yourself lucky Katzchen," Kurt jokes and Kitty refrains to say anything.
Kitty is perfectly cable of walking, however, Kurt offers his hand and asks. "Do you want to teleport to the room?"
Normally, she would have said no, but, just to spite Mystique...
"Sure, why not?" Kitty said smiling.
Once inside the room, Rogue is holding some documents as Kwannon is making some calls-another guard is with Pixie, one more amicable- and Kitty is a bit dizzy from the teleportation.
"Sorry, you get used," Kurt promised apologetic and Kitty only makes some noises of understanding.
"Ah, lil bubba, we got all cover, lil miss Pixie here is not the big boss, so to speak," Rogue speaks with a cheerful tone not once she was bothered by the smell or the fact he enters here holding Kitty in a bridal style.
"And is she ok?" noticing the stares Kitty sighs, "she´s a minor, right? where are her guardians?"
Kwannon ended her call and answer that. "Funny you asked that, because turns out she infiltrated this country alone, Emma Frost took her in out of pity," Kwannon pretends to not see the shock on Kitty´s face. "and well, Pixie either is too naive for not seeing what her sisters are plotting or she is well-trained in interrogations," Kwannon responds cooly.
"So...Emma Frost is her legal guardian now?" Kurt asked trying to understand the options. Either Emma says she was ignorant of everything- a bad call on her part- or she admits she never once saw coming her student was a danger for Genosha.
Either option is not ideal for Emma Frost and her school.
"For the moment, yes. Emma is coming here, Pixie´s cover story was a lie, she said she had a poor aunt living here ...but it was just a well-crafted illusion, turns out, Pixie is a magic user, one of the good ones," Rogue states seriously.
"Does the Queen knows?" Kitty dares to ask.
Rogue nods. "And Pixie gave us the address of her sisters, all we have to do now...is checking out,"
Kitty blinks and looks at Kurt, maybe, that was his mission all along. "Why mastermind wants Genosha so much?"
"Delusion? or maybe he truly felt as if Magneto cheat on a deal?" Rogue replied not really interested.
"Either way, Katzchen, this obsession is now shared by his daughters and we, the Red Guard, have to protect Genosha at any cost," Kurt promised firmly.
Kitty nods and doesn´t make more comments. This is a big change from arresting her crazy ex-boyfriend for sure.
