Part 2

When the clanging of pots and pans began she figured it was safe to leave her room. The sun was fully risen which meant Toni would be back from her morning run and Cheryl would be making breakfast.

Olivia dragged herself from bed and to the bathroom. Hoping a cold shower could pull out at least the slightest bit of energy.

Her Mother’s were vigilant. If their daughter was even the slightest bit off, they knew about it. Whether she’d felt like she did poorly on a test or had some bothersome period cramps, they always could tell. Olivia was blessed to have such wonderful, caring moms, but that made it impossible to keep anything to herself. And as a 16 year old? Sometimes you don’t want your mothers all up in your business.

The shower helped a bit, only needing to add a little concealer under her eyes seal the deal. She couldn’t possibly let on that she never went back to sleep last night. Then she’d have to admit that she didn’t think it’s was just a dream, but a premonition.

She supposed crazier things have happened in Riverdale, however, she feared her fate if her mothers did not believe her.

So Olivia put on her greatest smile and entered the kitchen. The sight before her was one of common occurrence, Cheryl at the stove flipping pancakes and Toni at the kitchen island sipping her shake while sending her an occasional wink or kiss.

“Good Morning Love,” Cheryl hummed when she saw her daughter entering the kitchen. She put down her spatula to give her daughter a big hug and kiss before letting her go around the island to do the same with Toni.

“Hi Baby,” Toni muttered with her hug.

“Did you sleep better?,” she continued after pulling away but still holding onto her daughter and studying her face.

“Yes Mama, much better,” She fibbed hoping the subject would be dropped.

And to her relief it was.

Just after, Cheryl approached the breakfast nook with a big plate of pancakes which joined the fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, and of course, Blossom Maple Syrup. The other two girls followed over, taking their usual seats as Cheryl gave them a smile and began to serve.

Cheryl beamed at her two girls, finally content in her life.

She finally sat as they all began filling their plates with extras and then eating contently, small conversations sparking here or there. Once finished the girls stayed seated, relaxing and leisurely drinking what was left of their coffee.

“Are you still going over to Chloe’s today?” Cheryl asked breaking the silence.

Olivia swallowed a sip of her coffee with a nod before speaking,

“Yeah, we have to submit the first part of our group project this week,”

“Alright, well keep your phone near by. I’m not sure what’s going on for dinner tonight.”

“Ok,” Olivia responded while picking up her plate and bringing it over to the sink, she stopped short when she saw an invitation on the counter.

“What is this?” She said, picking it up with her free hand.

Cheryl and Toni both look up from their cleaning to see what she was talking about.

“Oh, Aunt Ronnie is hosting another one of her luxurious gatherings at La Bon Nuit next week,” Cheryl answered.

Olivia’s heart dropped into her stomach. A party. At La Bon Nuit. Everyone will be there.

It sounded a lot like the start of her dream.
