When Adrianna woke up she found that she was in a room instead of a cell which she found surprising given the fact that they were all grilling her for answers she didn’t have but she was still glad to not be in a cell jail was not for her. Looking over Adriana saw the time it was 6 pm which wasn’t an unusual time to wake up since her sleep schedule was more than fucked up, she also found her phone or at least one of them on the nightstand she had a billion messages and other notifications she ignored them and just went straight to TikTok hoping she could avoid all her problems and her current situation.
“Ms. Romanoff I would like to inform you that Ms. Santos appears to be awake.” Friday’s voice comes in making everybody stop,” Thanks Friday, can you ask her to come upstairs.” Natasha told Friday as she took the plates to the table.
“You think she’ll still be mad?” Wanda said she really didn’t want Adrianna to be mad at her- at them for what they did earlier,” I don’t know little witch, I guess we have to wait and see.”
“How bad did you guys treat her?” Pepper said she had come 2 hours ago (along with Yo-yo) to have dinner with them,” We may have called her a liar when she’s clearly a big fan of Iron Man.” Tony cut in from behind Pepper after really checking (per Fury’s and May’s request) they had found that Adrianna had some Avengers and some Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D merch which made everyone settle down.
“She’s on her way up.” Friday informed them,” She obviously loves Romanoff more; she had more merch of you.” Sam said
“You think she’ll let us keep some things?” Phill asked he wanted all the Captain America merch Adrianna had they weren’t trading cards but they were something maybe he could even convince Adrianna to get Steve to sign them for him since Steve couldn’t possibly deny a child. Right?
When Adrianna came to the communal room she was so distracted that she didn’t see Mack until she bumped into him and almost fell lucky her, Mack caught her,” Wow you have to watch where you’re going.” Mack said as he helps Adrianna steady herself,” Fuck!” Adrianna said as she picked up her phone hoping it hadn’t cracked,” Please don’t be cracked.” Adrianna said before she flipped her phone over to see that it hadn’t cracked she didn’t know what she would tell her parents if it did crack; this had to be the third time she had cracked her phone and had to get it fixed.
“You’re more worried about your phone than almost cracking your head open?” Daisy asked as she saw everything that just happened,” Huh?” Adrianna said the first time, looking up, her eyes landing on Mack first,” I don’t know what the hell you're feeding him but he is too damn big.” Adrianna told Daisy, causing both agents to laugh.
“Taller than a tree,” Adrianna said as she looked up at Mack, her neck hurting just from staring at him,” Come on dinners getting served,” Daisy said as she took Adrianna’s hand and led her to the kitchen she was surprised when the girl didn’t withdraw her hand back.
“Sleeping beauty has woken everyone,” Tony said as he saw Daisy and Adrianna come in which Adrianna rolled her eyes at Tony’s comment.
“Don’t mind him. I’m Pepper but I think you already knew this.” Pepper said as Adrianna shook her hand,” I do know who you are.” Adrianna told Pepper she knew everyone in the room; she probably knew more about them than they did about each other.
“Tony told me you were tiny for someone your age so I got you a booster seat.” Pepper said, pointing to the chair that had a gray booster seat,” before you say no you can barely reach a doorknob and you barely even reach 4 feet your sitting in the chair.” Fury told Adrianna as she scowled at him.
“I’m not a child.” Adrianna protested
“Really because you’re in the body of one. The same height as a child.” Natasha told her,” I’m not sitting in the chair.” Adrianna said, still scowling at the adults.
Adrianna did end up sitting in the booster seat very reluctantly; she found that Melinda May was much scarier than she was on screen,” Now that we’re all sitting. Why don't’ you tell us a little bit about yourself.” Phil said breaking the silence that had settled on the table,'' There is nothing much.” Adrianna said as she played with the fork in her hand she couldn’t find it in herself to eat it made her stomach turn and feel nauseous.
"Nothing much really.” Her life was as boring as it could get,” Please Adri.” Wanda begged she wanted to know more about Adriana they didn’t really talk much about their life it did come up but Adrianna didn’t share much just little details and Wanda didn’t blame her she also wasn’t pouring her whole life to Adrianna.
Adriana sighed,” Fine what do you want to know?” Adrianna asked them if Daisy was the first to speak,” What's a typical day for you?” Daisy like many of them forgot what a normal day looked like that didn’t involve missions, people they care about dying.
“Lots of sleeping, if it’s not sleeping, school, friends, parties, I could go on,” Adrianna said there was never a typical day for her, there was always something new and unexpected or it was a day full of screaming and spinning.
“Like a high school party?” Jemma asked if she hadn’t been able to attend a high school party. She wanted to know what it was like,” Yeah, and regular parties.” Adriana said, not getting why Jemma was asking about high school parties,” Why are you acting like you haven’t been to a high school party? You all must have attended to one right?” Adriana asked the adults the only ones who nodded were Daisy, Sam, Maria, Clint, and Tony,” You’re shitting me right?”
“I mean Wanda is a different story but come on,” Adriana said how come they haven’t been to a party even the quiet kids at her school went.
“I was studying.” Pepper explained
“We were too young and smart for our peers,” Jeema explained for Fitz and herself they were always ahead of other people their age, and then the older kids used to pick on them; they never truly found people like them until they got to Shield.
“My parents are Asian.” That was all May said as Adriana nodded she knew how Asian parents could be, her best friend’s mother was Asian although she wasn’t as strict she drew a line just like her own Russian mother.
“It wasn’t a thing during my time.” Even if they were he doubted he would get invited, he was the skinny kid with many health issues; his only friend was Bucky.
“But dinosaurs were.” Adrianna teased Steve making the other laugh but not Fury he smirked at the girl,” You know what kid.'' Steve said as he smiled he didn’t mind a few jibs at his age.
“It was dangerous in Columbia.” Yo-yo shrugged. She did wish she could attend but her parents didn’t like it. A couple of parties got shot up and even if it wasn’t that, walking on the streets was more dangerous.
“What’s your excuse?” Adrianna asked Mack,” I wasn’t really popular in high school.”Mack explained he may be big and buff but not in high school,” Hm. And you?” It was towards Fury,” Nothing.” Fury said honestly he was invited but never went; he didn't want to get arrested for something he didn’t do.
“Hmmm.” That was all Adrianna said as she went back to playing with the food on her plate. It didn't go unnoticed by anyone at the table,” Well what are they like?” Jemma said she was eager to know as well as the other people who have never been to one though they wouldn’t show it.
“A lot happens.” That is all Adrianna can say and she’s happy to not have Jemma ask more questions when Fitz starts talking to her about something new he’s working on, soon everyone is having their own conversations.
Adrianna had started talking to Wanda and they were trading stories (mostly Adrianna) and things they did and the differences between the universe that they lived in, everything was going good Adrianna even ate a little (not enough to make an impact on her plate but it was still something) she even caught Sam looking at Natasha a couple of times not that she said anything but she noticed.
