Ghost Spider
“WHAT’S YOUR NAME? WHO ARE YOU? HOW DID YOU SHOOT THOSE WEBS OUT OF YOUR WRISTS? COULD I GET A QUICK INTERVIEW? ARE YOU RELATED TO SPIDERMAN? ARE YOU SPIDERMAN?”
The voices were irritating. How was she going to save lives while thousands of reporters were up her ass? A glider flew past them which shocked everyone. When they turned around to see the glider, nothing was there. When they turned to look back at the hero, she disappeared. Sounds of disappointed reporters flooded the streets.
The vigilante stops at a shed and makes sure no one spots her. She walked into a napping Eugene and sighed. She took off her mask, Wednesday Addams, the ‘freak’, the ‘weirdo’, everyone knew she stood out from the outcasts. Who knew she would become a hero vigilante? Wednesday hated being referred to as a hero. She wasn’t a hero. She was only doing this because Eugene was obsessed with this “Spider-Man” figure. Everyone was.
”Eugene.” Wednesday said hitting his head lightly.
Eugene screamed awake. ”Oh hi Willa!” He said looking at his friend.
They’ve been friends ever since Wednesday’s arrival at Nevermore Academy. Eugene sees Wednesday as an older sister and Wednesday sees the boy as her younger brother.
”Eugene, you never told me how annoying news reporters are. You also never told me my ‘hero name’.” Wednesday said the last part with air quotes.
”OHHH right sorry Willa! Hmm.. What about.. Ghost Spider?”
“Hm. Seems like you can come up with decent names.” Wednesday said.
Eugene smiled at her and opened the secret compartment where Wednesday stored her tools. She took off her suit and hung it in the compartment. They said goodbye to each other and Wednesday walked out as if nothing had happened.
She walked quietly to her dorm ignoring the looks she was getting.
Wednesday opened the door to find her roommate writing her stupid blog.
Enid heard the door shut and turned around.
”Hey roomie!” She squealed.
”Hello to you too Sinclair.”
”Have you seen the new hero?!”
”That rodent isn’t a hero, just some vigilante.”
”Whatever you sayyy”
Wednesday took out the phone Eugene forced her to get for ‘hero purposes’ and went to see Enid’s blog. She knew what Enid had posted ever since Eugene taught her how to download apps and use the phone in general. Wednesday was reading the blog quietly until she got a message from Eugene telling her that there was suspicious activity at the Weathervane.
”I’m going to go on a walk.” Wednesday said as an excuse.
“Isn’t it la—“ Before Enid could continue, Wednesday was already out of the room. Enid shrugged and started to do the rest of her homework.
Wednesday ran in the halls making no noise even with her platforms on. She made sure to check for anyone seeing her enter the shed, looking back every once in a while.
”What’s going on at the Weathervane?” She asked as she barged in.
”Some idiot in a goblin mask.”
Wednesday put her suit on which didn’t take a while but she ready needed to find a quicker way to do this.
She walked out of the shed and shot her webs at the tallest building she could see. Wednesday made it to the Weathervane in time and saw the goblin.
“It’s always the Weathervane..” She mumbled to herself.
She grabbed the guy's by the arm and threw him to the ground. He grunted but got up quickly.
”Well, well, well, look who’s here..” His voice would give the average person a chill because of how creepy it sounded.
Wednesday just rolled her eyes but it wasn’t noticeable because of her mask.
”Let’s just get this over with” She punched his throat causing him a gag.
That came along with a stomp to his groin and long kneed him.
”Seems like I’ve underestimated your skills, little girl..” He said.
”It’s Ghost Spider. Not ‘little girl’. Call me that again and I will decapitate you.” She said back coldly.
The goblin scoffed and hopped on the glider Wednesday saw earlier today.
She swung back to Eugene’s shed and walked in cautiously.
”Willa! Thank god you’re back in one piece.” Eugene said.
“It appears I have. Also, do you think making a suit I can easily and quickly put on that I can access while in my school uniform is possible?” Wednesday asked.
”Well, it may be tough but it’s possible! I can run some tests tomorrow, it’s late.” He said stretching his arms.
”Oh yeah! Here’s an earpiece so I can contact you while you’re off fighting random adults!” He said handing her an earpiece that would be unnoticeable in her ear.
”Thank you. See you tomorrow.” Wednesday said leaving the shed.
”Bye!” She heard Eugene faintly yell out.
Wednesday returned back to the dorm to find a sleeping Enid. She sighed and walked in normally knowing the wolf is a heavy sleeper.
She changed into her pajamas and rested on her bed in her usual corpse position. She sighed and shut her eyes.
