Chapter 6
Tony was working on his newest project, all his focus concentrated on his work that he didn't notice when a figure appeared out of seemingly thin air right behind him.
"Fucking metal. Why won't you bend?" Tony muttered to himself, gripping the metal in his hand, trying to bend it just enough to fit properly with the rest of the machine.
Tony yelped as arms slid around his waist, hands clasping at his stomach. "Morning, Anthony Dear."
Tony let out a slow breath. "Loki, hey. Wait, it's morning?"
Loki rolled green eyes. "Yes, Anthony, it is. I'm assuming you stayed up the night? Why am I not surprised?"
"Well, you do know me better than anyone else," Tony admitted, setting down the metal with a sigh.
"That's why you both love and fear me," Loki murmured, placing a kiss to the back of Tony's neck.
"Oh, joy and happiness. You're talking like a crazy, psychotic person again," Tony grumbled as he turned in Loki's arms only for Loki to kiss him soft and sweet.
Tony made a muffled noise of shock, caught off guard for a moment before melting into it, wrapping his arms around Loki's neck to draw him closer.
Loki hummed in approval as he drew back. "You need more sleep."
Tony huffed. "So, what? You just kiss me like that and pretend nothing happened?"
Loki just grinned. "Are you complaining? Should I kiss you less?"
"Don't you dare," Tony growled though he couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips. "So what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"
"I can't just want to be in your presence?" Loki asked incredulously.
Tony snorted, untangling himself from Loki's embrace, already missing the feeling of safety in Loki's arms. "You can't stand being around me for more than an hour max before you complain about me giving you a migraine."
"It's not my fault how much you manage to run your mouth without taking a single breath," Loki teased as he walked across the lab, examining the things on the shelves and benches as he passed. "I wanted to talk to you about the Avenging heroes you're so fond of."
Tony raised an eyebrow as he went to sit down on the couch, crossing his legs as he did. "The Avengers? Who says I'm 'fond' of them?"
"Many people say so," Loki said simply as he walked over to where Tony sat. "Including me. It's very obvious."
"What's obvious?" Tony demanded.
"That you're infatuated with them," Loki whispered as he leaned over Tony, hands gripping the back of the couch behind Tony's head. "Tell me I'm wrong?"
Tony pressed his lips together, looking away from the god. "Yeah, well, it doesn't matter."
"Why not?" Loki asked, cocking his head to the side.
Tony let out a frustrated sigh. "Because it just doesn't, okay? So, drop it."
"You do love them," Loki decided, moving away to sit down beside Tony.
"Whoa, 'love'? Who said anything about lov—?!" Tony let out a very manly squeak (or at least, that's what he told himself later) as Loki easily pulled Tony into his lap. Tony grabbed onto Loki's shoulders to steady himself, his legs on either side of Loki's.
Loki looked very satisfied as Tony grumbled death threats under his breath. "What were you saying, Darling?"
Tony sighed, letting his head fall onto Loki's chest. "They don't love me, Loki. There's no way in hell that's possible."
"But you do love them?" Loki murmured, running long fingers through the genius' hair soothingly.
Tony peaked up at Loki. "Yeah, alright, fine. I love them. Happy?"
"Ecstatic, I assure you," Loki said with a smirk that made Tony groan and turn his face back into Loki's chest. "You should tell them."
Tony shook his head though he didn't look up. "Yeah, right. Like that's really going to happen."
"Well, why not?" Loki asked, lifting Tony's head so the genius would look at him. "You think these feelings will just go away if you ignore them? They won't. They'll just get worse until you can't bear the thought of them getting hurt and if someone tries to hurt the ones you love, you'll destroy them. They'll figure it out eventually. It's better for it to come for you."
Tony lowered his eyes to the floor. "I can't, Loki. I'm their enemy. They'd never understand."
"I was once your enemy, remember? Now look at us," Loki said, gesturing between them. "You had the choice to kill me once but you didn't. You put your weapons down and let me in. We got to know more about each other that eventually led to now. Who's to say that won't happen again with the Avenging heroes?"
Tony chewed his lip, trying to think of a possible argument to this but came up empty handed. "I don't know, Loki. They could just throw me in a cell as soon as I let my guard down."
"They could also not," Loki pointed out. "You won't know if you don't try."
"And you're okay with this?" Tony asked warily. "Especially since if it works I'll be dating your Brother?"
Loki shrugged. "There's such thing as polyamorous relationships. As for Thor, he and I are adults and are capable of sharing."
"I find that hard to believe," Tony said with a grin.
Loki glared lightly. "Hush now or else I'll turn you into a gerbil. You need to talk to the Avenger, understood?"
"Why do you care so much?" Tony asked with an eye roll. "Or is this all a part of some great scheming prank of some sort?"
Loki shook his head looking rather horrified. "I would never play with you emotions like that. No, I just wish to see you happy. You've been so stressed lately, don't think I haven't noticed."
Tony looked away. "And you think being rejected by a bunch of heroes is going to help that?"
"They won't," Loki said softly. "If there's one thing I know, it's that they most definitely share your feelings. They just haven't quite realized it yet."
Tony looked over Loki's face curiously. "You're sure you're okay with this? With me wanting to be with them?"
"I'm a god, Anthony," Loki scoffed. "I'm sure I'll survive you hanging out with a bunch of lowlife mortals in your free time."
"Ooh, is someone getting jealous already?" Tony teased, grinning widely.
Loki only smirked before Tony was on his back, Loki hovering over him. That predatory smile that was on the Mischief gods face was doing things to Tony already. "Now, why would I be jealous of them when I can have all this whenever I want?"
"All of what? Not sure I understand where you're getting at, Lokes. You might have to show me," Tony breathed, leaning up to catch Loki's mouth in a heated kiss.
"That can be arranged," Loki murmured against them, gripping the genius' hips tight.
Tony didn't have to think too much for the rest of the morning.
